To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much from the Bath & Body Works Moisturizing Shampoo or Conditioner because it seems like I usually have to buy expensive haircare before I notice positive results.

The Bath and Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar Moisturizing Shampoo is a translucent golden color that’s reminiscent of apple juice.

Usually a translucent shampoo indicates that it’s best for oily hair. Normally I stay away from these types unless it has a nice scent because I have dry hair. But I got it because what can I say? I dig the whole spa-in-your-shower experience. And because I’m super stressed out these days, it’s the one time when I can truly unwind and forget about any worries.

Out of all the fragrances available for their haircare, I was drawn to Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar. Some people have been saying online that this scent has changed over the years (and not for the better), but since I’m new to it, I don’t have any point of reference with which to compare. Smells fine to me.

The Warm Vanilla Sugar shampoo smells pretty true to the current scent in the bodycare line from what I can tell. It’s a cleaner and crisper vanilla than the creamy vanillas like Vanilla Bean Noel. Instead of it having a thick or heavy quality, it smells light and airy.

The great thing about the Bath & Body Works Moisturizing Shampoo is that I only need less than a quarter-sized dollop of product to clean my shoulder-length hair. It produces a generous lather, which I like. There’s something really luxurious about feeling all those bubbles for some reason.

The shampoo definitely leaves my hair feeling clean, but a little too clean – it’s squeaky clean. I don’t like this because it usually means that the shampoo has stripped my hair of all its natural (and needed) oil. When it comes time to blowdrying, this translates to dry-as-straw a la The Scarecrow hair.

But…I never just use a shampoo by itself. Its friend, ole Conditioner, had to come along for the ride, too.

The Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar Moisturizing Conditioner is a pale custard-y cream. It’s nice and thick. Oddly, when I used this, I didn’t smell Warm Vanilla Sugar. I smelled just a hint of vanilla, but there was an overpowering fragrance that I’d best describe as a salty sea breeze.

Okay, so that sounds nasty. It doesn’t stink – it has a fresh, airy quality that reminds me of walking along the beach on a cool fall morning. It’s not offensive, but if you’re expecting Bath & Body Works’ signature Warm Vanilla Sugar scent, you’ll be disappointed.

I like to put the Bath & Body Works Moisturizing Conditioner first on the ends of my hair before finger-combing it upwards. Then I just let it sit as I clean the rest of my body.

When I rinsed it out, my hair felt soooooo silky – it really surprised me! But the biggest surprise was when I blow-dried my hair and then used my Sedu Flat Iron (as usual). Using the Bath & Body Works haircare products definitely made my hair easier to style straight and sleek. And throughout the day, my hair maintained this look without having to use styling products.

For the price, Bath and Body Works’ Warm Vanilla Sugar Moisturizing Conditioner and Shampoo are a steal! And for the end results you get, it’s a must-try as far as I’m concerned. And considering that you have a whole range of scents to choose from, there should be at least one that tickles your nose.

I really want to try these products again in the summer when it’s humid to see how well it locks in moisture while keeping humidity out. (I’ll update this post later when I do so you’ll know how it stacks up.)
