Blog News: My Magician Nails Featured on beautylish

Here’s a second quick post for today. Beautylish featured my Magician Nails in one of their articles! 🙂 (They’re the ones on the far left.)

Below is the screenshot, but you can also click here to see the original article. I suggest checking it out because there are also other awesome nail looks that will inspire you.

Swatch And Learn on Beautylish Nail Art

New Year's Eve Nails beautylish Swatch And Learn

Ever since I first joined beautylish (August 23, 2011), their team has constantly been very supportive of my nail designs, so I’m very thankful! And I love how they’ve built a strong beauty community that fosters a positive environment to share your work with others and also to learn from others.

It’s encouragement that really helps people muster up the courage to try new things. I’m trying to do that on Swatch And Learn, too.

Thank you all for keeping me company through my blogging journey! 🙂

P.S. I did some New Year’s Eve nail art. Look for that on Swatch And Learn really soon. I’ll try to get it up before the 31st.

      Hey Ashesela!

Yes, isn’t it so reassuring? 🙂 You know, before I started blogging, I heard about a lot of bloggers getting attacked by mean and jealous people. It makes you hesitant to put yourself out there, but…I’m really glad I did. And I’ve been really lucky/blessed that my readers are the best – no drama, just positivity, encouragement, and an openness to learn from one another and share!

Using a blog as megaphone is boring. It’s really interacting with readers that makes blogging way more rewarding and fun! So, thank you, Ashesela! 😀

      Hey Frosso!

Thank you! 😀 (My face hurts from smiling so much!)

I don’t think I mentioned it in my original post on that design, but the edges of the stars were really sharp! If you or anyone is thinking about using star sequins, I suggest applying extra top coat to smooth it out because…it’s dangerous. Haha!

Grats on that spotlight and what a great article! I can’t wait to see what you’ve come up with for new years! I think I’ll take their advice and bling it up 😀 I had gotten a few packs of rhinestones from Ebay, now’s the perfect time to try them out.

      Hey Vivian!

Rhinestones? That already sounds like a really fun manicure! Do you know what kind of design you’re going to do with them?

Did you see the gold nails in that beautylish article? Soooo gorgeous! I wish there was a bottle of polish that could achieve that perfect, smooth, metallic effect.

Oh, the New Year’s Eve nail art I’ll show shortly is realllllllllllly simple. I think a lot of people will be really busy and will want a look that they can quickly slap on.

YES I was just telling my friend about that! The one that looks like liquid gold on your nails. It’s incredible. too bad they didn’t elaborate on how to achieve it =/ I think it might be decals. you know, some sort of metallic paper.

For new years, I think i’m just going to go for a metallic color, then line up rhinestones length wise. like this picture! -> http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/297539_10150265440558359_500298358_7922904_2732844_n.jpg

I also suspect they’re decals. Even so, it’s amazing how the finish is perfectly smooth!

          That’s a pretty design – not over-the-top, but still sparkly! 🙂

      Hey Jennifer!

Thank you very much! 🙂 It was really quick to do. You should try it, but just make sure to add extra top coat so the points of the star sequins aren’t sharp. (I learned the hard way.)

Congrats on the feature! You come up with some really adorable nail designs and the recognition is well deserved! My husband is a magician so this will be something I have to try. I showed him pictures of it and he approved. =)

      Hey Raychul!

      Thank you so much! 🙂

How cool that your husband is a magician! I’m curious – does he share the secrets behind his signature tricks with you? I’ve always wanted to know how magicians pull off so many cool tricks, but of course they can’t divulge because it’s part of the mystery. 🙂

Hehehe, it means a lot that an actual magician approved of my magician nails! YAYYYYY! 😀 Hope you love it when you try it out.

Hehe, you have bragging rights that your nails are magician approved! Of course, it’s not by David Copperfield or anything but other people don’t need to know that. 😉

It is a lot of fun having a magician for a husband! He doesn’t do magic full time yet (maybe one day) and still has a regular full-time job. It’s mostly a weekend/after hours thing but it’s something he loves to do.

The majority of his magic is a secret to me and I prefer it that way. I don’t like knowing the secret behind it because I think it ruins the “magic” of the trick. I will occasionally catch him because he likes to practice his new material out on me but it’s always a bummer if I figure something out. The secret is usually something so simple it takes the fun out of watching it.

          Hey Raychul!

Yes, that’s a bragging right that you don’t hear often. 😉 I’ll take it!

You’re right – knowing the trick takes away the magic. But…I would still want to know how to do a few. Most of the ones I knew (I forgot them now) were card tricks. Anything else requires a lot of dexterity and the ability to easily distract. Maybe a magician could yell, “Oh look! It’s bar glitter!” in the middle of an act. I’d fall for it.
