OPI Sorry I’m Fizzy Today is a cute pink nail polish from the Coca-Cola Collection that reminds me of bubblegum!
When I was in elementary school, I was obsessed with chewing gum. However, teachers would often have a classroom rule that students weren’t allowed to do so.
(To this day, I still think it’s silly. As long as you throw your gum in the garbage and don’t stick it on the desks or anywhere else you shouldn’t, I think it’s fine! Also, when you tell kids not to do something, it actually just makes them want to do it more!)
My friends and I sneakily chewed gum when we thought the teacher wasn’t looking. And when he suspected someone was chewing gum, he’d literally look inside your mouth and under your tongue. It was pretty ridiculous!
Kids are smart. So what my friends and I did was just stick the wad of gum on the roof of our mouths. He never thought to look up. (Some kids, unfortunately, swallowed their gum nervously.)
If you were caught, he’d tell you to write 100 lines saying something like “I will not chew gum in class.” Haha, since I always loved to write, that didn’t sound like a punishment at all. (To punish me, you’d probably have to force me not to write!)
One day, I decided that I wanted to enjoy my gum and chew it boldly without worrying about the teacher finding out. So, I wrote the lines the night before and brought it to class the next morning.
After chewing very noticeably and constantly, the teacher saw me, and assigned lines. I smugly reached into my desk, pulled out the pre-written lines, and handed it to him mere seconds after his request.
With a surprised look on his face, he took the paper, and then let a small smile escape.
I was allowed to chew my gum for the rest of the class because there was another silly rule. After you wrote the lines, you could continue chewing gum in class that day!
It was only after I handed in pre-written lines a few more times that the teacher finally changed the rule, saying that we were allowed to chew gum in class, as long as we didn’t blow bubbles. I chewed away happily!
Only a few times did I ‘forget’ and blow a few bubbles in class. 😉 Hehe!
The moral of the story isn’t to break rules. It’s that I don’t think we should follow silly rules blindly. Challenge and re-evaluation are sometimes necessary. Strong rules will hold up against questioning, but weak ones may need to be altered. (If there’s one thing you learn in school, it’s to think critically!)
But now, back to the nail polish! Haha, funny how OPI Sorry I’m Fizzy Today made me so nostalgic about gum! Guess I actually am feeling fizzy today? 😉

OPI Sorry I’m Fizzy Today Review
Colour
Sorry I’m Fizzy Today by OPI is a sweet and happy pink that seems to have a touch of coral when I wear it in certain lighting. But, overall, it looks like a cheerful bubblegum pink. It’s not loud like a neon, but it’s not dusty, either.
It’s extremely easy to sport, and if you are a fan of pinks, this one is a staple in any collection.
Finish
The creamy finish is what I like about this the most because it allows the simplicity of the colour to shine through.
This would make an excellent base for nail art, but I think it looks cute on its own, too.
Application & Formula
I didn’t have any application issues with Sorry I’m Fizzy Today by OPI. With two medium coats, I got great coverage, and I couldn’t see any bald patches. The formula is good!

Final Verdict: 6/10
Sorry I’m Fizzy Today by OPI is a nice pink, but, if you follow my blog, you’ll know that loud and/or unique shades get my pulse racing!
This would be a great colour for those who are starting their polish collection and need a standard pink that they’ll get a lot of use out of. You can never go wrong having a sweet pink in your collection, especially when Valentine’s Day or Breast Cancer Awareness Month roll around! 🙂
Do you own a lot of pink nail polishes? What was the most recent pink polish you wore? Are you feeling fizzy today? 😉
I’m not a pink person, but I’m really liking this color. It is the perfect shade of “old school bubblegum”. And it looks so great on you! Thanks as always for sharing! 🙂
Hey Melissa!
As usual, it’s my pleasure! Thanks for being so supportive and following my blog for a long time. It means so much to me!
Haha! You were slick! 🙂 Awesome story. Pretty color too.

Hey Sarah!
Haha, yeah…apparently I was VERY passionate about chewing gum freely! 😉 When I think back now, I was chewing gum a lot (in general). I don’t even chew gum as much now that I’m older.
I don’t think that’s a silly rule. Maybe it just me but when I hear someone chewing gum “boldly” and open mouthed it makes me cringe and makes me feel like I’m chewing that same piece of gum with them. Gross. Its also distracting and rude. If you’re talking to your friend and they were chewng gum that’s okay because that’s your friend. But if you teacher is teaching and you chew your gum like that, that says “I don’t care what you’re saying because I rather hear gum chewing than the info you’re trying to give me”. Not to mention the fact that once you have gum everyone around you is going to go “hey, let me get a piece” and are going to pay attention to your gum instead of the teacher. I’m a teen by the way 😉 anyway that color reminds me of gum to but i already have 2 pinks that I think look just like that.
Hey Megan!
Haha, when I said “boldly”, I didn’t mean smacking the gum and chewing with my mouth open! 😉 I just meant that instead of chewing secretly when the teacher wasn’t looking and then stopping when the teacher turned around, I just kept chewing no matter if the teacher was looking or not. Hope that clarifies it. Haha, I also find it rude when people chew with their mouth open. If they do it a little, it doesn’t bug me, but if they constantly chew with an open mouth, it’s not nice.
This colour looks awesome for pedicures! I may have to go pick it up before my upcoming vacation!
Hey Jeannelle!
Yes, it would look really cute as a pedicure! 🙂
Enjoy your vacation! Where are you going?
I love pink and this one is quite pretty. I think it would make a nice pedi colour!
Hey Susan!
I can see that – it’d be cute!
The shade is gorgeous…it looks beautiful on your nails. 🙂
Hey Rashmi!
Thank you very much!
Haha I can see why this polish color reminded you of gum! What a cute shade of pink 🙂
Hey Jessica!
Hehe, glad I wasn’t the only one who thought so! 😉
Love that shade of pink! So pretty on you! 🙂
Hey Amanda!
Thank you very much! This would be great to wear in October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
I love this shade! I have it as well and have been sporting it today. During the months of October,!November and December I’m all into burgundy, oxblood, navy and maroon. Now that January is pretty much here, I’m getting so sick of these dark shades and am looking forward to spring so I can bring out my corals! 80 more days!
Hey Lynsea!
First of all, I love the way your name is spelled – cool twist!
I know what you mean about getting tired of dark colours now. I’m ready for all the spring and summer collections already!
