After you put on your foundation and concealer, it’s a good idea to set it with a powder to make it last longer. But is Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Mineral Veil what you should use for that purpose?

Well, I do like that it feels silky soft and doesn’t clog my skin. There are actually a few other things that I do like about it. See my final verdict to find out what I really think of it.

Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Original Mineral Veil Review

Now bare Minerals Mineral Veil does do all that it claims. Yes, I do think my pores look slightly less visible and my complexion looks softer. I do feel like I get more of that sought-after “airbrushed” look.

And without the Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil, my skin feels slightly stickier and oilier at the end of the day than if I’m wearing it. It really does get checkmarks all across the board.

But (you sensed that was coming, right?) I don’t think it does enough. There is no one task that it’s outstanding at; it scores a B on every subject. That’s not a bad thing, I suppose. I just want an A++ in everything, and not it does “slightly” well.

It’s an above-average product, but not one that makes me giddy like a kid in a candy store (or like myself in a makeup store). I mean, I like using it to even out my complexion after putting on my foundation and concealer. And Mineral Veil does extend the wear of my makeup…if only for a little bit.

In the end, I will say that I like it. But I am not faithful to it.

    Pros
  • Feels soft & really lightweight
  • Evens out complexion
  • Makes skin feel less oily
  • Goes on sheer for all skin tones
  • Formula consists of only a few ingredients
    Cons
  • Doesn’t excel at any of the tasks
  • Can get a bit messy

Final Verdict: 7/10

While Bare Escentuals Mineral does make my skin look and feel better, I don’t notice that much of a difference. Let me put it this way: if I’m in a rush, this is a makeup product that I’d skip and not mind at all.

Tip: The lid is your friend. Make sure to tap your brush on the lid to get off any excess so you don’t put on too much. If you tap on the container, you risk powder jumping out and flying everywhere.
