Let me tell you the best and easiest secret to brightening your eyes: beauty sleep! There. Now you know. Post done. Have a good day, all.
If only it were that easy. 😛 (April Fools!) I know it’s hard to get in the much needed hours of sleep at night, what with life getting in the way and all. Who has time to sleep?! I don’t. And sometimes I just don’t want to sleep. So I’m here to share with you a couple of tips to brightening your eyes – in literally less than a minute.
Ta da da da (pretend it’s a trumpet in a royal court) – white eyeliner! Or if you think white is too stark, go for a cream-colored shimmery liner that blends easier with your skin tone. The key here is to play with highlights.
Tips to Brightening Your Eyes
Apply your normal eye makeup, whether it’s just shadow, liner or everything including fake lashes. Then…
- Step 1: Apply the white or shimmery liner in the corner of your eyes. A pretty well-known trick, but it really does make a difference in opening up the eyes! It’ll also help
small eyes appear a bit larger.
Usually shadow compacts come with a highlight color; you can use that, too. But I like a liner better since you get better precision… especially for the next step.
Step 2: Apply the white or shimmery liner along your lower waterline.
I’m tired almost all the time, and this picks up the light to help my eyes look more well-rested.
What I Use
NYX Slim Eye Pencil (a.k.a. Eye/Eyebrow Pencil) in White Pearl. The Pearl finish of this pencil really gives the highlight that oomph. The plain White pencil might be a bit too stark. I usually apply the highlight and lightly blend with my finger. Literally takes seconds!
Whoa! My eyes look freaky all lined up like that. Haha!
Do you have any tips and tricks to brighten your eyes? Share, so I can try them!
I’ve always wondered how to correctly use white eyeliner to brighten my eyes. When I tried in the past, it’s always looked too bright and wierd, but this tutorial really helped! Thanks Fiona! 😀
