Nicole by OPI Deck the Dolls hails from the Kardashian Kolor Holiday Collection, and it’s one of those lit-from-within teal nail polishes.
I think that everyone who’s into lacquer ought to own a shade like this because it’s so universally flattering, and it has an intensity that’s dramatic without being gaudy.
It’s bold without being bright or vampy. It walks the tightrope like a pro and delivers saturated colour without breaking a sweat.
Allow me to share more of my thoughts on this lacquer with you and show you more photos!

Nicole by OPI Deck the Dolls Review
Colour
Teals like Nicole by OPI Deck the Dolls are always a pleasure to wear because I can count of them to create a fierce manicure.
It’s dark enough to look dramatic, but it’s not so dark that it looks black even in low lighting. This is a great Anytime Colour. If you’re looking for a shade with some ‘bite’, this one will give you something to chew on. (Err…don’t bite your nails!)
Finish
Nicole by OPI Deck the Dolls has a shimmery finish, so it never looks flat. No matter what the lighting condition, your nails will have that wonderful, glowy, lit-from-within personality that gives your manicure an air of mystery. And because it’s not your traditional red or pink, it’s a little edgy.
Application & Formula
When I first saw the bottle, I thought it would be very opaque. So you can imagine my surprise when it went on sheer and very thin!
The formula is on the watery side, so I suggest not using medium coats. You should try to paint it on with a thin coat, but then do multiple coats to increase opacity. (I needed to use 3 coats for full coverage.)
Also, because the formula is thin, if you wish to use a fast-drying top coat, I suggest waiting a while before slicking on your top coat. (I find that thin polishes are more prone to premature polish shrinkage – i.e. tip wear.)

Final Verdict: 7.5/10
Although I don’t feel like this is a unique shade, it is very sexy and fun to wear. While it was on my nails, I found myself admiring my nails often. It’s really cool how the middle of the nails looks lighter, and then the edges are darker – adds that visual interest.
What’s your favourite blue nail polish to wear? Do you think the Kardashians should put out their own line of ‘Dash’ nail polishes?
Gorgeous photos! Though I love that shade, it’s not too unique, but your swatch is making me reconsider 🙂

Hey A Lacquered Affair!
Thanks for the high compliment! 🙂 Hehe, I know how you feel. When I visit other blogs, I end up putting a bunch of new shades on my To Buy List. 😉
I know right! Restraining is a challenge…

Hehe, plus there are sooooo many talented bloggers out there who are able to make any polish look incredible! It’s dangerous sometimes to ‘blog-surf’ (which I tend to do in spurts). Then I look down at my To-Buy List when it gets long and have to force myself to close the internet browser to stop the temptation from escalating…at least until another day. 😉
Beautiful! I really enjoyed wearing this shade as well! 🙂

Hey Stephanie!
You have great taste! 😉
Despite the less than stellar formula, it’s really pretty!! These colors really suit you.

Hey Marisa!
Thanks! 🙂 I find these kind of shades really easy to wear because they never clash with my skin tone.
i love blue on my nails ! ur right this shade is not that unique but still interesting… 🙂
one of my favourite blue’s is OPI “Teal the cows come home” it looks a lot like deck the dolls but its a LOT more brighter.

Hey Randi!
Oh yes, I’ve seen that shade! 🙂 It’s really pretty!
This is one of the polishes I was most looking forward to seeing pictures of when I read your post with the press release! I love teals, and this is an interesting color to release in a holiday collection. Shame about the formula, but I think that awesome teal color is worth it.
Hey Jessica!
YAY – I’m glad that I reviewed this one first then! 🙂 (It actually wasn’t the first one I wore. I wore A Gold Winter’s Night first, which I’ll review hopefully soon.)
I have a few colours like this in my collection. I never wear them and I should- very pretty colour.

Hey Stella!
Yes, don’t neglect them any longer. They’re dying for you to take them on a night out on the town. 😉
Beautiful! I don’t have a teal like this and it’s definitely going on my ‘Christmas Wish List’ this year. Thank you for the review and beautiful swatches!

Hey Angela!
It’s my pleasure! 🙂 Even though it’s a lot of work to photograph everything and put together the post, it’s well worth it when I get encouraging and kind words from lovely readers like you. So…thank YOU!
I really like this color. But since it’s a thin formula I think I’ll try not to buy it, because I rarely have the patience to put on more than two layers (sometimes not even that) 😉

Hey Charlotte!
Haha, really? I’m such a strange nailphile because I just cannot (CANNOT!) just wear one coat of nail polish, even if a polish IS opaque in a single coat. I always have to have a minimum of two. It’s really weird because I’m the same way about telephone calls. Even if I’m right beside the phone, I wait for the second ring before I answer it. No idea why I do that, but answering it on the first just feels wrong. (I’m SO logical…haha!)
Haha, I think it’s just because I’m the most impatient person in the world. And nailpolish chips rather fast for me, and it just hurts all the more if I spent a really, really long time and loads of beautiful colour. I think. If that makes any sense :p
That’s interesting (seriously – I’m a little weird with what I find to be interesting… I’m just guessing at psycological reasons for that, I think). But that’s all good. We all need our weirdnesses. I firmly believe that people without weird things like that are more boring 😉

YES – we all need our weirdness. I like how you put it. So true! Who wants to be normal, anyway? Normal is the new boring…haha!
