Have you seen any good movies lately? They don’t have to be in the theatre. Maybe you saw it on DVD or TV.
It’s been a while since I was really excited to go see a movie. The last one I saw in the theatre was The Dark Knight Rises…and I fell asleep several times to the point where I couldn’t tell you even the basic plot!
Haha, no, it wasn’t boring at all, but my friends and I went to see the latest show after going out for dinner and drinks. Plus I had a tiring day at work, and the previous night, I went to bed wayyyy past the witching hour. (I should have bags under my eyes that go down to my knees…Pretty sight.)
I only remember pieces of it here and there. (For part of it, I literally held my eyes open with my fingers because I was so upset that I was missing an epic movie. My antics were like something out of a Mr. Bean episode! However, I failed and nodded off several times. Nature won.)
Okay, so aside from wanting to stay awake through the entire The Dark Knight Rises, I really want to see Wreck-It Ralph, a Disney animation feature film!
Click on the still-shot below to watch the Wreck-It Ralph movie trailer:
I don’t know anyone who has seen it yet (it just came out on Friday), but from the trailer, it looks like it’s going to be one of those feel-good movies along the lines of Toy Story or Wall-E. It looks like there’s going to be a generous sprinkling of humour throughout with positive, self-affirming messages, which makes it good for people of all ages.
From what I gather in the Wreck-It Ralph movie trailer, it’s about Ralph (a ‘bad guy’ in a video game) who is sick and tired of being the bad guy. He wants to be the good guy for once, so he sneaks into different video games and eventually learns what it means to be a hero.
Will he go back to his original game and realize that he’s still the same good guy, even though he plays a ‘bad guy’? Or, will he reinvent a new game?
His journey of self discovery is something that really interests me.
All I know is that it looks like it’s going to be a movie that you’ll want to watch over and over, by yourself, with friends, with children, with the elderly, with your cat, Muffin…just anyone. And I hope that I’m right about my presumptions.
I plan to see it soon. Even if none of my friends want to see it, heck, I want to see it badly enough that I’ll go to the theatre by myself and see it if they don’t want to go! 🙂
Have you ever watched a movie solo in the theatre? Are you going to see Wreck-It Ralph? What movies have you seen or want to see?
Love the Wreck-It Ralph movie trailer, I want to see it for sure! I hope it will come to Italy soon! The last movie I saw was just a few days ago, and it was a huge disapointment I must admit. I saw the new 007 movie, Skyfall… My boyfriend is a lover of all the Bond movies and he is starting to “educate” me in the Bond culture, I love the old movies, but this… It was just not 007, it could have been any kind of superhero, or a bad copy of the Dark Knight…
On the other hand, I loved a movie that I saw few weeks ago, Brave by Disney Pixar, even though I loved Tangled, last year movie, much much much more… I keep whatching it again and again!
thank you for your beautiful blog, I always follow you even if I don’t really comment…
Caterina
Hey Caterina!
Really? 🙁 I heard from some people that Skyfall was the best Bond movie, and a lot of critics were raving about it. Hmm…I still want to see it (but after Wreck-It Ralph). Hopefully it won’t be too bad.
Tangled and Brave were movies I wanted to see. Totally forgot about them until now!
Thank you for following Swatch And Learn and for taking the time to comment this time! 😀 Hope you’ll decide to comment again. I really do love hearing from my readers.
The last movie I watched in theatres was Hotel Transylvania and I went on opening night so it was busy. I really want to see Wreck-It Ralph too.
Hey maddy!
Yeah, opening night is always the craziest. I’ve only done that a few times. One of them was Transformers (the first one)…haha, and I don’t think it was worth it. That movie was really terrible. It was such a shame because I loved the cartoon as a kid.
We Want To want watch Argo, seems good,
Hey Icequeen81!
If you see it, please let me know what you think of it. 🙂
There were a bunch of movies I was eagerly awaiting this past summer (*Avengers*, Spiderman, Brave), but those were the last time I’ve been to the theater. I don’t think I’ll be going to see Ralph (it looks cute but I’ll probably wait till it’s out on DVD), but I’m contemplating the Dreamworks flick Rise of the Guardians. Maybe for my sister’s birthday in early December.
Hey Heather!
How did you like Brave? I really wanted to see that, but somehow ended up watching The Avengers and Spider-Man instead.
I just saw it last night. Sooooooo freaking cute! Bring some candy…it makes you want to have candy 😉 It’s a great feel-good movie with great graphics, cute characters, and funny moments. I highly recommend it.
After watching that, we snuck into Argo. That is also a great movie, but there was so much suspense….I really wished we had seen them in reverse order!
Hey Heather!
YAY! I’m glad that you thought it was good. Now I’m even more pumped to see it. I’ll probably see it on Saturday evening! And I’ll take your advice to bring candy. 😉 Might also get some popcorn and an iced tea. We’ll see. But buttery popcorn makes every movie better!
Hahaha, I like how you snuck in to see Argo right after Wreck-It Ralph. Did you actually stay to watch the entire movie? Wow, two movies back to back!
Of course I go to movies solo. In fact I only go during the slow hours as most people bother me. Don’t ever want to share an armrest unless its an airline flight and I have to. I last saw the Bourne Identity. I liked it overall but it was disjointed, with the first half all talky talky and the second half all chasey chasey! I usually only go out to the movies in order to better appreciate the photography and scenery. If it is set in Europe, I probably will go to the theater.
Hey Roxann!
Good for you for going to see movies solo. 🙂 A lot of people don’t do that. And I think it’s perfectly fine to do that. That being said, I enjoy seeing movies with others more, though. I think it’s just the fact that I like to share the experience with others. 🙂
Last movie I saw in the theater was Zombieland. lol Wreck-It Ralph looks cute. We’ll probably rent it whenever it comes out on DVD.

