China Glaze Red-y & Willing Swatches & Review

China Glaze Red-y & Willing Swatches & ReviewChina Glaze Red-y & Willing from the Autumn Nights Collection is a sexy lacquer that’ll make nailphiles need to fan themselves just to cool off!

This hot tamale not only has a sultry colour, but the formulation on this is a joy to paint with.

As you know, I don’t usually go nuts over red nail polishes. (There have been just a few exceptions.) This one got me excited because it has a vampire-esque, cloak-of-darkness attitude with an edgy attitude.

Wow, I continue to be impressed by the China Glaze Autumn Nights Collection – it’s on a roll!

Key Notes

China Glaze Red-y & Willing Review

Colour

Red-y & Willing by China Glaze looks dark and seductive, so it’s more interesting than your typical red nail polishes.

While it’s mainly a maroon or a rich ruby, the shimmer has a little bit of fuchsia that blends in and gives it a little flash, as if to say, “Look at me!”

Finish

This has a shimmery finish, so your nails don’t look flat. It also catches the light for a lit-from-within effect that has a gothic sensibility.

If you enjoy red nail polishes, but want something that’s edgier than your classic red, this is a great choice!

Application & Formula

I am in love with the formula of Red-y & Willing by China Glaze! It was so pigmented that with just one coat, it looks like it provided full coverage! (I applied 2 coats out of habit, though.)

Also, the formula is so smooth. it’s not too thin or too thick, which makes it easier to control and guide along your nails. Painting with this was a breeze, and I feel like because I wasn’t fussing with the formula, I was able to paint my nails faster than usual.

Pros

  • Vampy, lit-from-within red shimmer
  • Smooth, amazing formula
  • Pretty much a one-coater

Cons

  • Not a mind-blowing colour (it’s a red, after all!), but it’s now one of my favourite reds!

Final Verdict: 9.5/10

If you’re into bold colours that shift depending on how the light hits your nails, you’ve gotta try China Glaze Red-y & Willing. This red is very vampy without looking black or even blackened, and it’s an edgy twist on the typical classic red that I think you’ll appreciate. (I’ll definitely be wearing this again!)

Do you have a favourite vampy red nail polish? Did you ever dress up as a vampire for Hallowe’en? Does the sight of blood make you squeamish?

    You did it once again…
I decided against this polish as I already have so many reds, but I still had a few doubts.
Your swatches appear on my screen and for some reason I have the site of my trusted dealer… eh… online polish selling webstore in a new window and order the entire collection!
I swear I wasn’t moving the mouse or anything 🙂
(alright, so I was… but who can resist this color and all the other beauties China Glaze has produced this fall?)

      Hey Joyce!

WOW – the entire collection? That’s amazing! You’re going to love it because I really feel like China Glaze did such an outstanding job on the Autumn Nights Collection – pigmented and lots of wonderful jewel-tone shades that are very flattering.

Hehe, yeah, I know how the mouse moves on its own. Strange, it happens to my mouse, too, when I look at nail polish online! 😉 Curious and curiouser, as Alice would say!

THAT is the most gorgeous red polish. Ever. I love it. It looks fabulous on you. I hope it looks that good one me. I could fall right into that color, it’s so deep and rich.

      Hey Cindi!

Thank you so much! I was taken aback by how stunning this red was. When I wore it, I caught myself glancing down often. It’s one of the more interesting and edgy reds out there.

      Hey Gelic’ Nail Art!

Thank you very much – so happy you think so! 😀

Hehe, on the blog, you may see my nails look long and then short. I tend to grow them for as long as I can before it starts to really interfere with my typing. Then I cut them to nubs. Actually, right now, my nails are nubby, but I have a few more polishes to show where my nails were longer. No sure what order I’ll publish the reviews, so if you see long, short, long, hehe, you’ll know why!

I usually don’t like reds so I did not order this at frist, but after seeing this polish on multiple of swatches I fell in love, and now I’m painting my nails with it! 😀
