OPI Infinite Shine To Be Continued… Swatches & Review

OPI Infinite Shine To Be Continued Swatches Review

OPI Infinite Shine To Be Continued… is a fairytale blue that tells a story, which doesn’t want to end. It would bring a smile to even Grumpy Bear’s cuddly face!

This shade might look familiar to you. I used it as the base colour under China Glaze Moonlight the Night in a recent review.

Also, it’s so close to Essie Bikini So Teeny that you could probably get away with owning one or the other instead of both.

OPI Infinite Shine To Be Continued… conveniently fits right in with Pantone’s Colour of the Year, Serenity, so when wearing this, you’ll feel like quite the trendy nailista.

If OPI Infinite Shine To Be Continued… were a nail polish that could sing, I’m sure that, all day, we’d hear it belt out, “This is the song that never ends. Yes it goes on and on, my friend. Some people started singing it not knowing what it was, and they’ll continue singing it forever just because it is the song that never ends…” 😉

OPI Infinite Shine To Be Continued… Review

Colour

OPI Infinite Shine To Be Continued… is a delicate cornflower or periwinkle blue that makes you think of a childhood lullaby and stars cast around a crescent moon.

While it’s a soft shade, it isn’t timid, as it has a clean tone that leaves fingernails (or toenails) looking fresh and ready to tackle spring!

I think that it’s so close to the ever-popular Essie Bikini So Teeny. You don’t need both nail polishes because they’re very similar.

Finish

The finish of OPI Infinite Shine To Be Continued… is very creamy and smooth. It’s easy to apply and to remove. No struggles here!

Application & Formula

Compared to Essie Bikini So Teeny, I found that OPI Infinite Shine To Be Continued… applied just a wee bit better, but both need to be built up in order to achieve full opacity with no streaks.

Also, the formula isn’t heavily pigmented, so you will need to use three coats, or you’ll still be able to see your nail line.

Ingredients

OPI Infinite Shine To Be Continued… is free of Formaldehyde, Toluene, and DBP, which you may appreciate if you’re allergic to those ingredients, or if you’re making conscious shopping decisions.

Pros

  • Pretty blue
  • Aligned with Pantone’s trendy Colour of the Year, Serenity
  • Makes your manicure look crisp & fresh
  • Creamy, smooth finish
  • Buildable opacity
  • No Formaldehyde, Toluene, or DBP

Cons

  • Needs 3 coats for full opacity (I put that as a Con because some people may not like using more than 2 coats. For me, 3 coats is fine.)

Final Verdict: 9/10

For a manicure or pedicure that’s totally on trend now and aligned with Pantone’s Colour of the Year, Serenity, this is a great choice! Also, it’s one of those colours that I feel is flattering on pretty much everyone!

What is your favourite Serenity-inspired shade? Do you own many OPI Infinite Shine nail polishes?

Goregous! I’m really loving this color and it’s not a shade I typically gravitate too. Thanks for sharing it with us. It looks great on you!!

      Hey Melissa!

Thank you so much! 🙂 Although I don’t wear this colour often, whenever I do, I always think, “Why DON’T I wear it more?” It’s such a calming colour. Love it!

D you have to use the specific top coat with the Infinite Shine polishes?
I like the polish- a better version of my beloved lumpy streaky Bikini so Teeny would be wonderful!

      Hey MissKat!

While OPI recommends that you use their Infinite Shine top coat, I’ve tried using Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat and Rica Glossy Glam Top Coat on many different occasions without any noticeable difference in the wear. In my opinion, you can wear any base or top coat with the OPI Infinite Shine polishes, but you just have to find the combination that works with your nail chemistry.

OPI Infinite Shine To Be Continued… has a slightly better formula than the Essie. I still wouldn’t say that To Be Continued… has an AMAZING formula, but it did cover my nails better, so I think it’s more pigmented and it wasn’t as streaky as the Essie. (Still, I love both polishes because the colour is worth the extra effort!)
