Okay, so I was on a nail-art roll for my last few consecutive posts. Thought that I’d change it up just a little, but keep the food theme going. (I really must be hungry! Hehe…)
Anything with the word s’mores in it immediately gets my attention. C’mon…who doesn’t like yummy marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers? It reminds me of all those happy nights by the campfire – great summer memories when I was growing up!
It also reminds me of the time not long ago when I tried to make s’mores using my stove. Let’s just say that it didn’t exactly turn out right. There’s something about holding your marshmallows on a twig over a roaring campside fire that makes it taste delicious.
So when I saw the new Slatkin & Co. S’mores Candle, I was all over it like the hungry beauty wolf that I am. Clearly, gourmand fragrances excite this blogger’s snout.
Since the Bath & Body Works s’mores candle is so new, I could only get my hands on the trial-size, which is a mere 45 g (1.6 oz.)! But that’s okay because unlike the incident I had with the Slatkin & Co. Cotton Candy Candle, at least this time I could test it without having to invest a lot if I didn’t like it.
Did the s’mores scented candle flop, or did it make me flip for joy? There’s only one way to find out!

Slatkin & Co. S’mores Candle Review
Fragrance
The S’mores scented candle by Slatkin & Co. smells scrumptious! I can detect the marshmallows and a hint of chocolate. There’s also a slight sweetness that reminds me of graham crackers.
If you’re into sweet, foody scents, you’re going to love this. It’ll totally remind you of the real thing. But be warned – it’s gonna make you crave s’mores like crazy! At least that’s what happened to me! 🙂
Scent Throw
I tested this candle out in a small room because it wouldn’t be fair to expect it to work well in a large open area. (When the large candle comes out in this scent, I’m definitely going to get it for my living room.)
The scent was mild enough not to give me a headache, but it was noticeable enough so I didn’t feel like I was literally just burning wax. Overall, I was pleased with its scent throw.
If you’re expecting to be slapped in the face with a strong scent, you’ll be disappointed. This is definitely a more understated fragrance.
Burning
This was my first experience with the 1.6 oz. candle, and I have to say that I don’t like the way it burns. Yes, it does burn evenly without getting that canyoning effect, but the flame kept going out after burning it for 1 hour straight. I’d have to let it cool, trim the wick, and light it again, which was annoying.
I much prefer the large candle size because I rarely have wick issues with it.
My suggestion is that if you like this scent, just wait for it to come out in the bigger size. The scent throw will be even better, too.
Packaging
They say that good things come in small packages. This is such a cute package! For some reason, I picture my mom’s cat, Pingu, using this candle because it’s the right size for him. (Yes, I sometimes think about Pingu going about his business in a very human-like manner.)
The photo on the front makes me drool just looking at it. In between two rectangular graham crackers, there’s a melting mountain of goodness – marshmallows and dark chocolate dripping! Oh gosh – writing about that is making me hungry for it now. (I’d better not accidentally eat the candle in my sleep tonight! Eww…And no, that has never happened before in case you were wondering.)
Seasonal Availability
Like many of Bath & Body Works candles, I understand that this one will be only available for a limited time, so if you like it, get it. But you don’t have to rush out just yet. It’s still brand-spankin’ new, so it’ll take some time before the small and large candles of it hit a store near you.
Price
These small suckers are so wallet-friendly! I appreciate that since I’m on a budget. Plus the 3 for $5 USD deal they have lets me try a few different scents without having to commit to the full-size.

Final Verdict: 9/10
I didn’t give it a perfect score because of the wick issue I mentioned. Other than that, I think this is a delicious-smelling candle that the little kid in you will go nuts over!
Will you be snatching up this candle in the larger size? Are you like me and still try to make s’mores at home? Do you add anything else to your s’mores other than the traditional ingredients? And one more question – can you make some for me the next time you go camping? (Hehe, it was worth a shot!)
YUM

Oh no! There goes my candle…Thenailaholic ate it! 😛 Haha
I second the aforementioned “yum” 😉 I’m a candle-aholic… I once smelled the mashed potato candle that the White Barn Candle Co. came out with, and knew if I got it, I’d be hungry all of the time… it really did smell like buttery mashed potatoes.

Hey Leah!
I’ve never even seen a mashed-potato scented candle before! I love it when companies put out unique fragrances. Now I wish I could find it just to smell it. I don’t doubt that it made you hungry…hehe! And I just had mashed potatoes (with my homemade shepherd’s pie) a few days ago…Mmm!
Leah, I tried to leave a comment on your blog, but for some reason, the form to leave a comment isn’t showing up. I just wanted to say that I’ve tried Nail Tek Foundation II (the ridge-filling base coat) and it works really well to smooth the nail. It’s not big-3-free, though, if it matters to you.
I’m definitely a starches fan, and potatoes are my fave!
Thanks for letting me know. I’ll look at all of my comment stuff and see what’s going on. Picky blogger site! I did know that it wasn’t completely “free”, and in an ideal world I’d be good and worry about it, but I’m not incredibly particular. 🙂 Thanks for the info on the base coat!

No problem! I’ll check back on your blog again to see if it’ll let me comment. And if you try out the base coat, let me know what you think! A lot of people seem to like that one.
Oh wow I didnt know they had this. THANKS for sharing!! I must go get the full size when they have it 🙂 MMM

Hey Amber!
Definitely! I can see this one being very popular. Hope they’ll produce enough to fill the demand. I’ll definitely get the large size – just hope it smells as good as my trial version.
This candle is making me crave s’mores just looking at it! I’ll have to try this out. I had no idea this was coming out. Thanks for sharing!
Hey Katie!
The tiny trial version is actually available now on their website, but I think you should definitely wait for the larger sizes because the scent throw will be better. I just hope that the larger versions smell as good as my tiny one.
If you like these kind of gourmand candles, you may also like the Frosted Cupcake one. It’s not new, but it’s one of my all-time favorites from Bath & Body Works because it smells so real and not artificial.
