Ooh. La. And La. I’m not going to keep you waiting on what I really think about Urban Decay Ammo Shadow Box. It’s simply amazing.
UD created this palette to celebrate their 10-year anniversary, and there’s a reason why it’s still so popular: the colors are stunning, pigmented and blend well. What more could you really ask for?
Urban Decay Ammo Shadow Box Swatches & Pictures
Urban Decay Smog Swatches
Smog is a shimmery bronzy color. Good for contouring and definition on crease and outer eye, as well as on lid.
Urban Decay Maui Wowie Swatches
Maui Wowie is a sandy-beige shade with some glitter. Good for contouring and highlighting, as well as on lid.
Urban Decay Mildew Swatches
Mildew is a beautiful sage/olive green. Good for color on lid.
Urban Decay Shattered Swatches
Shattered is a shimmery light sky blue. Good for color on lid.
Urban Decay Oil Slick Swatches
Oil Slick is black with glitter of different colors. Good for contouring, definition and as liner. I’ve tried lining my eyes with this and then lining over it with Last Call. The result is a dark sparkly wine color.
Urban Decay Polyester Bride Swatches
Polyester Bride is a glittery white shade. (The dark specks in the pic are the glitter.) Good for highlighting underneath the brow and on the inner corner of the eyes. Can dab a bit of this in the middle of the lid, too.
Urban Decay Last Call Swatches
Last Call is a shimmery red-plum shade. Good for color on lid and contouring.
Urban Decay Grifter Swatches
Grifter is what I call a fairytale pink-purple with lots of sparkles. Good for color on lid and highlighting.
Urban Decay Chopper Swatches
Chopper is the land where bronze and pink gold meet, with a tinge of orange and lots of sparkles. Good for contouring and color on lid.
Urban Decay Sin Swatches
Sin peeks through with a barely there champagne hue. Good for highlighting.
These are just suggested uses.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Ammo Eye Palette Review
The Urban Decay Ammo eye palette is now my go-to makeup every morning. Even if I’m wearing another brand’s shadows as the main colors, I still end up using this for highlighting and contouring. It really is that versatile!
Before I talk about the shades, let’s get into the product itself. It’s pigmented, so you don’t need a lot to get intense color. I did experience slight creasing at the end of the day, but not a lot. So it’s best to use an eyelid primer before applying these shadows.
There are 5 shades in the Urban Decay Ammo palette with glitter/heavy shimmer, and you will experience some fallout. I don’t mind this because the fallout wasn’t too much and it added some fairytale fun to the look.
Don’t be intimated by it! If you’re not sure how to wear the colors, stick to the basics. Use the darker shades for definition, contouring and as liner. There are a few good highlighting shades, too. Once you get more comfy, have lots of fun mixing and matching the colors! See the first look here: Urban Decay Ammo Eye Look.
