Smorgasbord Sundays: Garage Clothing & Black Friday Deals

Rainbow Tiger Shirt Garage ClothingDid you do any Black Friday shopping? What were the best deals you scored?

The only Black Friday shopping I did was online and for Garage Clothing! (I really didn’t feel like hitting up the mall after a full work day.)

Garage is one of my favourite clothing companies not only because they’re Canadian (they started in Montreal), but also because they offer a lot of casual attire that fits my body.

You can always find fun prints and designs at extremely affordable price points. But they do carry staples like basic solid t-shirts and tank tops, too.

I really hope that one day Garage Clothing will start carrying dress clothes, too, like blazers and trousers. Then it will be my all-around go-to clothing store!

For a few days, they had a special online offer for 40% off sitewide and just $1 shipping! It’d be criminal if I didn’t get something, right? (Right!)ย ๐Ÿ˜‰

In this post, I’ll show you a few of the things I snatched up. And if you like anything, just so you know, they’re having a new sale for 30% off sitewide and $1 shipping. It’s valid untilย Monday November 26 at 6 am (Eastern)!

(No, I’m not affiliated with Garageย yet, but I’ve been purchasing clothing and accessories from them for probably 7 years or more, so I should be!) ๐Ÿ˜‰

Edit:ย For my American readers, please note that the same offer is running on the US site, which you can find here.

The first thing that caught my eye was this tiger t-shirt. What made it special to me was the late-80s-early-90s feel to it. Since I don’t usually see this colour combination of the triangles coupled with the geometric design and tiger face on a t-shirt, it was a must-have for me.

From that, we go to another big cat and another Garage Clothing must-have, in my opinion!

This cheetah sweater has my name all over it. I like how you can wear this sweater without any accessories, and it still makes a statement. Plus long-sleeve sweaters are very easy to wear. No-brainer. Running late in the morning (which is often the case for me)? Throw this on. Done! You’re ready to conquer the day. (Well, don’t forget to wear some bottoms before you leave the house…haha!)

RAWR!

I have a bunch of fashion scarves (i.e. scarves that are meant to be worn for style and not so much to keep you warm), but they haven’t been getting much use lately. I’ll need to change that.

From the minute I laid eyes on the skull scarves at Garage Clothing, I was reminded how much I used to love wearing fashion scarves. It inspired me to bust out the ones I already have again. They’re really wonderful for wearing with basic t-shirts and sweaters that could use some pizzazz.

Here’s the first skull scarf I got. It has a black background with white skulls all over.

What I loved about it is that the material is lightweight and soft. You can see in the first photo how delicate it looks. That’s really cool in contrast to the skull print. Things like this excite me. ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s a rectangular scarf, but the dimensions are very smart because you can easily fold it and transform it into a square. From there, you can fold it in half, so it becomes a triangle and then wrap or tie it around your neck. Or, you could just wear it like a rectangular scarf. Smart design and stylish pattern.

A closer look at my hard-headed friends:

They also had the same scarf in the reverse colours – white background and black skulls. Although I loved the one above much more, I still got this white one (in case I would regret it later). Hehe, and when I received it, I was glad I got it since it’ll be great to wear with lighter tops to give them some edge.

Did I ever tell you that your eye sockets are to die for? Well, they are!

My next scarf is very basic, but with a subtle twist. It’s an infinity scarf with a light-grey background, and there are small white stars all over. I figured this would be nice to bring a feminine touch to some of my shirts that are plain.

Seeing stars…

The final scarf is rectangular, and it’s by far my favourite one! It has soooo many colours, and the design is very artsy and bold.

You can wear it with nearly any shirt because it’ll pick up the colour in your shirt and run with it. You could be just wearing a plain v-neck tee, but if you wrap this around, it ‘wakes up’ your whole outfit and seems to put colour into your cheeks and a bounce in your step! ๐Ÿ™‚ I already know that I’ll be getting a lot of use out of this one – it’s like wrapping a painting around your neck! (If there was a painting like this, I would totally hang it on my wall.)

The ends have fringes. You can see a bit sticking out from underneath in the photo…

(When I sat down to write this blog post, the scarf already sold out and can’t be found on the website! Wow! That was fast!)

When the scarf isn’t bunched up, you can better see the splotches of colour. It really is such a fun print!

I also bought 3 jeggings (bright blue, dark green, and a military-khaki-like green), but I didn’t take photos. They’re your standard jeggings – very comfy and sized just right with a little stretch that makes them feel like pajamas!

I only plan to wear those jeggings when the weather gets much colder. I’ll wear them with knee-high boots! ๐Ÿ™‚ Looking forward to it!

So…there you have it. That’s what I blew my hard-earned money on during Black Friday. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Did you buy anything during Black Friday? What were some of the best deals you saw?

    i feel like buying everything.
we have a lot of malls in the city, so one of the best (it has a lot of expensive brands) had a black friday deal.
people went crazyy just to find they were offering only 20% in selected items. totally not worth it. people were complaining so much on twitter, like they drove all the way to the mall, spent 2 hrs finding a parking spot , didn’t buy anything and spent 1 hr trying to leave the mall.. people were angry .

i loved this garage brand, i think i’m buying something.. i’m just doing a shopping cart haha idk yet if they ship to the US…

I e-mailed you about this just now in case you don’t see this reply until it’s too late. ๐Ÿ™‚

But for anyone who’s reading this and from the US, you CAN partake in the Garage Clothing Black Friday Deal. Instead of going to http://www.garage.ca (Canadian site), use the US site, http://www.shopgarageonline.com. They have the same deals and will ship to you. Hope that helps! ๐Ÿ™‚

      Hey maria emma!

What? Just 20% off? That’s pretty sad. Normally Black Friday deals are supposed to be the very best discounts of the entire year. But maybe those companies already had low prices? Because then I can understand why they can’t reduce their bottom line too much like other retailers who highly inflate their regular prices.

      Hey Brianna!

They’ll probably have more in-store, but the current deal of 30% off only applies to online purchases. I’m not sure if there’ll be any discount on it in the store. However, even at the full price, it’s not really expensive. I think the regular price was around $12 CAD or so.

I used to buy a lot of items from Garage when I was in University but somehow stopped (I think it may have been the extra weight and pregnancies). But I LOOOOVE that tiger sweater! LOVE IT! (may have to see if I can squeeze into one myself ๐Ÿ˜‰ ).
I didn’t know they originated in Montreal – I love learning new things from you.
Great Picks! (I could see a saran wrap manicure based on the last scarf you showed! ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

      Hey Marta!

I bet the cheetah sweater would look amazing on you. I can already see you rocking a fab manicure and great accessories to complement it. ๐Ÿ™‚

(Good idea for the saran wrap manicure! You know, I’ve never tried that technique yet. One day! It’s the type of technique that sounds like it’d be fun to do, regardless if the design doesn’t turn out.)
