Bath & Body Works Fresh Picked Peaches Anti-Bacterial Gentle Foaming Hand Soap Review & Pictures

Bath & Body Works Fresh Picked Peaches Anti-Bacterial Gentle Foaming Hand Soap ReviewWhat kind of hand soap do you think Lady Macbeth used? Who came up with the saying, “Be a peach” to mean “Be a dear”? Peach fuzz is a funny way to describe fine hair when you think about it, isn’t it?

Those were some questions that sprung to mind when I sat down to write this review on the Bath & Body Works Fresh Picked Peaches Anti-Bacterial Gentle Foaming Hand Soap.

(And now I have another question: Why is their product name soooooo looooong? :P)

I very much enjoyed using this peach-scented foaming soap. Allow me to tell you more in detail!

Bath & Body Works Fresh Picked Peaches Anti-Bacterial Gentle Foaming Hand Soap Review

Fragrance

When it comes to scents in general, my snout is very particular. I can’t take really strong fragrances without getting a headache. And when it comes to peach notes, I really have to be careful because some of them smell musky and not fresh to me. (I’ve once smelled a perfume with a peach scent that reminded me of basement mildew…Ugh! Too bad I can’t remember the name of it now or I’d tell you.)

So, you can understand my cautious nature when I saw this Bath & Body Works foaming hand soap! I wasn’t sure if it was going to make me crinkle up my nose or not.

I’m pleased to report that it does indeed smell like fresh peaches. You know when you pick up a ripe peach and sniff the skin? This foaming soap reminds me exactly of that. It’s a real-peach scent as opposed to the fuzzy-peach candies.

Peach isn’t my favourite fragrant note, but I did enjoy this one. I’m not crazy about it, but it didn’t make me want to hold my breath every time I went to wash my hands (which is a lot!).

Also important to note is that the scent is light and it does linger a little on your hands, but it’s not enough to compete with a perfume or cologne you may be wearing.

Cleaning Efficacy

Just like all the other Bath & Body Works hand soaps I’ve tried, this one also cleans very well. Even when my hands were greasy, this cut the grease well and left my hands feeling clean.

Packaging

I like the no-nonsense packaging because the pump dispenses the right amount of product, and it’s big and easy to use. It’s also nice how the bottle is clear so you can see how much soap you have left.

Animal-Friendliness

According to the label, this product wasn’t tested on animals, so if you’re looking for cruelty-free products, this one makes the cut.

Seasonal Availability

If you like Fresh Picked Peaches by Bath & Body Works, you should try to snatch it up soon. Normally near the end of summer is when the spring/summer scents start clearing out to make room for fall fragrances.

They may bring this scent back next year (like they did with Fresh Picked Strawberries), but don’t bank on it. The store has so many great sales, so you may as well stock up on your favourites now while you still can.

Value

Keep in mind that you’ll tend to go through foaming soaps faster than other formulas (like gels), so if you look at the bigger picture, you may actually be paying more for this soap than if you opt for the Deep Cleansing or Moisturizing formula.

Pros

  • True fresh-peach fragrance
  • Light scent lingers on skin without altering your perfume/cologne
  • Simple packaging
  • Goes on sale often
  • Not tested on animals
Cons

  • Seasonal scent (It may or may not be brought back next year.)
  • You go through foaming soaps faster than other kinds of soaps

Final Verdict: 7.5/10

The Fresh Picked Peaches Anti-Bacterial Gentle Foaming Hand Soap was better than I anticipated, but it still isn’t my favourite soap to use.

If you like peach scents, this will be right up your alley.

Which scents in the “Fresh Picked” line have you tried? Have you read the book James and the Giant Peach? Do you eat peach jam?

      Hey Brianna!

Hehe, they’re always having a sale! 😉 But I like to wait for when they have the 7 soaps for $25 CAD. That’s the best offer I’ve seen so far…other than during the Semi-Annual Sale, of course. 🙂
