A touch of blush can instantly liven up your face. It can make you look healthier and more awake. Unfortunately, it’s the beauty product that I was never too interested in…until recently. I’ve purchased quite a few blushes by different brands lately, and e.l.f. Mineral Blush Joy has, by far, the smallest price tag.

Yeah, I caught it when elf had the 50% off mineral sale. I always think, “It’s so affordable; why not?” Well, there are a few why-nots that I’ll tell you about when it comes to elf Mineral Blush Joy. There are also a couple of things that I do like about it, too! Continue reading

Those of you who have heard about the new NYX HD line might already feel that it’s trying to copy another brand. Well, at least that was my first impression when I saw it online. I placed my order hoping that NYX was able to copy the quality while offering the products at slightly lower prices.

The product that I got was NYX HD Studio Photogenic Primer. While I like some aspects of it, there are many that I don’t appreciate very much. It is definitely not my favorite face primer. Continue reading

e.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow Golden Review & Swatches

Let’s cut to the chase: I l-o-v-e e.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow Golden. There. I said it. I think the gold color is so warm and beautiful! It instantly adds a special look-at-my-eyes effect that you’re going to love.

Not only that, it’s also versatile. I’ve used it on the lid as the main color, as well as on the crease, underneath the brow, on lower lash line – however you decide to wear it, it works! It’s one of the good eggs of the elf Mineral Eyeshadow collection. Continue reading

Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer Review, Swatches & Pictures

Smashbox Eyeshadow PrimerThey say that you never forget your first. But I did until now! It was only after I was reorganizing my makeup stash that I came across this neglected little tube of Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer.

This was the first eye-shadow primer I ever tried. And my motivation for buying it was plain and simple – it didn’t contain Bismuth Oxychloride. That’s a known allergen, and I’m allergic to it.

I discovered this eye primer before Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden sashayed into my life and landed Holy Grail status. (In my Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer review, I compare it with the Urban Decay equivalent.)

The Smashbox eyeshadow primer does a good job at preventing creasing and for concealing discoloration on the eyelids, but find out why I’ll never buy this again. Continue reading

Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow Sunbaked Neutrals Review & Swatches

After purchasing Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow Sunbaked Neutrals, I realized that I own a lot and a lot of green eyeshadows. I just think green is such a nice color! And this palette has one of the prettiest green eyeshadows of my collection!

But it’s not just about the green. It actually has more neutral colors in matte, shimmery and pearlescent finishes. You can easily use these shades to play up or play down the greens. So pretty. Continue reading

e.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow Partier Review & Swatches

** This post was written by Fiona. She no longer blogs for Swatch And Learn. However, Mary still continues to blog and will be happy to reply to your comment. **

e.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow Partier has the same issue as the previous shadows I’ve swatched and reviewed from this collection. The color on the elf website is not the same as the actual color. I’m really glad that I’m able to show you the actual color!

On the site, Partier looks almost like a midnight blue. It’s sexy and sultry – definitely a color I see myself wearing at a (non-office) party. And even in the container, the product has a slight blue hue to it. Definitely not the case on my eyes. Come see what I mean. Continue reading
