The second I found out that the OPI Mariah Carey Liquid Sand 4-Bottle Mini Set existed, I knew that it would make the perfect giveaway prize!
So I had to buy it to treat one lucky reader! It’s a small token from me to say thank you for your support.
Not only will you get adorable mini bottles, which are highly collectible, but this set includes all of the Liquid Sand colours released so far!
This will be a great way for you to see which one you like the best before you commit to a full-size bottle.
Since reviewing 2 of the Liquid Sands, OPI Get Your Number (my favourite) and OPI Stay the Night, I’ve noticed that a lot of you are intrigued with the unique Liquid Sand finish…and for good reason! I think it’s one of the most original concepts that we’ve seen in the nail industry in quite some time!

Thanks for the chance to win. I have a question, what is good for removing cuticles? I have a bad picking problem when I’m stressed. I need something to avoid that problem all together. I have some Salon Effects on my nails now (that need to come off lol) not sure what I will try next, diy design maybe? 🙂

Oh, that’s a good question! You know what? I’ve never used anything to remove cuticles, so I can’t recommend anything. All I do is use a cheap cuticle pusher to gently push them back before I start painting.
Have you tried using cuticle oil? No, it won’t remove cuticles, but I think that if your cuticles are really healthy and smooth, it might make you less likely to pick at them. (I know that in the winter, I tend to pick my cuticles a lot just because they’re dry.)

The Liquid Sands actually are quite easy to remove! I was very surprised because they have so much texture. I suspect it’s because the base is a ‘jelly matte’. I didn’t even have to scrub a lot when I used an acetone-based remover. It wasn’t even 100% acetone!

Right now I have OPI Dim Sum Plum with Orly Halo sponged near my cuticle on my thumb, index and pinky. Then on my middle I have a full nail of Orly Halo and my ring is Hard Candy Fabuluxe. It’s so bright and blingy! I LOVE IT!

Right now, I have on Shellac Decadence, which is a really bright magenta. I’ve had it on since just before Christmas, so it’s just about time for it to come off.
The last movie I saw was Django Unchained, which I loved! Tarantino at his best. Not for everyone, because the violence is waaaayyyyy over the top, but I have always been a fan of his witty dialogue.

Wow, this is the most comments I’ve seen so far! lol Funny story, Swagbucks has a “search & earn” function that I use to make money by searching for swatches of nail polish. I’d put in a brand and color and just switch out the color name to keep searching. Your blog came up SO many times with such great swatches I finally decided I had to follow. What a nice giveaway. =) The last movies I saw were the Dark Knight trilogy, which I hadn’t seen before. I have to say I was disappointed, they were trying so hard to be dark and gritty that I found them rather one-note and…kind of boring. I’m extremely biased, but I think they would have been much improved by the addition of Dick Grayson. As is, I much prefer the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

I’m currently wearing Nails INC sprinkles collection, the white one. I forget the name because they all have similar names. (OPI names are so cheesy, but I can always remember which is which.) Have you tried Nails INC yet? They are a bit pricey, but they have some really unique colors and finishes like the new leather ones.
As for movies, the last one I saw was Django Unchained, and I thought it was excellent. I am a huge Tarantino fan.

I just put on scandlous and am in love with it! The colors pop against my skin and are so beautiful. I was also at big lots the other day and they had packages of 2 revlons for $2 so I had to get some, but while I was there they had these little Burt’s bees lip balms and they are now my new obsession!

This is a great giveaway! Thank You! It’s also a great opportunity for me to tell you about the movie Les Miserables.
It’s petty good.
Here are my problems with it. They recorded it live while they were filming. Which kind of works. You get those gritty, raw, in the moment emotions. But they should have recorded the soundtrack. Without the acting the vocals fall short. Also some of the casting. Most of these people were probably chosen because yes they can sing and they can act AND they are names in Hollywood. Actually Russell Crow can not sing. Second apart from Russell I did think all the other males were really good singer but most of them were lacking the rich tenor voices that make the vocals so epic. The one exception being Eddie Redmayne who played Marius. Great voice, hilarious vibrato face.
All in all if you haven’t see it you should. It’s visually stunning and overall really well done. And I would be lying if I said I didn’t want to cry like a baby by the end.

I LOVE the colors in this set!! I am CRAZY for matte finishes! I just bought the new NYC Matte Me Crazy top coat!! I am in love with the matte glitter look, so I LOVE that set!! Right now, I have Swimsuit…Nailed it! by OPI on my nails with the NYC matte top coat! I have fallen in love with OPI. I have Russian Navy, Planks A Lot, and Swimsuit…Nailed it! I LOVE all three! I found you through Lace and Lacquers! I currently have (zoya) Snow White on my nails with a top coat of Femme Fatale Too Teal To Handle!
I have a manicure that I need to take off…but it’s currently Julep Michelle and Julep Stella as an accent nail. Stamped a full nail design from a Bundle Monster plate over all nails in Julep Michelle and Kleancolor Metallic Yellow. I LOVE kleancolor’s metallics, they are excellent stamping polishes, but just so pretty in general!
I’m in the process of applying A England Avalon, and will be using Nubar Violet Sparkle on my ring fingers. I love your comparisons to existing shades in your new polish posts, and you’ve got some great vintage China Glaze shades that I’ve only read about.

I just took off Stay The Night a few hours ago! Easiest black to take off EVAR! I had to go with 10 different neons with Sephora X’s Chaotic on top.

I found out about swatch and learn while hunting down the Mariah Carey swatches. I really like how much detail you write for all your swatches. Currently, I am wearing OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender with Urban Outfitters Afterhours as accent. Speaking of movies…I should really catch up on some of the oscar nominations. I found this website on the search for the liquid sand collection, I absolutely love this website down to its clever name. I am a hair dresser / nail tech and I will definitely be telling all of my co-workers and clients to check it out… I have already posted this link to my Facebook page. As far as the liquid sand collection, My friend picked up stay the night the other day and I love the look and feel of this polish. It is definitely one of my favorite Opi colors by far.
Love the OPI always have, been using these products for quite some time, lets just say, 20 plus years, would love to get to use these colors!
