China Glaze Emerald Sparkle is like the first guy you kissed – unforgettable. But like a good boyfriend, it’s always there for you when you need a pick-me-up. And like the David Beckham look-alike in your lecture hall, it’s so gorgeous you can’t take your eyes off it!
I clearly remember drooling over Scrangie’s swatches of this beauty from the 2008 Sleigh Ride Collection – it was everything I ever wanted in a green polish.
China Glaze Emerald Sparkle is dark without looking black and is very sparkly. Plus the formula’s easy to work with.
This is definitely Old Faithful, but with a whole lot of spunk! Although I like to wear this color anytime, it’s one of my top favorites to wear around Christmas. Reminds me of evergreens.
I’ll tell you more about it in my detailed review, and be sure to check out the swatches!

China Glaze Emerald Sparkle Review
Emerald Sparkle by China Glaze is a thing of beauty. It’s a rich forest color jam-packed with green glitter. Whenever I wear this, I always find myself staring at my nails throughout the day. And considering that I have over 200 bottles of polish yet have worn this several times, that should speak volumes as to how much I love it.
The formula is also absolutely perfect. In a single coat, you get near-full opaque coverage, but I always like to use a minimum of two color coats to make it look even. And it truly wears like iron – I can easily get a full week’s wear out of this and then some before I start seeing tip wear.
And because this contains pieces of glitter, it can be more time-consuming to remove. But trust me, it’s worth the hassle because of the gorgeous color!
China Glaze Emerald Sparkle is such a beloved color that it was re-released with last year’s China Glaze Love You So Much Collection. Even though it’s been around for a while, it’s fairly easy to get your hands on this mesmerizing color.
This is what I wore under and over the nail polish:
- 1 coat of Nail Tek Foundation III (Ridge-filling Base Coat)
- 1 coat of Creative Stickey (Base Coat)
- 1 coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat
