New York Fashion Week (NYFW) is when nailphiles like me get excited because not only do you gain colour inspiration from talented fashion designers, but you can see upcoming nail, style, and beauty trends.
You probably visit Swatch And Learn because you’re a fellow beauty fan, and, if you’re like me, you’ll enjoy seeing the nail polishes and other beauty products we love in action. Witnessing how all the elements play a salient role to pull an entire ensemble together truly makes runway shows art in motion.
Since some of you enjoyed my posts on the blog and social media about NYFW Days 1 and 2, I’m going to post more.
Today’s post features looks from Essie New York Fashion Week Day 3!
My favourite look from Day 3 is the one above, which was from the Brooks Brothers by Zac Posen show.
I’m a fan of combining red (or orange) and blue because they’re strong shades that create a powerful manicure. (Together, they make me think of Superwoman! I’ve been known to combine the shades in my fashion, too, like in my Instagram photo here.)
Check out the rest of this blog post for additional photos from the Alexander Wang, Brooks Brothers by Zac Posen, and Altuzarra shows. (All photos in this post are courtesy of Essie.)
Alexander Wang
Alexander Wang celebrated his 10th anniversary with a throwback party.
On the nails: Essie Cocktails & Coconuts and Essie Matte About You
Brooks Brothers
After Zac Posen was signed as the Creative Director for Brooks Brothers, the American fashion staple infused new colourful life into their spring/summer 2016 collection.
On the nails: Essie Fifth Avenue and Essie Bikini So Teeny
Altuzarra
Joseph Altuzarra kept it cool with a delicate moon.
On the nails: Essie Like Linen and Essie Au Natural
Stay tuned because I’ll put together another post from NYFW for Day 4!
Which is your favourite look from Essie NYFW Day 3? Do you also enjoy combining bold shades like red and blue? Which fashion designer gives you the greatest colour inspiration?
I’m liking all of the looks, but Brooks Brothers is my favorite. Thanks for sharing them with us!
Hey Melissa!
Thanks for checking out my ‘fashion’ post. It’s always interesting to see how designers draw from many different sources of inspiration and then choose the colour or nail art to complement the clothes.
More New York Fashion Week posts are coming. I’ll try to space them out, though, so you’ll still see my usual nail-polish reviews.
Very cool. Nail polish is definitely a look-completer for me. I always notice when someone isn’t wearing it or has let to go too long. Very glad it’s not overlooked for NYFW.

Hey Lizzy!
Same here – Hehe, especially when people talk with their hands (like I do), my eyes are drawn to their fingertips! 🙂
When I was backstage at a fashion show before, I saw how the nail technicians painted the models’ nails. It was crazy what a short timeframe they have to get it all done and still have it look beautiful. True professionals!
