When I saw the China Glaze On Safari Collection, there were 2 shades in particular that answered the call of the wild for me. 😉
China Glaze Jungle Queen was one.
Sure, there are tons of grayish purples on the market, so it’s not the most original, but I still love it and haven’t gotten sick of it.
Standard grays aren’t my favourite to wear, but when there’s a touch of purple like in this I’m a happy camper.

China Glaze Jungle Queen Review
Colour
Grayish purples like Colour Alike Weekendowy Szal and Sephora by OPI Metro Chic are the kind of neutrals that speak to me. They look gray in certain lighting and then purple in other lighting.
This hue is one of the more sophisticated or mature colours you’ll see me wear. Haha, normally I’m wearing something that’s loud, crazy, or very colourful! This is the only kind of gray that I really feel comfortable wearing.
Finish
This polish looks like a creme when it’s on your nails, but there is very slight shimmer you can see in the sunlight. This shimmer is a brighter violet, which is really complementary.
Application & Formula
The polish was easy to apply, however, it had that thick-yet-runny consistency. As long as you expect it, it’s easy to work with.
One coat covers a lot of the nail already, and then a second coat makes it completely opaque. I’m very pleased with the pigmentation of Jungle Queen – she didn’t make me swing from the vine or wear a loin cloth to get a good manicure. 😉

Jungle Queen by China Glaze is a different colour than I’m used to wearing, and since I liked it, I wore this manicure for about 5 days straight. 🙂 This is a great palate cleanser for me, especially since I’ve been wearing lots of bright hues lately.

if i had know there would be so many less expensive dupes, i never would have bought that second bottle!
It does look a lot like Paradoxal but it doesn’t have the beautiful pronounced shimmer. The base color is pretty spot on, I think. I’m satisfied with this one because I’m not willing to pay Chanel prices for nail polish.

Chanel is so expensive, for sure. The only thing I’ve ever bought from them was Chanel Peridot (and a back-up bottle). But the debate I had with myself for spending that money was a very long one. Love the colour, but the price took a major bite out of my wallet.

Although I don’t own Chanel Paradoxal, I agree with Cynthia from what I’ve seen online. Jungle Queen has some shimmer, but it isn’t as obvious as it seems to be in Paradoxal.
Haha, and I know how you feel about buying a Chanel back-up polish. I did the same thing with Chanel Peridot…and now there are so many more-economical dupes on the market. D’oh! 😛
I’m going to have to get this one just to compare it to similar ones I have. It’s a sick compulsion I have. 🙂

Great review. Not sure if I will be purchasing this one. I have a lot of gray/purples and chocolates that I don’t wear now. I also am really watching the shades that have such subtle show of other color that I am the only one who knows it’s there. I have too many of those as well. Over all not thinking the Safari collection is that exciting – but I am a sucker for great creams which this collection seems to have a good share of.

I hear ya – this colour area has become really saturated ever since Sephora by OPI Metro Chic burst onto the scene. I was a bit late arriving to that party, so perhaps that’s why I still feel the excitement for colours like this. 🙂

I ended up liking this gray-ish purple trend more than I thought I would. The one I own is Revlon Naughty (it’s just a re-release of Perplex, I believe). I wore that one for four or five days as well :). I don’t feel compelled to own more than one of this type of color, but I do enjoy how it’s a soft neutral brown with that little shimmery kick to it. And these names just crack me up–I picture a color called things like “Naughty” and “Jungle Queen” as being more bold, not chic and muted.
