Too Faced Shadow Insurance Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer Review
This Too Faced eye shadow primer revives my eye color collection, which includes not-so-good makeup products that never stay used to put!
I’ve tried the Too Faced primer on all types of shadows – cream, powder, loose, glittery, matte, etc. etc. And the end result is eye makeup that looks the same at the end of the day as it does at the beginning. Just as the product claims: no fading, no creasing, no melting.
It even works wonders on eyeliners. The Prestige Marble Eyeliner that melts so terribly on its own actually stays put…without budging even a little! No green raccoon eyes anymore (thank goodness). I’ve even tried the Too Faced Shadow Insurance primer by itself without setting it using a shadow. No creasing, either!
Adding the Too Faced eye primer into your makeup routine is definitely not a wasted step. Not only will you enjoy the benefits later on in the day, but you’ll also find that it’s easier to apply shadows. It provides an even canvas. Plus, it’s like the eye shadows are attracted to the primer – the color goes on easier, and you use less product.
The formula feels like a light concealer – not thick or thin. And it goes on sheer, so different skin tones can use it. And a tiny bead of this covers the entire lid, but I like to use a little more for the crease and underneath the eyebrow (for definition and highlighting).
The only setback of the Too Faced Shadow Insurance primer is that you have to let it dry before eye-shadowing (yes, it‘s a verb in my vocabulary). But that’s true for any primer. Otherwise, you’ll find it hard to blend your shadows.

Final Verdict: 9.5/10
I chose the Too Faced anti-crease eye shadow primer over the Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer Potion Eden for many reasons. 1.) I like the tube packaging more than the UD bottle shape. 2.) I like Too Face’s overall color design more. 3.) Mary is already using the UD one, and I want to review a different brand for variety. Those three reasons = one amazing decision!
The Too Faced shadow primer is a cinch to work with. You need it in your arsenal, even if you only wear eyeliner or one shadow per look. It saves me from getting frustrated at my makeup being ruined…and it certainly saves me from having to rub out any crease lines that form during the day. A must!
