Not long ago, I shared the OPI Brazil Collection press release and promo pictures on here.
Well, if you followed me on Instagram, on Monday night, you saw that I posted a few photos and video clips unveiling the actual bottles!
Today, I am so excited to share with you a Quick Look post on the OPI Brazil Collection for Spring/Summer 2014, which will hit stores in February!
This collection had me drooling from the press release, but now that I’ve seen them in person, I’m drooling even more. (Excuse me as I carefully wipe my keyboard dry.)
There are bright shades (like yellow, peach, and orange) that totally remind me of the warm weather. Boy am I ever sick of winter! (Haha, I know…what kind of Canadian am I? Cold weather and I don’t get along at all.)
Then there are some neutrals to create a nice contrast to the bright shades. And, of course, I’m very excited about the green because, well, I’m a green fiend. But, it’s also neat how that one’s in the collection since it really stands out, doesn’t it?
If you look closely at the oranges and then at the neutrals, you can see how it’d be possible to do an easy ombre effect. Very cool!
They look so pretty together in a circle! 🙂
Let’s start off with the bright shades, shall we?

Stay tuned because I’ll definitely be sharing my manicures that I’ve used these shades! My future reviews on these will be in-depth (as usual) with manicure photos taken in various lighting conditions.
Of these quick swatches, which ones stand out to you the most? Are there any must-haves? Are you looking forward to the warm weather, or are you a fan of the winter?
Ooooh, I can’t wait for swatches! I really like the look of Next Stop The Bikini Zone and AmazOn AmazOFF but knowing what an OPI nut I am I’ll probably end up with the entire collection. As I look out my office window at the blowing snow……no, I am not a fan of winter! I moved here from Florida haha!

Hey Erin!
Wow, that must’ve been quite a shock to get used to the cold weather. What did you do to adjust faster?
Haha, I feel like I’m an old lady sometimes because I tend to feel cold. My feet and fingers are like blocks of ice. 😉 But I can take the heat, and in fact, I enjoy it a lot. Then again, I’m living in Canada, so it doesn’t get as crazy hot as other places in the world.
*sighs* looks at crying wallet *sighs again*
I could say I just want the green one, and maybe the taupe-pink-purple ones… but who am I kidding?
I want them all!
Hey Joyce!
Haha, nail polishes are like potato chips, right? You can’t just stop at one! 😉
Kiss Me I’m Brazilian and Red Hot Rio look amazing! Cannot wait to try these! 🙂 Thank you for the preview! 🙂
Hey Ashly!
It’s my pleasure! I love sharing these sneak peeks with readers who are as excited about the launches as I am! Glad you enjoy these Quick Look posts! 🙂
I DID see these on your IG, and I have to agree that AmazON…AmazOFF is just killing me. It looks deeper/bluer than Jade is the New Black, maybe? Close, but different enough that I’d pick it up. It’s totally in my colour profile. 😉
Where Did Suzi’s Man-go? is also appealing — maybe not my usual go-to, but I think it’d be perfect for a summer pedi!

