So it looks like I’m on a roll! Here’s yet another review on a China Glaze Sunsational Collection nail polish!
Oh yeah – I had such high hopes for China Glaze Keepin’ It Teal (and maybe it’s because I’m pretty much a sucker for anything that’s aqua, teal, blue, or green).
Maybe it’s because this colour tends to flatter so many different skin tones. It’s bright, but not too crazy to make some people shy away from it.

China Glaze Keepin’ It Teal Review
Colour
Keepin’ It Teal by China Glaze is a bright teal that will really pop on your nails. Yes, it’s bright, but it’s not neon. It’s the kind of colour that puts the focus on your nails and is really flattering on a wide variety of skin tones from the fairest to the richest. (I just love polishes that the majority of people can enjoy.)
Finish
It has a jelly finish, and the sheerness of this polish definitely is no exception to the rule. You can see by my above photos that even after 3 coats, you can see the nail line. (In person, it was a little more prominent.)
I still wore the manicure with visible nail line. Although, next time I wear this, I’ll be sure to layer it over a creme or a white polish to help build up opacity quicker.
But, if you love layering, I can see how this one would be great for layering under and over a glittery polish (i.e. glitter-sandwich manicure) to add depth.
Application & Formula
Keepin’ It Teal by China Glaze went on streaky, and the formula was watery. As long as you’re prepared for this, you should be able to avoid flooding your cuticles.

Final Verdict: 7/10
If you’re okay with using more than 3 coats or layering over another polish to get opaque coverage, then you may like this polish. But, if streaky and sheer polishes turn you off, you’d better avoid this one.
Do you wear any sheer or streaky nail polishes? How do you use them? When a polish is a one-coater, do you ever actually wear just one coat? (Out of habit, I always apply a minimum of 2, unless I’m doing a layering combination.)
Lovely color but streaky and sheer? Nope, not for me…

I was sad about the sheerness, but I think I’ll need to try doing a glitter-sandwich manicure with it. 🙂 Gotta put it to good use!
MMMmmm I really want to like this, but I think I like Turned Up Turquoise much better. Just as bright, but definitely not sheer.

Sounds like we’re in the same boat. I don’t have Turned Up Turquoise, but I have Misa The Grass Is Greener on My Side, which is supposed to be similar.
Something similar for this but more crelly than straight jelly would be, IMO, OPI Fly.

Yes, that one is really great, especially with a tan! But, even on my fairly light skin, it pops. Peachy shades like that are some of my favourites for the summer.

I think that Keepin’ It Teal is more saturated than For Audrey, but I’d need to compare them side-by-side to be sure. I feel like Keepin’ It Teal has a touch more green.

I really liked this! Such a vibrant color.
I like jellies but it depend on how jelly/sheer they are. I think that the smiley and the other part of the nail (or how to say) should have a smooth difference, ie the VNL shouldn’t be in your face, more subtle, that’s how I like my jellies anyhow. I also like jelly sandwiches an stuff like that so there’s always something to do with them 🙂

I agree – there’s always a great use for jellies. I have yet to do a glitter-sandwich manicure, but I must try one soon. I’ve seen so many gorgeous swatches, and the depth the manicures have is incredible!
A base color of nude or beige should hide visible nail line if it ruins your look so much. You’re right the color is bright but not stark neon. I used to hate the jelly/squishy see through look but now I’m starting to like it. It reminds me of jellybeans and lollipops. Also great for putting some depth in my glitterbomb polishes.

That’s a really good idea! I would typically use white as the base, but using nude or beige would probably blend in more.
