OPI Can’t Hear Myself Pink! Swatches & Review

OPI Can't Hear Myself Pink Swatches & ReviewOPI Can’t Hear Myself Pink! is from the Brights 2015 Collection, and it’s shimmery with a metallic quality.

This is exactly the type of ‘princess shade’ that would make my eyes light up when I was a little girl.

Pfft – forget “On Wednesdays, we wear pink!” 😉 In grade school, I wore pink on a daily basis!

Then, as a teenager, I grew to love purple.

Hehe, now that I’m a sweet raisin, you know that green is what puts hearts in my pupils.

Key Notes

OPI Can’t Hear Myself Pink! Review

Colour

Can’t Hear Myself Pink! by OPI is really an intriguing polish to drool over in the bottle because I could see orange in certain lighting, and it gives the polish a fiery nuance.

But it doesn’t translate as strongly on the nail as it looks in the bottle, so don’t let it fool you. That being said, at certain angles and in some lighting, you can see a very little bit of orange peek through, mainly on the edges of your nails.

Mostly, it’s an Elle-Woods-Barbie pink that has a lot of personality!

Finish

It’s so full of shimmer that, from a distance, it looks metallic and exceptionally shiny.

Application & Formula

The first coat of Can’t Hear Myself Pink! by OPI is on the sheer side, so to reach full opacity, I needed to use three coats.

The formula is thin and a bit watery, so be extra careful to not load up your brush too much with polish, or it could be easy to flood your cuticles.

I suggest applying thin coats. Even if you have to use four coats, the consistency of this polish is easier to control when you have less on the brush.

Pros

  • Barbie pink
  • So shimmery that it looks metallic
  • Mesmerizing to admire in the bottle because the orange is so bold

Cons

  • The duochrome that you see in the bottle doesn’t translate as strongly onto the nails
  • It’s sheer, so you’ll need to build up its opacity with at least 3 coats
  • The formula is watery, so if you’re not careful or load up your brush too much, you could easily flood your cuticles by accident

Final Verdict: 6.5/10

If you’re a pink nail-polish lover, you may get really excited over this one, however, it takes a lot for me to fall head over heads with a pink these day. Greens, blues, and purples are more my speed. For that reason, coupled with how this polish has a sheer and watery formula made me deduct points.

Is this a pink that you would wear? What was your first favourite colour ever, and did that change a few times as you got older? Is there one colour that you rarely wear on your nails?

It looks so pretty and I usually don’t like pink. But I like this colour a lot.
I loved blue when I was a small child. Today I like all colours as long as they don’t get to washed out or “dirty” and wear all of them if they don’t clash with my skintone. For Polishes I wear everything I like. Mostly green, blue and plum and berry shades (from brambleberry, raspberry, strawberrys, black currants to red currants). And sometimes I need something extremely bright like CG Sun Worshipper or Orly Mayhem Mentality <3. The colour I wear least is pink I think I only own three pink polishes.
I usually am a sucker for bold colours.

    Thanks for the swatches 🙂

      Hey Akima!

Oh, those are great neons. You have great taste! 😉 Hehe, I’m going to be sharing some nail art I did, and Sun Worshiper is one of the colours I used. Great minds paint alike! 😉

Thanks for sharing swatches of this color. It’s really pretty, but it’s not a polish I would reach for on a regular basis. I’m not a big fan of pink. It looks great on you! 🙂

      Hey Melissa!

We’re very similar on our opinions about pink polish in general. (I can admire it more in the bottle, but it doesn’t make me go gaga when it’s on my nails.)

This is such a lovely pink and I have a friend that would just fall head over heels for it but it’s not a color that jumps out at me. My favorite color is still the same color it was for as long as I can remember..PURPLE!! LOL. It didn’t change and I don’t think that it ever will. I don’t have a color I wear on my nails often (I mean if I could I would just wear purple) because I try to give other colors a chance.

      Hey Sasha!

Spoken like a true nailphile! 🙂 I like how you’re open-minded and willing to try the whole spectrum of colours. That’s really how you find the surprising little gems that you might not come across otherwise. It’s through experimenting that we learn a lot! Good for you! 😀

This is very true! Because I’ve tried different colours there a some that I would actually wear now that I wouldn’t even have looked at before!
