When I was in daycare, I met a girl who always ate the white glue. (I can’t remember her name, so let’s just call her Miranda.)
While the rest of us would use the popsicle sticks to smear the glue onto our art projects, Miranda was using them as spoons to scoop the glue from the bowl and then shovel it down the hatch.
Being curious, I asked her why she ate it, and I told her that it wasn’t food. She didn’t answer and helped herself to more before the daycare workers came and took away the bowl.
Why am I bringing this up? Sometimes I enjoy rambling! Haha…seriously, though, there is a point.

Fragrance
The Bath & Body Works Pearberry soap smelled really juicy, fresh, and fruity. There’s sweetness from the pear, and I was able to pick up on the berries, too. This is a delicious scent that smells very authentic, even if it’s synthetic.
Pearberry is really simple and not cloying. (If bakery-type scents are too heavy for you, this is a great alternative. It’s sweet without being heavy.) I’d go so far as to say that this fragrance smells bright – it reminds me of happy summer memories.
After washing your hands, it leaves behind a very mild fragrance that isn’t offensive at all. This is great because Pearberry won’t compete with your perfume, and men won’t be hesitant to use a soap that makes them smell ‘girly’.
This is the first time that I’ve tried anything from the Pearberry line, and because it’s so good, I’m thinking about getting the body mist and the shower gel. This is the kind of scent that’s a great pick-me-up.
Pearberry was my first time trying any pear scent, and I was surprised to find out that I don’t just like it, but I love the smell of pears!
Efficacy
Even though the Anti-Bacterial Deep Cleansing formula tends to be drying and harsh on my hands, I still like it. When my hands are greasy, this soap gets them clean.
There are little blue beads suspended in the peach-coloured gel. When you wash your hands, those beads exfoliate your hands. (This is what provides the ‘deep cleansing’.)
If you use this soap in the winter and wash your hands often, I highly recommend that you apply hand lotion after using this or your skin will be terribly dried out.
Packaging
I’m not a big fan of the odd-shaped bottle – it looks clumsy. I would much prefer if it came in a rectangular bottle or a cylindrical one. But that’s a minor criticism because while I don’t like the packaging, I also don’t feel like taking off tons of points because of it.
The pump functions perfectly fine, and the lean, tall bottle silhouette means it won’t take up much space on your counter. I just feel that aesthetically, the bottle shape isn’t appealing.

If you’ve never tried the Bath & Body Works Pearberry Anti-Bacterial Deep Cleansing Hand Soap, you’re missing out big time! It has a scent that I think would be appealing to many people of all different ages. No wonder it’s in their “Classic” line!

I actually find the bottle shape to be a bit more stable, if not aesthetically pleasing, than round bottles. The square base doesn’t tip over as easily on the back of the kitchen sink.

I never saw or tried this scent. They have their Yellow Tag sale in stores now so they’re bringing out the classics. I haven’t found Pearberry. I have been looking for the Pink Grapefruit body spray because when I borrowed my mom’s bottle, i spilled about half by accident so I want to buy her a replacement,

Pearberry should be out on the floor. Maybe they sold out already – wow, that was fast! And the grapefruit one you mentioned is lovely. I’ve only smelled the body wash, and I just love that kind of fragrance when taking a shower in the morning. It really energizes you!
I’m pretty sure they sold out because they have the shower gels for the classic scents and body spray for Deep Aqua. I think that’s the only one left because that’s the only body spray I see now. I wish it was the opposite because I have tons of shower gels from birthdays and Christmas’ but not many body sprays. I guess I should have gone earlier. I actually went on December 27th and I got the last Pink Grapefruit so now I have my mom’s old bottle while she gets a full one.

Hahaha I love the way you started this post…unexpected but so funny. My mom just loves BBW’s hand soaps–and conveniently, there’s usually a sale on them right around Christmas and her birthday. She hasn’t tried this scent yet, but I think she really likes Dancing Waters and Kitchen Lemon (which apparently is really good for cutting through strong food odors). This Pearberry scent intrigues me–I never really thought of pear as transferring well to a fragrance for some reason, but it sounds like this one is a winner!

I’ve also heard great things about Kitchen Lemon for getting rid of fish or garlic aromas. When I run low on hand soap, I’m going to get one for my kitchen.
Yeah, this pear scent really took me by surprise. It smells exactly like when you’re about to eat a fresh, juicy, sweet pear. I didn’t even know I loved that smell so much until I used this soap!
3rd grade, kid named Vincent in my class LOVED scooping paste out of the bucket with a ruler and chow down on it! Why is there always one kid in everyones lives that eats the glue and/or paste? 🙂

Fresh Market Apple smells so good – really smells clean. I’ve been getting into Bath & Body Works’ hand soaps since last year – love how they have so many great scents. It sure beats the boring Dial soap I used to get.
This scent sounds interesting! I have to say though when I first read the beginning I misread it and thought you were saying that you always ate glue in daycare. Gosh, silly me! Bath and Body Works makes too delicious smelling scents sometimes. If only they could offer an edible equivalent!

AHAHAHA – noooooo way! I only used glue how it was intended to be used. Even “Miranda” couldn’t tempt me to try it. Haha, I remember being really grossed out because it was the first time I had seen anyone eat the glue, and she had it all over her face. :S
Oh boy! If Bath & Body Works opened up a bakery, it would be a hit. Even if their food was terrible, they’d probably burn the Slatkin & Co. candles at the bakery just to entice customers. It would work.
I never did get why some kids ate paste. I doubt it tastes good. Maybe it’s the pudding-like texture? Hahaha, I totally understand wanting to chow down on something unedible! I felt the same with the Danish Butter Cookie candle. I feel like I’ll get diabetes just sniffing at it!
You’re right about this being drying. That’s why I’ve stopped using this particular line and have opted for the foam ones instead. I love the scents but the dryness..not so much.

Yeah, I never understood it, either. The smell was always not appetizing. These people must have had some kind of medical condition. I feel really badly for them if they feel compelled often to eat things that are not meant to be eaten. I really hope that “Miranda” just went through a phase. Oh, you don’t find the foam soaps to be drying? I find them to be not as drying as these Deep Cleansing ones, but still pretty drying, well, in the winter.
