Bath & Body Works Malibu Citrus Anti-Bacterial Gentle Foaming Hand Soap Review & Pictures

Bath & Body Works Malibu Citrus Anti-Bacterial Gentle Foaming Hand Soap Review & PicturesWhile citrus perfumes are totally not my thing, when it comes to shower gel or hand soap, a citrus scent makes my day.

Not only is it refreshing and bright, but it’s a nice ‘wake up’ that I can take in small doses.

The Bath & Body Works Malibu Citrus Anti-Bacterial Gentle Foaming Hand Soap smells great!

And even if you’re like me and aren’t the biggest citrus fan in general, give this one a shot. You may just end up stockpiling it after trying it for the first time. 😉

Bath & Body Works Malibu Citrus Anti-Bacterial Gentle Foaming Hand Soap Review

Fragrance

To eliminate extra ‘power of suggestion’, I decided to try this soap without reading any written descriptions.

The interesting thing is that when I made a mental note of what I smelled (lime, orange, and grapefruit), I was really surprised when I was actually spot on! Those are the exact scents listed!

The orange and lime are the most prominent for me, and I get a hint of the grapefruit. And the overall scent is light, so don’t worry about being overpowered.

This is a fresh, bright, and lively scent that’s great for a hand soap. I really enjoy washing my hands with this one because it’s a fragrance that I associate with being clean.

How Well Does It Clean?

My hands felt very clean after using this. Even when my hands were greasy, the Bath and Body Works Malibu Citrus hand soap cut through it very well.

Is It Drying?

Some people find foaming hand soaps drying, but it doesn’t feel overly drying to me. The foaming version is much gentler on my skin than Bath & Body Works’ Deep Cleansing kind, that’s for sure!

Formula

Because this is a foaming soap, you’ll zip through it in no time. Unlike gel-type formulas, you use more of the foaming soaps. This may be a downside for you because, in the end, this formula costs you more.

Limited-Time Fragrance

If you really like Malibu Citrus, I suggest that you grab it ASAP because it probably won’t be around much longer than the summer. And I’m really not sure if they’ll bring it back the following year.

Packaging

My favourite colour is green (for polish and just in general), so of course I liked the way this hand soap looks! 😉

I also like how the packaging is pretty simple yet functional. I don’t really need my soap to look all crazy. As long as it cleans and doesn’t make my hands smell weird, I’m happy. (See, I’m relatively easy to please!) 😛

Pros

  • Fresh, bright & lively scent (smells of lime, orange & grapefruit)
  • Foaming soap is gentle on skin
  • Simple packaging
Cons

  • You go through foaming soap faster than gel-like soaps
  • Limited-time fragrance

Final Verdict: 9.5/10

I really enjoyed using the Bath and Body Works Malibu Citrus Anti-Bacterial Gentle Foaming Hand Soap. It smells so refreshing, and it made me want to wash my hands more just to smell it…haha!

What hand soap are you currently using? What type of smells remind you most of the summer? Do you use hand soaps with pumps or do you use bar soaps?

    Morning!
I love Bath and Body Works’ handsoaps! I even said to my sister one day “I wish we had Bath and Body Works soap at work.”
🙂 I have a whole slew of them stockpiled for when I move into my own house (so my family members don’t use them all on me ;)) My favourite soap scent (and all other products scent) is definitely Twilight Woods – that was the first Bath and Body Works product and scent I was introduced to and it was love at first smell 😀
I love everything from Bath and Body Works, I have something from almost every product line 🙂 Bath and Body Works is definitely my “kryptonite” aside from nail polish 😉 Absolutely no will power to stay out of the store if I’m walking past, lol!

      Hey Erica!

Thanks for visiting my blog so bright and early. 🙂

Haha, if your workplace used Bath & Body Works soaps, I suspect that many employees would take more bathroom breaks. 😉

It’s definitely hard to resist the call, especially when their marketing is amazing. They’re always having killer sales!

Have not used bar soaps for years. Not for face, body, or hands. Might pick this up for my daughter because she likes the foaming kind and is somewhat of a citrus fan while I am not. I remember when my teens were young and they’d have foam all over the sink. (Oh wait–they still do!!)

      Hey Barbara!

Same here – bar soap grosses me out when I think about how someone with dirty hands rubbed their hands all over it, and afterwards I’m using it to clean my hands. Doesn’t seem the most hygienic.

This sounds really nice. But because of money I buy Wal-mart brand anti-bacterial soap. It’s a lot cheaper with kids, that way if I go through it fast it’s not that much to replace. I woudn’t mind having this for myself tho, but I same my money to buy nail polish, that’s my addiction. :~) Love the site, have a great day. :~)
