According to the press release, the description said that China Glaze You Drive Me Coconuts from the Sunsational Collection was a ‘panic causing purple jelly’.
Well, my heart rate was beating steady, so rest assured that I was okay. 😉
I would describe this shade as more of a fuchsia pink with hints of purple instead of a straight-up purple jelly. And I do feel that China Glaze’s promo picture of this shade was more accurate than the text.
Putting aside that inaccuracy, this was one of my favourite colours from the Jellies half in the collection because it’s bold and because I don’t have as many shades like this compared to bright corals or bright bubblegum pinks.

China Glaze You Drive Me Coconuts Review
Colour
The only thing that might ‘drive you coconuts’ is the fact that it definitely has a pink base rather than a purple one. Nothing wrong with that, except the press release clearly calls it a purple jelly, which is misleading.
Ignoring that discrepancy, I must say that I loved You Drive Me Coconuts by China Glaze because it’s the type of colour that pops when you wear it! If an orchid were a showgirl, I imagine this would be how it’d look. (Yes, I have a highly active imagination!) 😉
Finish
This has a jelly finish, but I found the coverage was better than some of the others in this collection that were also marketed as being jellies.
This jelly didn’t seem to look as ‘squishy and wet’ as a typical jelly-finish nail polish. But, of course when you add a top coat, that helps.
Application & Formula
With 2 coats, I was still able to see visible nail line, so I added a 3rd. That seemed to do the trick, and after this final coat, it looked almost like a creme in terms of the coverage it provided. (If you aren’t big on jellies in general, this one is probably one that you will like!)
With this 3rd coat, I wasn’t able to notice much visible nail line in person, so it definitely isn’t like your typical jelly polish that is translucent.

Final Verdict: 8/10
Although You Drive Me Coconuts by China Glaze didn’t read as a traditional jelly on me because the coverage was more pigmented and the finish wasn’t super shiny, I still loved it!
I might not be big on pink nail polish, but when it’s a brazen kind like this, I enjoy it a lot because it pops!
Do you wear more bright or soft pinks? Of the Sunsational jellies I’ve shown so far, which is your favourite? What drives you coconuts?
*gasp* Love it! Not crazy about it being a jelly (I abhor the sheerness of them) but it’s such a pretty color!

Hey Lizzy!
Jellies that are sheer are good for layering and creating glitter-sandwich manicures. I need to try that. There’s actually another shade in this collection that’s ridiculously sheer. I’ll need to figure out another way to use it other than solo.
This is a gorgeous one!

Hey Olivia!
I really enjoyed wearing it! Love wearing brights when the sun’s beating down. 🙂
I like this! i do see what you mean about the cons of it not being a typical jelly, but I like that this still have a jelly-like quality to it 🙂

Hey Raina!
I guess they had to sacrifice the super shininess of the polish in order to bump up the opacity. Nevertheless, it was fun to wear!
