Blog News: No Blog Post Today

Although I’ve been pretty good about blogging daily, today, there won’t be a blog post.

Things have been hectic for me, and I’ve been dealing with some bad back pain.

I’ll try hard to get something up soon! Thanks for understanding. (My readers are the best!)

Edit (7:36 pm): Thank you all for your heartfelt comments and tweets. My back pain is lessening. I’ve been dealing with it for several days, and the past 2 days were absolutely terrible. It’s the first time I’ve ever experienced back pain, and boy, it sure isn’t fun. I’m NOT planning on taking a blogging hiatus (because I enjoy challenges and pushing through them), so expect a new post really soon.

NCLA Don’t Call Me Peachy! Swatches & Review

NCLA Don't Call Me Peachy Swatches & ReviewNCLA Don’t Call Me Peachy! is the perfect spring colour. It’s pastel with a little punch.

I don’t have too many peach lacquers, so I was really excited to try this one out.

In certain lighting, it reminds me of a Creamsicle. (And, believe it or not, I’ve never eaten a Creamsicle before!) In turn, thinking of the cool treat reminds me of warmer weather.

Speaking of the weather, Mother Nature is really having fun with us, isn’t she?

A few days ago, it felt so balmy like spring had come early. I actually was able to sleep with the windows open, and boy did the fresh air smell so good! (Being cooped up in the winter makes us forget how good fresh air smells. Then, when you smell it, it’s incredible!)

Well, yesterday the weather took a major dip. There was snow, and at night, I saw some hail. Brr! Just when everyone was saying how nice it was to wear lighter jackets and no gloves, Mother Nature rolled up her sleeves like a boss! 😉

Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil Review & Pictures

Josie Maran Pure Argan Oil Review & PicturesI’ve been using the popular MoroccanOil Oil Treatment or the One ‘n Only Argan Oil Treatment on my hair daily with great results, but then I heard about the Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil and became curious about if it would work just as well.

I also liked how the Josie Maran Argan Oil is pure and organic, unlike the other treatments, which contain tons of other ingredients.

By itself, the 50 mL bottle is quite pricey at around $58 CAD, but I purchased a limited-edition value kit that included this plus a few other Josie Maran products.

On the kit’s box, it says that you get a $120 USD value for just $64 USD, and two of the items are full-size products. So, I decided to spend just a bit more to get the extra value kit.

So when I made the switch to Josie Maran’s Argan Oil, was it a good move, or did I regret it? There’s only one way to find out! 😉

NCLA Tennis Anyone? Swatches & Review

NCLA Tennis Anyone Swatches & ReviewIf SpongeBob SquarePants felt like he was going to faint, I think NCLA Tennis Anyone? from the Life’s A Beach Collection would be his colour.

While there’s something really soft about NCLA Tennis Anyone?, it still is a memorable colour that’s delicate yet far from boring.

NailPolishCanada was kind enough to let me try this shade, and it’s my very first NCLA nail polish! (They’ve started carrying this brand. If you want to see all the available colours from multiple collections on their site, click here.)

Milani Ultrafine Liquid Eye Liner Black Vinyl Swatches & Review

Milani Ultrafine Liquid Eye Liner Black Vinyl Swatches & ReviewOn a daily basis, I wear eye liner, but usually I use either a gel liner or a pencil eye liner.

But I’ve been curious about trying out a liquid eye liner because unlike gel liner, I don’t need to use a separate brush. And, unlike a pencil eye liner, liquid eye liner is supposed to be more long-lasting and smudge-proof.

The new Milani Ultrafine Liquid Eye Liner in Black Vinyl was the first liquid eye liner I’ve ever tried, and I was excited to put it to the test!

I was concerned about not being able to draw a straight line. Gel and pencil liners are more forgiving because you can go over the same area and fill in parts you missed. But, going into this, I thought that liquid liner was trickier. More on my surprising experience with that in this post!

Smorgasbord Sundays: My New Glasses

New EyeglassesHere’s lookin’ at you, kid!

If you follow me on Instagram, you saw a photo of me wearing my New Glasses with a look on my face that resembled a deer caught in the headlights. 😉

I have extremely bad eyes. I’m near-sighted, so I rely on glasses to see the world. Without them, I’m like a sitting duck.

I’ve tried contact lenses many years ago, but they seemed like they were really high-maintenance. Plus I wasn’t fond of having to clean the lenses and touch my eye so much. And my eyes are really sensitive in general, so contacts were another irritation.

But that’s okay. I’m comfortable wearing glasses, and I’ve been wearing them since around grade 5.

Lately, I decided it was time to invest in a back-up pair of eyeglasses in case anything happened to my primary pair. (My glasses are pretty much ‘my eyeballs’, so it’s important to have a back-up or else I literally wouldn’t be able to leave my house!)

So, these are my new back-up glasses. I really like them a lot, but they’re Size 47 frames instead of my older frames, which are Size 42.

These also came in a blue, which I thought looked nice, but the red seemed to brighten up my complexion. And the entire frame isn’t red. It’s just the top corner accents and the bridge that are metallic red.

In this post, I’ll show you a closer look at the frames.

Slatkin & Co. Pumpkin Carving Candle Review & Pictures

Slatkin & Co. Pumpkin Carving Review & PicturesIt should come as no surprise that I’m a huge fan of anything with pumpkin in it.

Even though we’re approaching spring, part of me longs for autumn to come around first. 😉

Wow, it has been quite a while since my last scented-candle review, hasn’t it? (But, hey, go check it out…haha, it was for another pumpkin scented candle! :D)

Today I’m excited to share the Slatkin & Co. Pumpkin Carving Candle with you. And I wouldn’t have it in my possession if not for Frosso, a generous and thoughtful reader who also is the blogger of Lacquer Me Silly. (Thank you soooooooooooo much!)
