Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick Airy Fairy is the perfect pink for those who want a natural look. This gives your pout that my-lips-but-better effect.
It’s suitable for daily wear because it goes with pretty much everything. And coming from a woman who doesn’t wear lipstick on a daily basis (and who prefers lip gloss), I can tell you that this shade is very easy to pull off.
In addition to the color, I love it because it’s inexpensive and the drugstores near me usually have it in stock. But there are a couple of things that really bother me about it. Want to know? Find out!

Rimmel Airy Fairy Lipstick Review
Color
The Rimmel Airy Fairy lipstick is a neutral pink with the tiniest bit of frost. It’s not extremely cool- or warm-toned, so I can picture a lot of people being able to sport this without any trouble.
You’ll get subtle sheen that gives your lips that something extra instead of a matte shade that can emphasize dryness and fine lines.
Formula
The Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Airy Fairy is wonderfully pigmented. It goes on smoothly. But it’s not moisturizing. I find that it tends to accentuate dryness and imperfections of your lips.
To minimize this, make sure your lips are in top condition. Use a lip scrub, apply lip balm, use this lipstick, and then slick on a lip gloss over it.
Lasting Power
Because Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick Airy Fairy doesn’t have a super-creamy formula and is on the drier side, it lasts quite a long time on my lips. If I don’t eat or drink anything, it lasts about 3 hours. After that point, it begins to fade, and it fades evenly so you don’t get that ring-around-your-lips look.
Fragrance
I’m not a fan of the smell. It’s nothing really strong or offensive, but it has that pasty-plastic scent that’s pretty common in your typical lipstick. And since I’ve been spoiled by wearing MAC lipsticks (and they have a yummy vanilla aroma), this isn’t as nice in comparison. (I deducted 1 point off the Final Verdict score for this.)
While wearing the lipstick, I didn’t notice any taste like you can get with some lipsticks with fragrance. If you’re really particular/sensitive about scented lip products, avoid this one at all costs!
Price & Accessibility
The Rimmel London Airy Fairy lipstick is very affordable and tends to go on sale regularly, so you can always find a good deal. And you won’t need to run out and stock up on this because it’s easy to find at most drugstores.
Packaging
The dark shiny tube has an angled cap with an engraved crown graphic on the top. And the rest is like your standard lipstick tube that turns at the base to reveal more product. No frills.
Ingredients
It’s very peculiar, but Rimmel didn’t list the ingredients on the packaging. And I couldn’t find them on the internet, either. This made me deduct 3 points off the Final Verdict score because it creeps me out not knowing what I’m putting on my lips. For all I know, there could be really-bad chemicals in it. In this day and age, it’s important to be a savvy consumer, and if we can’t even access the ingredients list, what else are we to go on?
Discontinued?
I’ve heard rumors about the Rimmel London Airy Fairy lipstick being discontinued. But I haven’t seen any confirmations whether or not this is true. If any Swatch And Learn readers know anything about this, please leave a comment to let me and others know!

Final Verdict: 6/10
If you’re looking for a neutral pink lipstick that’s easy-to-wear on a daily basis because it complements many different looks, the Rimmel Airy Fairy Lasting Finish Lipstick is a great economical choice if you don’t mind a slightly pasty-plastic scent.
Have you worn any other Rimmel lipstick shades? Do you prefer neutral or bold lip colors?
It looks like a really nice neutral for me but the not listing the ingredients thing is rather fishy :/

Hi Alaeis! Yeah, not listing the ingredients makes me very uncomfortable, too. And if someone has cosmetic allergies, they can’t even check to make sure the product is suitable for them.
I find that there are a bunch of Rimmel products that don’t list the ingredients. Isn’t there a law saying that you must? It’s so strange!
Yeah, I thought that here in Canada (at least in Ontario where I live) it is necessary to have the ingredients listed on the package. :/
Hey Ashley!
Maybe they have it on their website now. I haven’t checked in a while. But on the packaging, they definitely don’t have it. I’ve noticed this not just with Rimmel, but also with Annabelle – a brand that I was going to try until I couldn’t find the ingredients on something.
Considering that I have a cosmetic allergy to bismuth oxychloride, I won’t even try a product if I can’t find out what’s in it. Even if I wasn’t allergic, it still makes me uncomfortable not knowing.
THE SMELL! UGH! The color is just gorgeous but I hardly ever wear it because I hate the smell of it and I also find it really drying. Such a shame.
I’ve got one other Rimmel lipstick in a colour called Vintage Pink, but it’s a different kind and has different packaging. It’s also a bit drying but not as much as Airy Fairy.

Yeah, it smells like paste and plastic…not the most attractive scent. If they improved this, they’d make more sales for sure.
Oh how excited I was to see this on here as I just picked it up! Its funny how different each person is as I personally like the scent (reminds me of soda) lol. Maybe I am just odd? Also I found mine to be very creamy and moistrizing! I have actually been reaching for it in lieu of my chapstick. Lol…maybe a different formula in the US? Anyway love the site!
Hey Malia! It’s good to hear that the formula of yours is better and that you actually like the fragrance. Seems like you’re quite happy with the purchase.
