Circle your calendars for May, and celebrate your ‘unbirthday’ with the Mad Hatter of nail polish!
Things are getting curiouser and curiouser, as we tumble down the rabbit hole towards the OPI Alice Through the Looking Glass Collection (the OPI Brights 2016 Collection)!
Whether you want to paint the roses (err…nails) red, blue, or another colour, there’s a shade in the OPI Alice Through the Looking Glass Collection that’ll be your cup of tea.
Which colours are you most looking forward to?
I’m excited to see the nail polishes I put in the top row of my collage because they remind me the most of Alice and her dress.
Also, yes, this OPI Brights 2016 Collection is a tie-in to the Disney movie with the same name.
I’ll probably end up watching it just because the late-and-great Alan Rickman plays the Caterpillar. I highly respect Alan Rickman as an actor and as a person. On a superficial level, I love his voice so much, and I know that I’m not alone. (He could literally just read the names of all the nail polishes in my Helmers, and my heart would beat three times faster!)
P.S. The special-edition black polish with silver, What Time Isn’t It?, reminds me of a book I had when I was a child. It was called What Time Is It When It Isn’t?, and I remember loving the title. (The book never gave any answers, which made it more interesting.) After reading that book, whenever anyone asked me for the time, I secretly always wanted them to ask me, “Excuse me, but what time is it when it isn’t?” Even to this day, I have a strong urge to ask or get asked that question! It stuck with me all these years.
Edit (May 18, 2016): I published a blog post featuring swatches of the entire OPI Alice Through the Looking Glass Collection.

Mad About Colour: Brights 2016
DISNEY ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS COLLECTION BY OPI
The world’s number one salon nail lacquer brand has gone positively mad.
OPI is celebrating the May 2016 release of Disney Alice Through The Looking Glass with a new Brights collection inspired by the film’s mad, crazy, wonderful characters and their latest adventures. The story takes Alice back to the whimsical world of Wonderland, where she time travels to save the Mad Hatter, who is not himself.
The Brights collection features eight insanely gorgeous limited-edition shades (each available in both lacquer and GelColor formulas), plus a bonus special edition nail lacquer. Everyone is sure to find their cup of tea in these bright, bold colours fit for storybook and real-life heroines alike. There’s strength in mesmerizing blues, nobility in gleaming alabaster and glittering gold, and more than a little madness in saturated hues of lilac, burgundy, red and fuchsia.
The collaboration is OPI’s second with the successful Disney film franchise that began in 2010 with Alice in Wonderland.
“We are thrilled at this opportunity to capture even more of Wonderland’s fantasy, adventure, and whimsy,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Co-Founder and Brand Ambassador. “These shades truly say ‘wear me’, and let Alice fans indulge in a little madness of their own.” Disney Alice Through the Looking Glass Collection by OPI will debut in salons on May 1, 2016.
Disney Alice Through the Looking Glass Collection by OPI includes the following Brights shades in both nail lacquer and GelColor formulas:

Which of these OPI Alice Through the Looking Glass Collection shades are you most looking forward to? Do you have any of the original OPI Alice in Wonderland Collection 2010 nail polishes? Will you be seeing the Disney Alice Through the Looking Glass movie when it comes out?
**Sequels like a toddler on a sugar high** I LOVE this collection! I’m a die hard Alice in Wonderland and Tim Burton fan. I can’t wait to see the movie or the polishes!! LOL Thanks for sharing these with us. I’m looking forward to your reviews on the Wonderful colors. 🙂
Hey Melissa!
I have a feeling that the blues may be the first I’ll try. 🙂 We’ll see when they arrive. I’m waiting patiently!
Hmm, I just saw that apparently Ulta is selling them earlier than OPI’s official May release. Looks like some people will be able to get them ahead of time.
Oooo! I’ll have to get to Ulta soon and check it out. Thanks again for sharing these with us. I agree, the blues are probably the first ones that I will try.
We’re two peas in a pod. I’ll probably wear the blues as full manicures, too! 🙂
So unfair! I still haven’t gotten my hands on the pastels and now they’re announcing another collection that I definitely want polishes from. I guess there is no other solution… My husband just had to get himself another paper route 😉

Hmmmm. What Time Isn’t It looks a LOT like I Drive a Supernova, down to the exact same small bar glitter in a shinmery silver/gray base. Since I have Supernova that’s that, and the rest don’t wow me. I think they could have done a lot more with these, pity.
Hey Stephanie!
Aww, sorry to hear that you were let down by this collection. In good news, at least you’re saving up for a polish collection that interests you more! 🙂
Oops, I meant to say it looks like Is This Star Taken, not Supernova! Same collection though.
Hey Joyce!
Hehe, the release of new nail-polish collections is never-ending! That’s how they get us hooked! 😉
And maybe its not a LOT like it, but similar with the same type of glitter. The matte black I have to see to compare since I love those little bar glitters in ITST! I usually hate bar glitter but they are so small they don’t curl or stick out all wonky to catch on everything. I guess I was hoping for fewer creams and more shimmers and glitters and special FX for this collection. At least there are lots of blues, thats my weakness, my n/p kryptonite if you will, anything blue, teal, navy, seafoam, mint, sky blue, baby blue, periwinkle, cerulean, Tiffany blue, ocean blue, any kind of blue, I love them all.
Hey Stephanie!
Hehe, I know the bar glitters you’re talking about! I don’t like the kinds that curl or stick out, either. My favourite are the short kind. They seem to play well.
I’ve been feeling the blues, too! 🙂
I can’t wait to see how the Mirror Escape looks in person! That is the one that I am leaning towards right now!

Hey oh my nail polish!
Really curious to try these in person, too! 🙂 Hope the polishes arrive soon!
