Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Fast Forward to Fashion Collection Press Release & Promo Pictures

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Fast Forward to Fashion CollectionYou may remember that not long ago, I reviewed and swatched No S-pear Time. Well, it was from the limited-edition Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Fast Forward to Fashion Collection!

There are 8 shades in total, and even though the press release I’m going to share with you today says they’re available in September, I’ve still seen them sold at Shoppers Drug Mart.

And I’ve confirmed with PR (who sent me the promo pictures and information) that these shades are indeed still in stock. So, that’s great news if any of them interest you.

I picked up Red-io Active at Target the other day…okay, it actually jumped into my hand and refused to leave, but that’s how it goes sometimes.

It’s absolutely gorgeous…kinda like those beautiful satin finish red Christmas balls that people use for holiday decorating–you know, the ones you can’t resist touching because they shimmer and shine and just make you feel happy. 😀

      Hey Karen!

Oh, I know how those sneaky polishes are – jumping into hands, carts, Helmers! 😉

I’m so tempted to pick up Red-io Active. I keep hearing people gush about that one, and your description makes it sound even more lovely!

Heh, I think Sally Hansen is the most disproportionately overpriced of all the overseas brands we get here. It costs $14 a bottle, so I’ve never bothered buying them. ’tis a pity though! And oddly uneven, considering that Orly costs about $4 and Revlon costs about $3. I will never understand how they determine import pricing here, I swear.

I actually agree with Fedora that the pricing for Sally Hansen is perplexing. And unlike Fedora, I live in the US, where the Sally Hansen brand is based. Their CSM line is as expensive as an Essie or Orly polish, and the pricing on some of their other lines isn’t far behind. All of the SH polishes I own are items I obtained on sale or at discount stores, because their regular pricing is so high.

      Hey FedoraHarp!

      Phew – $14 a bottle? I couldn’t be a nailphile where you are, that’s for sure!

Yes, it would be interesting to find out why. Must be something to do with their distributor – just a guess.

Aw, you could be a nailphile. We have affordable domestic brands here that are actually really nice- I’m currently swatching the new liquid sands from one of my favorites, Ga-De, and checking blogs between layers 😀

      Hey Kat!

Glad that you’re enjoying Jet Set Jade!

Aww, yeah, I’ve noticed that a lot of times, promo photos don’t do the actual polish justice. It’s a pity because sometimes people ignore polishes based on the computer-rendered graphics that accompany press releases!

I like all those colors, especially the greens and purples. I haven’t bought a Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in a few years. I like them, but I always forget they’re quick drying so I tend to paint too thin coats.

      Hey Tanya!

With the formula on these, it’s probably wise to paint thin coats, though. When I wore No S-pear Time, I used medium coats, which were too thick for this formula. It bubbled a little. Thin coats would’ve avoided this.

All the shades in this collection are even better in person! The display I saw made me drool – more interesting than the promo pictures, actually!

I have quite a collection of SH Insta-Dri. I love the shape of the bottle, actually. Easy to hold and can pack several in a small corner of the polish drawer. I mostly use them for stamping, but occasionally use them as a base. The only one I picked up from this collection was Chop Chop Copper (the display was pretty picked over). I was a little disappointed because it is more of a foil that needs at least two coats for full coverage, which means that it won’t be as good for stamping. Oh well, still very lovely on it’s own.

Hey Light of the Moon Nails!

Good idea to use them for stamping! They’re so pigmented. I’ve gotta try that sometime!

Interesting that the display near you was almost picked clean. The one I saw just had one missing polish. Maybe they got the display late.

Thanks for sharing this press release, Mary! The Sally Hansen brand has a lot of great polishes that don’t get their share of blog love! I like or love all the SH Insta-Dris that I own.

I really recommend checking out this collection in person. The displays I’ve found have it on the bottom shelf, where I ignored it because none of the colors seemed very unique. Once I actually examined them up close…….what a different story! A lot of the polishes in this collection are quite gorgeous. I’ve heard great things about Redio Active and Jet Set Jade. It also seems like Chop Chop Copper is very close to a beloved and discontinued polish from OPI, Warm and Fozzie.

      Hey Another Cristina!

It’s my pleasure! 🙂 I agree with you that Sally Hansen has plenty of stellar polishes, and when you can find them at drugstores on sale, it’s even better!

I was drooling when I saw the display at Shoppers Drug Mart – they for sure look more interesting than the promo pictures. Funny how computer-rendered graphics sometimes look flat. The shades in this collection are far from flat! Haha!
