After purchasing Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow Sunbaked Neutrals, I realized that I own a lot and a lot of green eyeshadows. I just think green is such a nice color! And this palette has one of the prettiest green eyeshadows of my collection!

e.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow Partier has the same issue as the previous shadows I’ve swatched and reviewed from this collection. The color on the elf website is not the same as the actual color. I’m really glad that I’m able to show you the actual color!

On the site, Partier looks almost like a midnight blue. It’s sexy and sultry – definitely a color I see myself wearing at a (non-office) party. And even in the container, the product has a slight blue hue to it. Definitely not the case on my eyes. Come see what I mean. Continue reading →

Pink is one of those colors that I like but think I can’t wear for some reason. It might be because my skin tone’s so light that I think pink just blends in. But let me introduce you to a pink that I think anyone, including myself, can pull off: Milani Digital!

The color is more of a rose with a tinge of purple than a baby pink, which is really flattering on many skin tones. I’m sure many of you have heard of how affordable e.l.f. brushes are. e.l.f. Cosmetics is able to offer cost-efficient makeup and products because they don’t use celebrity endorsements and pass the savings in advertising to their customers.

I appreciate that this company is dedicated to offering ways to accentuate natural beauty within budget… all the while without compromising principles against animal testing. It’s understandable that the quality of these affordable products isn’t as high as that of luxury brands, but my question is: has the quality been compromised so much that the products aren’t even worth the $1 they cost?

Even though I love checking out the e.l.f. site for sales and new colors, I’m always a little apprehensive in trying their products. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: their stuff is kind of hit and miss.

But they had a 50% off sale on their mineral eyeshadows, so I felt like I had to stock up. e.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow Socialite is one of the many colors I got, and it’s one of the best! Please don’t think of a certain hotel heiress when you see the name of this color. It’s the farthest thing from her! There’s depth and star power to this color. Continue reading →
