I’m not a very bright and sunny person, and the colors I like reflect that. So it’s not really a surprise that Revlon Orange Pop is my first ever orange nail polish. But you know what? I like the happy-go-lucky, look-at-me-I’m-more-vibrant-than-the-sun, and I-demand-all-the-attention-you-can-give-me orange.
Although I probably wouldn’t have picked this up if it weren’t scented. Yes, I was drawn in forcefully by the novelty of a scented nail polish. I’m weak. Sue me. 😛 I call this a novelty because, well, this fad fades fast. The color, however, I think is here to stay. It’s very pretty, and I would wear it even if the polish isn’t fragranced.

Revlon Orange Pop Scented Nail Polish Review
Color
The color of Revlon Orange Pop Scented Nail Polish really does remind me of the soda – it’s a very artificial orange…artificial in terms of food. I don’t particularly like ingesting orange soda because it looks like it’s just chemicals, but on my nails I absolutely love it! It’s so bright and cheerful. It’s not a red orange; it has a slight, slight tinge of pink with a shimmer that makes it not obnoxious. Love.
Fragrance
Don’t sniff Revlon Orange Pop Scented Nail Lacquer straight out of the bottle! It’s “Scented When Dry.” Yes, I made that mistake. Hahah. I just wanted to smell what it’s like! It doesn’t have as strong of a “nail polish stink,” and you can actually get a small whiff of the orange pop fragrance. But still, avoid putting the bottle to your nose!
I also appreciate the scent of the formula as I was applying it. It’s by no means pleasant, but again, the normal nail polish stink isn’t as strong.
After it dries, it does smell like orange soda. I was kind of disappointed because I had it in my mind that it’s Orange Popsicle, so I was hoping for it to smell like Creamsicles! But no, the scent is orange pop, but way more artificially sweet. I know you probably don’t expect it to smell exactly like orange soda anyway, so it’s not a disappointment.
You can’t really smell it from afar, only when you put your finger up to your nose (or when picking it, I guess? :P). The scent lasts about 24 hours, and then you can hardly smell it.
Consistency & Application
Revlon Scented Orange Pop has a thin consistency, a lot thinner that what I’m used to. If you load up too much on the brush, it literally runs off like a leaky tap. But application wasn’t too hard as it does even itself out on the nail pretty well and it dries smoothly. I did experience very slight bubbling, but it just might be the humidity in the air.
Opacity
You’ll need three coats with this. It’s quite sheer from just one coat of Orange Pop by Revlon. The second coat gives the color more depth and saturation, but I still found it not opaque enough. So three coats it is.
Ingredients
For those who check their ingredient lists for every product, Revlon Scented Polish in Orange Pop is free of toluene and formaldehyde.
Value
I paid $6.29 CAD for this. It’s not horrible, but for a drugstore brand, it’s more on the high side. And it’s more expensive than non-drugstore brands that are top-notch when it comes to quality. It’s definitely more expensive because of the scented novelty. I really like this color, so I think this is worth it for me.

Final Verdict: 7.9/10
If this wasn’t a scented nail polish, Orange Pop would still appeal to me. I’m really glad I finally got myself an orange. The fragrance just adds something special to the polish, but I don’t think it should be the main reason why you get it – the scent fades faster than the color does, so make sure you like the shade!
Have you tried Revlon scented nail polishes? Do you think it’s just a novelty and it’s not worth getting?
This color is super cute! Very summery and pretty on you 😀

Hi EsteeDarla!
Glad my review helped! I just recently got into bright and sunny colors, and I’m really liking this orange. 🙂
It’s too bad that it’s sold out where you’re at. I still see Orange Pop almost everywhere here. Which area are you from?
