New Blog Feature: Smorgasbord Sundays

Welcome to a new Swatch And Learn blog feature: Smorgasbord Sundays!

Smorgasbord Sundays Swatch And Learn

The themes are randomness and variety! Starting next week, every Sunday’s post will feature anything such as a photograph, a vegetarian recipe, a question for you, something I read, a music video, a little about myself, etc.

Yes, I still do love reviewing products for you, designing nail art, and swatching polishes. This blog will remain beauty-oriented.

But on Sundays, let’s kick back on Swatch And Learn’s hammock! It’s the weekend, after all, and maybe it’ll soften those next-day Monday Blues.

I feel that Smorgasbord Sundays will help us get to know each other better. Interacting with you all is a blast, and I make it a point to reply to every single comment so that you know your voice is heard.

Please let me know what you think about this new feature, or even just leave a comment about anything like what you’re up to today, what’s the last book you read, etc.

I’ll try Smorgasbord Sundays for a bit, and we’ll see how we all like it.

And…in case you were curious, the frogs depicted in the Smorgasbord Sundays graphic are some of my favourite home-decor items.

Bought them a few years ago because the set looked cute, and I thought I’d like drinking tea if I could pour it out of a frog teapot. (Yes, I am a kid at heart.) Unfortunately when I brought it home and washed it, the sticker on the bottom said it was ‘for decoration purposes only’. Oh boo…But at least I enjoy looking at it. And now I can share it with you!

Do you also have any home-decor items you love that really serve no purpose except to look at? 😛

Farewell, Fiona! We Wish You the Best!

Fiona already broke the big news that yesterday would be her last blog post on Swatch And Learn.

I will miss her fun writing and smart reviews! And I’m sure that all of our visitors will also miss her greatly.

Show her some love!

(You can view all of Fiona’s posts here.)

Farewell Fiona

Since we began this blog on July 25th, 2010, we worked really hard together to bring you reviews, swatches, photos, giveaways, and fun commentary. It’s been great collaborating with Fiona to get Swatch And Learn to this point.

I’ll be continuing solo and trying to uphold the integrity and quality of the blog to do it justice for all the hard work we’ve put into it so far.

As a tribute to Fiona’s dedication, I’ve decided that today there will be no product reviews or swatches (well, except for the one I just did above).

I want this big news to be the day’s highlight to give it the attention that it truly deserves. Then, starting tomorrow, Swatch And Learn will be back in action.

—————-

It’s hard to believe that Swatch And Learn will be a year old on July 25th!

The single candle on our e-cake makes us happier than even tracking down that very-hard-to-find nail polish because not only have we loved getting creative through daily blogging, but we’ve also met so many kindred spirits along the way.

Reading your comments and interacting with all of you has been very rewarding. We’ve learned a lot from your contributions, and we’ve worked hard to make Swatch And Learn better. Without all of you, our blog would be nothing. You motivate us to continue!

We’ve stayed up late putting the finishing touches on posts, used the blog as an excuse to justify our makeup splurges, and shared our opinions on products we tested that worked or that didn’t. We’ve photographed our nails, our lips, our eyes, our eyelashes, and even our arms all in the name of reviews, swatches, and tutorials.

To celebrate this milestone and to thank all our readers, we’re holding a huge non-sponsored giveaway featuring products we purchased especially for this occasion. Continue reading
