OPI Pink-ing of You is from the Pink of Hearts 2013 Set that will be in stores this September and October.
(Not long ago, I blogged about the Pink of Hearts 2013 press release.)
The theme is Breast Cancer Awareness, so the set includes this and OPI More than a Glimmer (a glitter) plus nail decals that you can use to create a customized manicure.
In this post, I’ll share with you my thoughts and photos of OPI Pink-ing of You and a few photos of the set.
If you like cute and girly pink creme nail polishes, you may like this one!

OPI Pink-ing of You Review
Colour
Pink-ing of You by OPI is a cutesy pink that reminds me of cotton candy at the fair. It’s perfect for Breast Cancer Awareness because I definitely think of a light pink as opposed to a darker shade.
Finish
It has a creme finish, but it seems to almost has a ‘marshmallow’ look to it, which looks fluffy and somehow not flat like a typical creme can sometimes appear.
Application & Formula
Pink-ing of You by OPI had a nice, smooth formula that was easy to control. However, I found the finish to be streaky, so I had to use 3 coats to get the opacity you see in my photos.
Keep in mind that I tend to use medium coats, so if you use thin coats, it’s possible that you may need 4 coats.

Final Verdict: 6.5/10
I liked how adorable this shade of pink looks, and for sure you could do a lot of different nail art with this simple colour as a base.
If it was more pigmented and required fewer coats, I would rate it higher.
All that being said, it’s great because not only do you get a cute colour, but you’re helping to spread Breast Cancer awareness.
Will you be purchasing the OPI Pink of Hearts 2013 Set? Do you create a Breast Cancer Awareness manicure each year? If you could design any Breast Cancer Awareness manicure, what would it look like?
It’s cute, but indeed not very unique and too bad about the opacity.. I am looking forward to see ‘More than a Glimmer’ though, that one looks really pretty 🙂
Hey Renee!
Stay tuned, then, because my review on More than a Glimmer is coming up really, realllllllyyyy soon! 😉 You can almost smell the lacquer. That’s how soon!
Not a fan. So similar to other pinks out there and this two-pack with glitter has been done before (last year, in fact). Even though I may be past the trend myself, I completely expected this year’s PoH to be a liquid sand. I’m even more disappointed to hear how many coats it needed for opacity.
Hey Carolyn!
Oh, how cool if it was a Liquid Sand. I’d be all for that! I’m surprised they didn’t go that route, but the glitter they included is neat!
I will be purchasing the set, but mainly for that GLITTER! This is a cute colour but I’m pretty sure I already have a few like it in my stash.
Hey Jess!
Stay tuned for my review on the glitter! 😉
Wow. I like it *in theory*, but I don’t know that I could look at it on myself for too long. LOL Still, it’s for a good cause so if I see it I’ll definitely grab the set.

Hey Lizzy!
Haha, spoken like a true nailphile and a true do-gooder! 🙂 Hope you enjoy the set! You’ll have fun playing with the glitter, that’s for sure!
Good day. I purchased the set and wore the polishes to run the Dirty Girl Mud Run to raise breast cancer awareness. The manicure was fun and festive. I used three coats of the pink for full coverage. The manicure did not last long because of the mud obstacles but I plan to paint my nails with this duo again soon.
Hey Yolanda!
Wow, a mud run? That sounds intensive, but like a lot of fun! I’ve never heard of it before. Was it your first time?
too pink for me
Hey Icequeen81!
Would you like it if it was a darker pink? 😉
hehehe yes more a berry pink which I like very much too
I know what you mean. Berry shades that are strong and that really pop catch my attention more than pale pinks.
Before, I had a hard time pulling off these light pinks, so I shied away from them. But since then, I’ve found several that work with my skin tone. Still a major green fan and a nailphile who digs bold shades more. 🙂
