Before you know it, Christmas will be here and the beautiful sparkly snow will come down for a winter wonderland. It’s a bit early, but I was feeling festive and decided to swatch a new green – Orly Meet Me Under the Mistletoe (from the Orly ‘Tis the Season Collection).
I’m really impressed with Orly’s formula – so far I’ve never come across a thick or unruly formula, and I’ve also never gotten a defective or misshapen brush. So in my books, Orly deserves bragging rights!
If you’re a green nail-polish lover like I am, this is a definitely must-have as you’ll be able to see in my Orly Meet Me Under the Mistletoe swatches.

Orly Meet Me Under the Mistletoe Review
Even though I’ve worn every single color in the rainbow, I’m most drawn to greens when it comes to nail polish. Whenever a new collection comes out, I’m always hoping that there’s a new green.
A few months ago, the Orly ‘Tis the Season Holiday Collection became available online, so of course I ordered the green – Orly Meet Me Under the Mistletoe. After wearing it for several days, it doesn’t disappoint!
The base is a rich evergreen, but what differentiates it from the sea of generic greens are the flakies. They slightly lighten up the overall appearance while adding depth and some glitz. The different-shaped flakies are a grassy, yellowish green that really compliment the deeper base color.
Orly Meet Me Under the Mistletoe nail polish has a fantastic formula! I have to say that Orly is so far the only brand that’s been consistent for me in terms of quality. The polish was thin yet not watery, so it wasn’t tricky to apply. And it’s self-leveling (i.e. even if you accidentally put too much polish in one spot on your nail, it smooths out evenly by itself).
And unlike some other people’s Orly nail polish reviews stating that the dry time is longer than usual, I’ve actually had the exact opposite experience – all the colors I’ve worn dry quick. Maybe it’s because I only got into Orly recently. Perhaps they’ve tweaked the formula and the slow-dry formula only applies to the older colors.
The rubberized cap is a great feature – helps you open up the bottle easier and apply the polish with greater control. And I also appreciate how each Orly bottle contains 18 mL of polish compared to the standard 15 mL.
I even like the bottle shape. It’s not too wide, not too tall, and not too small – just right. It belongs to Baby Bear if there was a Nail-Polish Goldilocks fairytale!
This is what I wore under and over the nail polish:
- 1 coat of Nail Tek Foundation III (Ridge-filling Base Coat)
- 1 coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat
In one of my previous posts, I reviewed China Glaze Emerald Sparkle (an awesome sparkly green that’s easily in my list of Top 5 Favorite Greens of All Time). You may be wondering how it compares to Orly Meet Me Under the Mistletoe, so I did a little graphic cut-and-pasting to let you see a side-by-side comparison.
