Loose Button seriously just squeaked in because I received the Loose Button June 2012 Luxe Box on June 28!
You may already know, but the company has decided to drastically change their subscription service. You’ll no longer be getting monthly boxes. Instead, you’ll get fewer boxes, but with more products.
Even though the June box is a good one, I already unsubscribed prior to hearing about the upcoming service changes. (For the record, I also unsubscribed from Topbox.)
Unfortunately, the novelty of receiving a box of surprise samples wore off. It was fun while it lasted, but now I prefer to just save my money and put it toward something I really want to try instead.

Loose Button June 2012 Luxe Box Review
Packaging
As usual, the Loose Button Luxe Box has sleek, modern, and sophisticated packaging. The black box is very eye-catching, and I like how there’s a sleeve that slides out. It really looks fancy, and you can tell that the Loose Button team put a lot of thought into the design of the box.
There is, however, a lot of packaging. The black box is shipped in a cardboard box. I get that it’s to protect the contents, but it’s just not environmentally-friendly, even if it’s recyclable. Reducing is always better than recycling.
Products
Olay Pro-X Eye Restoration Complex
I’ve received a sample size of this before and gave it to my mom. Most likely I’ll give her this one, too.
While I’m curious about trying an eye cream (because I’ve never used any before), I’m also very lazy when it comes to eye treatments (i.e. I don’t want to start adding it to my skincare routine…haha).
I do appreciate that Loose Button gave a full-size item of an expensive product. For people who like using eye treatments, they should be ecstatic to receive this! It’s just not for me.
L’Oreal Mythic Oil
Now this is something that I’m excited to try. In the summertime especially, when there’s humidity, my hair gets frizzy. This oil claims to help with that, so the next few times when it gets really humid, I’m going to put it to the test!
OPI Top Coat
Yay for a full-size OPI polish! 🙂 Very, verrryyy nice!
Now, you know I’m devoted to my Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat, but when I wear glitter polishes, I sometimes like to use a non-fast-drying top coat and then put on Seche to get a smoother finish. This product will definitely get a lot of use. Thanks, Loose Button!
Philosophy Purity Made Simple Foaming 3-in-1 Cleansing Gel
Another fantastic product that will get a lot of use! 🙂
Actually, I’ve been wanting to try out this foaming cleanser for quite some time. I religiously use the Philosophy Purity Made Simple facial cleanser, but I dig foaming ones so maybe I’ll switch to this if it works well.
Olay Mirror
This was a thoughtful bonus. While a mirror isn’t anything special, at least everyone can use it. 🙂 Plus it feels like it’s very sturdy with strong material. My only complaint is that it’s thin and hard to open. I need to use my nail to lift the lid. Maybe it’s just mine?

Final Verdict: 9/10
Overall, I thought that this month’s Loose Button Luxe Box was a winner. Great value – two full-sized products and a bonus item! 🙂
Are you a subscriber, and how long do you plan to continue your subscription? Which product would you be most excited to receive from a beauty box?

Hi Mary,
I don’t subscriber,to this, don’t have the money. The one thing that really intrests me is Philosophy Purity Made Simple Foaming 3-in-1 Cleansing Gel. Right now I use Bare Minerals deep clean foam. It works really nice, but I won’t mind trying Purity. Please let me know how well you like it when you try it. Have a great weekend. :~)
Hey Melissa!
Sure – I’ll definitely do a review on that product. 🙂 I’m very curious to see if it’s as good as the regular Philosophy Purity Made Simple cleanser I’ve been using.
Happy Saturday!
Just love the branding, products look great seriously tempted to sign up!

Hey handbagsatdawnblog!
They did a wonderful job this month on the products! 🙂 If you do sign up, please let me know how you like it.
Wow, I guess they disappoint with this last box. I was thinking it would be somewhat half-assed. I totally agree with you, the novelty of these subscription service have worn off. I unsubscribed to a lot of the services back in May and I’m just waiting for all my referral credits to be used up.

Hey Samantha!
I do think, though, that they’re taking a step in the right direction about offering fewer boxes, but with more products in each box. It’ll give the company more time to plan promotions and partnerships as well as figure out what items to include in each box. They’ll need to think of a way to increase customer retention, though. I have a feeling that you and I aren’t the only ones who subscribed because it sounded like a neat concept, but then we got tired of the novelty. Somehow they have to come up with something new to keep things fresh and rewarding for customers.