Hey Kalyn!
Thanks for checking out my Instagram account! 🙂
I wish you were here when I was unpacking the polishes the very night I came home from work and saw them. My jaw dropped when I saw the green. It’s so rich and gorgeous! Hehe, some women can’t have enough shoes. But, for me, I just can’t get enough green nail polishes!
Love love love them !!
Hey Cris!
I can’t wait to share with you an in-depth look at more shades! 🙂 They are so great for spring and summer, but really anytime you want to think of the warm weather!
I’m really curious to see if there are any dupes in this collection to China Glaze or any other brand… I wanna get the whole collection because I’m weird like that LOL… I just hate having dupes…
Hey Catherine!
I understand that you want to save money and avoid dupes – it’s smart to be an informed shopper! When I show more in-depth reviews on these polishes, I’ll try to mention any potential dupes, if they spring to mind. (If any readers can think of dupes, please feel free to chime in with a comment, too! We’re all ‘swatching and learning’! 😉
When I saw the press release for this collection I was pretty meh about it, except for the green. But now? I’ve just counted five that I MUST have!
Hey Ginger!
They look so much better in person than the promo pictures, right? 🙂 The oranges are pretty exciting, especially because I don’t have as many of those. But the green is striking! *Gasp*
I keep reading that Amazon is a stainer but I am still tempted. Love all the neutral ones and Red Hot Rio calling my name, as well. Looking forward to your swatch and reviews.
Hey Lorraine!
It’s so gorgeous! I’m going to have to double-up with my base coat then to try to prevent any staining. Thanks for the heads up!
So far, these are the definite must haves:
I Just Can’t Cope-acabana
Where Did Suzi’s Man-go?
Toucan Do It If You Try
Live.Love.Carnaval
Kiss Me I’m Brazilian
Red Hot Rio
Tried telling myself that I don’t need another yellow or red, but who are we kidding? Those brights draw me like a moth to flame. Can’t wait to see your swatches. I’ve been scouring the web for 2 weeks looking for something other than promo pics because promos never seem to capture the true colors. It will be so exciting to see them in ‘normal’ lighting…does that make sense?
Hey Karen!
Wow, you’ve listed a lot of must-haves! 😉 Written like a true nailphile. Love it!
Especially when the winter is so cold and gloomy, it’s refreshing to see such bright colours that remind us that spring will soon be here.
Stay tuned because I’ll be showing them in natural light in my future in-depth posts. I agree with you that natural lighting really gives you a better idea of the personality of a polish. That’s why I always take manicure photos in natural light. But then I add flash photos so people can see the base colour. Then, if I’m really lucky and the sun comes out while, I try to snap more photos, since some polishes (like holographics) look waaaay different under the sun!
Loving these colors, especially the bright ones. But the darker shades are nice too. Oh it’s going to be hard to pick just one or two or three or….
Hey Melissa!
Haha! 😉
One. Two. Three. Four. Melissa’s gonna buy some more!
Five. Six. Seven. Eight. OPI is nailphile bait!
Sorry, I just couldn’t help but be silly and give you a little rhyme.
OPI Scores a Goal!
AmazON…AmazOFF
Those are great my shades
Hey Icequeen81!
Hope you really love them if you decide to pick them up! I was majorly drooling when I first caught sight of AmazON…AmazOFF! Sooooo gorgeous and saturated.
you were? do you still like them after seeing them?
It is is hard to say if I can pick them they are hardly available on the island, so far I know one store. And there are issues about their animal testing status, which I am not sure if they do or don’t.
But after seeing your swatches they look like shade I want to wear.
Yes, I love them even more after seeing them in person. Plus I’ve worn a few on my actual nails since receiving the collection, and I’m very excited to share even more reviews on them in the next little while!
My 2 needs are Where Did Suzi’s Man-go? and OPI Scores A Goal
Hey Beachgal!
I like how they named a polish after what I assume is soccer, since Brazil is known for their soccer team. 🙂 I would like to see more sports-oriented collections in the future.
I have to look at these more before deciding, but there’s not one I don’t like! Personally, I like winter better than summer (over 75 degrees and YT is in the house with the A/C on) but often wear neons in winter because…well…that’s the way I am!
Hey Pam!
I’m with you on wearing neons in the winter! They’re a great way to make you smile, even when it’s freezing outside!
Mary,
I’ve enjoyed your quick look: it gave me more hint about my picks from this collection. Where to start? This seems a half-summery collection, because of the dark shades and the neutrals. I like this part of the collection, as it’s rather unusual, but, while I’ll definitely get AmazON-AmazOFF, OPI scores a goal, Next stop..The bikini zone,I Sao Paulo Over There, I’m still on the fence about the other shades, as I think they are already in my stash, just with different names. But how can a summery collection miss a yellow, or a coral, or an orange or a warm red hue? It’s impossible to imagine it without them! So the only path to follow is to wait to see them in person to check how dupable are them, in order to save money for more unique shades! Anyway this collection has a wide range of choices for any polish-lover.
Great preview!
Hey Floria!
Thanks for visiting and taking the time to leave a thoughtful comment! 🙂
Stay tuned in the next few days. I’m going to be reviewing some more of these polishes as well as the ones from the OPI Beach Sandies minis on here.
I feel like the second half of this collection is much more Autumn/Winter in colour and they feel a lot like Nails Inc shades that I already have. If I didn’t already have dupes then I would probably be tempted by a couple of them. The bright half of this collection – wow! So nice to get away from pastels for spring and yet not be seeing neons for the summer, can’t wait to hear your verdict on colour and application as a lot of these colours (orange and yellow) have notoriously bad formulas in my experience.
I would be interested to see how the red compares to their other reds as we’ve been seeing a lot from OPI and whilst I love a red polish I am beginning to get raised eyebrows from the rest of my family about whether I need ANOTHER red that isn’t entirely different from previous reds.
Thanks for the great quick previews!!
Hey Charlotte!
Hope that you’ve been enjoying my separate reviews on the shades I’ve published so far since this post. Stay tuned in the next little while because I’ll be reviewing more in-depth! 🙂
Hi Mary! Thanks for the early previews. I am in love with the bright colors in this collection! Here in Barbados we have sandal weather year round so I’m always excited by new pedi colors 😀
AmazON…AmazOFF is one of the most gorgeous shades! I just adore teals/ greens.
Live. Love. Carnaval looks like another MUST (based on the name alone haha). I was wondering how close it is to OPI’s Cajun Shrimp. Would it be possible for you to do a side by side comparison?
Hey Katrina!
It’s my pleasure! I think it’s so rewarding to share my excitement about new collections with fellow nailphiles who understand. That connection and participation makes all the difference.
I wish I could do the comparison swatches for you, but believe it or not, I don’t have OPI Cajun Shrimp! I’ve seen it all over the internet and thought it’s such a fun, vibrant shade, but oddly, it never made it into my collection.
