Marcelle Vita-Lip Plumping Gloss Review – Desire

Hate that sticky, tacky, drying goo that is some lip glosses? Yeah, me too. That’s why I normally stay away from wearing them. But that doesn’t mean I stay away from looking at and testing them whenever I can in hopes of finding one that has the right texture.

Cue Marcelle Vita-Lip Plumping Gloss in Desire. I tested this product on my hand inside the drugstore, thinking it’ll just be sticky like all other lip glosses. But it actually feels soft and, well, un-superglue-like. So off to the register I went. A decision that was mostly good, but a little bad… Continue reading

Ooooh. Look how pretty these green eyeshadows are! That’s what I thought when I picked up the L’Oreal Paris HiP Metallic Shadow Duo in Gunmetal. My thoughts after I tried it? I’m singing (in my head) a different tune.

Don’t get me wrong – the L’Oreal HiP Metallic Shadow Duo isn’t going in the trash. And I would still use it on occasion. But it’s not my go-to shadow. Continue reading

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear Plum Power Swatches

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear Plum Power is a pretty combination of pink and purple. But when I look at it, I expect there to be an undertone of blue for some reason, which it doesn’t have. Anyhoo, it’s still a pretty color that’s in no way subtle. Continue reading

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Light Cream Fortifying & Soothing 24Hr Hydrating Care Review

My skin is weird (like me). It’s dry, but some spots can get oily. And when I run my finger across the oily spots, I also see my skin flaking. Even still, I would classify it as dry. (One time, the lady who was threading my eyebrows actually commented on how dry my skin is. Kinda embarrassing.)

In my search of a moisturizer that hydrates without clogging, I decided to give Vichy Aqualia Thermal Light Cream Fortifying & Soothing 24Hr Hydrating Care a try. I like Vichy and am usually fond of their products, but this moisturizer…I‘m not overly enthusiastic about. Continue reading

GOSH Extreme Art Eye Liner Review – Olive Green

When it comes to eyeliner (my #1 must makeup product), I usually go with pencils – they’re super easy to apply, easy to perfect, easy to smudge and easy to get creative.

But when I saw the GOSH Extreme Art Eye Liner in Olive Green, I just had to have it. It’s such a nice shade – deep enough to not be wild, yet bright enough to have impact. Plus, it has a slight sparkly shimmer to it. Oh, the depth of this color! Not to mention: it’s “Extremely Waterproof.” Yes, you read that right – EXTREMELY.

So how did it fare? Good! The GOSH Cosmetics Extreme Art Eye Liner has me rethinking liquid eyeliners. Continue reading

Sephora Face Complexion Brush Review

** This post was written by Fiona. She no longer blogs for Swatch And Learn. However, Mary still continues to blog and will be happy to reply to your comment. **

For months, I’ve wanted the Clarisonic Skincare Brush. But what if I don’t like it? That’s a whole lot of $$ down the drain. So I decided to first try the Sephora Face Complexion Brush, a manual version of the expensive electronic one. I don’t know what I had hoped. Whether I love it or hate it, wouldn’t it just make me want the Clarisonic one more?

The Sephora brush was definitely worth the buy for me, but not for the reasons you might think… Continue reading

Nubar Classic Collection Pink Satin Swatches

** This post was written by Fiona. She no longer blogs for Swatch And Learn. However, Mary still continues to blog and will be happy to reply to your comment. **

I had ordered the Nubar Classic Collection Pink Satin online, and at the time I couldn’t find any swatches of it. But I wanted something soft and pretty (I usually wear darker colors)…and what’s softer and prettier than pink and satin, right? So I took a risk, and I’m glad I did. Continue reading