Hey Lizzy!
If the movie is as good as I think it’ll be, I may end up buying the DVD. *Fingers crossed*
Just saw Skyfall last night, and it rocked! In action movies there are always a bunch of details that are really wrong, which always bother me, but I still love them, haha.
I think they managed to fuse old and new really well, and opposed to the old ones they actually managed to make a story and semi-diverse persons. (The old ones were just Bond who’s a badass spy/womanizer, Bimbos who are basically just tools and bad guys who are there to be killed. Done.)
Plus, I was actually entertained throughout the entire movie, which certainly doesn’t always happen!

Hey Charlotte!
I heard that Skyfall was the best Bond film. Do you agree or disagree with that statement? (Still haven’t seen it. Haha, I was actually more excited about the OPI Skyfall Collection than the movie. :P)
I want to see Wreck-It Ralph as well–it looks really cute and original :). Also interested in seeing Skyfall, which will be the first Bond movie I’ve ever seen! Mostly I just want an excuse to wear my picks from the OPI Skyfall collection ;).
Hey Jessica!
Yes, definitely an original plot, and I think it’ll be fun to see the characters you recognize from some games talk and have a personality. 🙂
Hehe, do you need an excuse to wear the gorgeous OPI Skyfall Collection? Hahaha!
i love going to the movies, but for some reason.. i never get to go.. even though i have this card that allows me to go for free, even in the VIP rooms.
well.i guess i’m waiting for twilight, even though I’m over this saga, i guess i need to watch the last movie to let it go.. the only memory i will have of this trauma will be the books and my dog, Bella.

Hey maria emma!
VIP rooms are so amazing, aren’t they? I’ve only been a couple of times, and I felt so fancy! The chairs are comfortable, and there’s even a personal table beside you so you can put your purse down. 🙂
Haha I know what you mean about falling asleep at movies! The last time it happened to me was during Pan’s Labyrinth – a truly beautiful movie – but we were at the 11pm show and I was so tired! I got really upset when I woke up and realized I’d missed a good chunk of the movie!
I can’t wait to see Wreck It Ralph… I also want to see Skyfall as I heard great reviews.
Hey MC!
Okay, now I feel a little better about falling asleep. 😛
Yes, Pan’s Labyrinth is an incredible movie. I need to watch that again. I remember the sets were incredible – truly a work of art!
Oh, I saw the trailer of Wreck-it-Ralph when I saw Ice Age 4 with my 7 years old son; I found Ice Age 4 so boring, sigh, but I hope going to see Wreck-it-Ralph soon because I’m in love with Disney-Pixar animation movies! (Here in Italy it didn’t come yet)

Hey Paola!
Wow, I must not have been paying attention because I didn’t even know that there were four Ice Age movies! (I haven’t even seen any of them, either!)
