Here I go reviewing yet another Bath & Body Works! Haha, if they didn’t have so many amazing sales for multiple purchases, maybe I wouldn’t be quite as inclined to try so many. π
This time, I gave a new-to-me scent a go: theΒ Bath & Body Works Cucumber Melon Anti-Bacterial Gentle Foaming Hand Soap!
It’s one of Bath & Body Works’ permanent fragrances, so you shouldn’t have any trouble locating it.
I thought that I’d enjoy it because I really love not only eating crisp, fresh cucumbers, but the smell is refreshing and light.
But what did I think of it in the form of hand soap?

Bath & Body Works Cucumber Melon Anti-Bacterial Gentle Foaming Hand Soap Review
Fragrance
Since I don’t usually find myself gravitating toward fragrance with cucumbers at the forefront, this is a first for me. (I blame how Bath & Body Works is always having sales if you buy multiple items!) π
While I do like the freshness of the cucumber blended together with the sweetness of the honeydew, I find this scent to be plain.
There’s nothing wrong with plain when it comes to a hand soap, but I suppose I’m more used to fun, exciting, or different scents. Bath & Body works has spoiled me rotten, so a ‘normal’ scent for a hand soap doesn’t seem quite as memorable.
If you want something basic, this one definitely fits the bill. You’ll enjoy light fragrance while washing your hands, and it mildly lingers even after you’ve rinsed and dried your hands. This isn’t a scent that is loud and proud, so those with sensitive noses may appreciate it more.
Also, from what I could tell, the scent breakdown is 50% cucumber and 50% honeydew, so it’s a true blend. One doesn’t overpower the other, and the combination really works nicely.
Cleaning Efficacy
The Bath & Body Works Cucumber Melon foaming hand soap did the job well at cutting through grease and leaving my hands feeling clean.
Packaging
I’ve always said that I like the packaging. It’s simple, easy-to-use, and no-nonsense. When it comes to soap, I don’t really need fancy packaging…especially when it’s a foaming hand soap and I’ll burn through it in no time.
Animal-Friendliness
This product is not tested on animals, according to the label on the packaging.
Availability
If you dig this scent, you’ll be so happy to know that Cucumber Melon is part of the permanent collection, so you shouldn’t have to jump through hoops to locate it. (But, if jumping through hoops makes you happy and you want the exercise, go for it. Consider setting the hoops on fire for a circus feel.) π Hehe!
Value
You’ll finish a foaming hand soap waaaaaay faster than a regular gel-based hand soap, so keep that in mind.

Final Verdict: 6.5/10
The Bath & Body Works Cucumber Melon foaming hand soap was nice, but it’s not the type of scent that makes me crazy or get into that ‘I must have it’ mentality.
If all my favourite scents are sold out and I need to add more bottles to my purchase to get a discount, maybe I’ll reach for this. But it won’t be my first pick.
Do you agree with me that this scent is just alright, or are you crazy about it? Do you like foaming or gel-based hand soaps best? Which do you enjoy the most: the smell of cucumbers or actually eating cucumbers?

Hi Mary,
I might have to try this soap. I’ve tried some cucumber lotions and they’ve smelled pretty good. I love the foaming soaps, but you’re right you use them twice as fast. I’ll have to wait until I don’t have any new nail polish colors to buy and then by this one. I think I might keep this one just for me. That way I don’t go through it so fast. Have a great day. Awesome job as alway. :~)
Hey Melissa!
Hehehe, oh, so many beauty products to buy! π
Foaming soaps are really fun to use, aren’t they? I really loved the Freshly Picked Pears one, but it was frustrating how I burned through them so fast. (It doesn’t help that I also tend to wash my hands a lot.) So now that the Semi-Annual Sale’s on, I ended up buying a bunch of the Freshly Picked Pears one in the Deep-Cleansing Gel format, even though I do find it drying. At least it’ll last longer. π Just hope it smells the same as the foaming one. You know how sometimes the other versions smell slightly differently? (Actually, I find that’s the case for all of the moisturizing ones. They smell creamier.)
I have Softsoap brand cucumber melon liquid soap in my bathroom and kitchen and I have cucumber melon candles…I fell in love with that scent years ago when I got my first Yankee Candle and it had the cucumber melon scent.
Oh, and as far as form, the bathroom soap is the regular liquid soap and the kitchen is the foam and I like both…don’t really have a preference…just so long as they smell good and clean my hands lol.

Yes, a good scent is verrrry important! π Haha, you don’t want your hands to stink right after you’ve washed them!
Hey Kellie!
Ooohhh…I still have yet to try any Yankee Candles! Maybe the next time I head south of the border, I’ll get to visit the store. Bet it would be like walking into heaven…if it was scented. π
