SpaRitual Unconditional Love Review & Swatches

** This post was written by Fiona. She no longer blogs for Swatch And Learn. However, Mary still continues to blog and will be happy to reply to your comment. **

When I do my nails, I can’t ever just throw on any ol’ color. Oh, no. It involves a process. Do I feel feminine, dark, mysterious, sexy, daring, bold…? Once I decide, then I choose a color to go with that mood. And then I have to make sure the finish on that hue is juuuust right.

SpaRitual Unconditional Love will be a shade I wear when I’m feeling slightly luxurious and decadent. The shade is a mix of bronze and pink gold with a metallic-y finish that makes it look like foil. Check out the swatches to see just what I mean! Continue reading

Revlon No Shrinking Violet Review & Swatches

The colors you wear not only affect how you look, but they can really transform how you feel, too. Take purple for example – it makes me feel strong, feminine and regal! That’s why when I saw Revlon No Shrinking Violet, I just had to have it in my nail-polish collection.

In the bottle, it looks like it has a soft pearlescent finish to it. Unfortunately, it doesn’t quite translate on the nail. But I still like the Revlon No Shrinking Violet Nail Enamel for days when I need a color pick-me-up. Continue reading

e.l.f. Essentials Blending Eye Brush Review (e.l.f. Professional Blending Eye Brush)

In another review, I said that some e.l.f. brushes are kind of hard to judge because they’re good quality…”for the price.” But the e.l.f. Essentials Blending Eye Brush is different! This tool is great quality…despite the price.

The formerly named e.l.f. Essentials Blending Eye Brush is part of my everyday makeup arsenal. Find out why I‘m so glad that I got this little gem. Continue reading

Sephora by OPI Top Coat Review

When I first started doing my nails many moons ago, I never used base and top coats. I know – what faux pas! Then I grew older and wiser and started better protecting my manicures. It only makes sense after putting so much time and effort into them, right?

One of the TCs that I use is the Sephora by OPI Top Coat. I originally got this because I was drawn in by the brands, Sephora and OPI. Who knew two rights don’t make a better right… Continue reading

Ooh. La. And La. I’m not going to keep you waiting on what I really think about Urban Decay Ammo Shadow Box. It’s simply amazing.

UD created this palette to celebrate their 10-year anniversary, and there’s a reason why it’s still so popular: the colors are stunning, pigmented and blend well. What more could you really ask for? Continue reading

e.l.f. Essentials Foundation Brush Review (e.l.f. Professional Foundation Brush)

** This post was written by Fiona. She no longer blogs for Swatch And Learn. However, Mary still continues to blog and will be happy to reply to your comment. **

I find it slightly hard to review many of the e.l.f. brushes, and the e.l.f. Essentials Foundation Brush is no exception. Reason? Well, this brush is of decent quality.

Here lies the issue: For a $1, I think the (formerly named) e.l.f. Essential Foundation Brush is a good buy. The price of elf brushes seems to always be the qualifier. It is good…for the price. But if you’re willing to spend just a bit more, you’ll definitely be able to find a foundation brush of better quality and can give you better results. Continue reading

Marcelle Essentials Hydration Night Cream Review

** This post was written by Fiona. She no longer blogs for Swatch And Learn. However, Mary still continues to blog and will be happy to reply to your comment. **

I am very excited to announce that I found the most near-perfect night cream for me. Ever. And I’ve tried many and many.

Let me cut to the chase: Marcelle Essentials Hydration Night Cream gives me the hydration my dry skin needs. Yes, my skin feels super soft even when I wake up in the morning.

Why do I call it just “near-perfect”? Well, I’m demanding. I’d like to see someone or some brand create a cream that lasts 24 hours. This little baby does the trick for about 10 (an estimate – don’t quote me please), which is good. During the day though, my skin relies only on the hydration of my moisturizer with SPF, which isn’t enough. But that’s the only picky negative thing I can say about this cream. Continue reading
