China Glaze Electropop Collection Spring 2012 Press Release & Promo PicturesHave you heard about the China Glaze ElectroPop Collection that comes out in February?

Seeing the press release and promotional pictures of all the shades made me smile from ear to ear. (I’m the Cheshire Cat, after all, right?)

Since I received the pictures from PR yesterday, I’ve been really excited to show you!

I’m always craving bright colours any time of year, and these look really promising.

Plus…there’s a greeeeeen! Yeah, you saw my green obsession coming from a mile away. It was sprouting from my ears…like Jack and the beanstalk. (I really should clean my ears more or try for a bonsai tree instead.)

My Thoughts:

I’m pretty excited about the China Glaze ElectroPop Collection because I’m ready for bright colours. You know me – I love the bold and the beautiful. 😉

Of course, Gaga For Green caught my eye, and the bling from Techno caught my other eye! And if I had 12 eyeballs, I could have one per shade in this collection, but I’d probably look pretty weird, and it would cost a fortune to change my prescription.

I also wonder if Sunshine Pop will be a streak-free one-coater, and if I’ll fall in love with Sweet Hook as much as my beloved OPI Do You Lilac It?.

Plus there aren’t too many periwinkles in my collection, so the bottles are getting lonely and have been pressuring me for a sister. 😉

Do any of these colours appeal to you? Are you so over the winter and ready for spring like I am?

I am going to get them all. Not a dud in the bunch! I have been excited to see all the spring collections but none so far have appeared to be as consistently fun and wearable as this one. I can’t wait for swatches!

      Hey MissB!

WOW – you’re going to get them all! LUCKY YOU! If you take any photos when you’re wearing this, please feel free to post any or all on Swatch And Learn’s Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/SwatchAndLearn). I’m sure that others would also love to see them on your nails!

I can’t wait to wear these, either! I’m really feeling this collection – what a great pick-me-up! 🙂

I am trying to hold out. ChG has some great upcoming collections like; magnetic, prismatic chroma, and Hunger Games. All 3 of those have several shades I want!

      Hey Dawn J!

China Glaze is amazing, aren’t they? I love how they not only join in on the trends, but they also go their own way (like with Hunger Games). 🙂

I’m soooo excited about techno! I can’t get glitter off my mind!! Other than this amazing looking glitter I’m looking forward to the brights, especially sunshine pop…I don’t have many yellows, 1 or 2 at most. I’ve felt like they never look good on my skin tone, but hopefull I can work with this one 😀

      Hey Frosso!

I know what you mean about glitter! Hehe, it’s so versatile, too, and I love seeing how everyone layers glitter polishes over different colours for beautiful manicures. (The only thing I’m not crazy about is the removal, but if you do the ‘crime’, then you have to do the time. :P)

As for yellow polishes, you know, I never thought that they would work on me, but it’s all about finding that sweet shade. The ones that are close to egg yolks make me look sick, but clean, bright yellows surprisingly work on my skintone. Hope that this one will work for you. If not, there will be more, I’m sure, as we get closer to spring and summer! 🙂

Nail-polish companies should try creating some new formula especially for glitter-polish removal. I can see it being a big hit and also bringing in more people to the dark…err…glitter side. 😉

      Hey maddy!

China Glaze does glitters so well, don’t they? Even though you’re more into cremes, do you have a favourite China Glaze glitter?

(I’m still contemplating getting Marry A Millionaire. I want it so badly, but I’ll have to order it online. That means to make up for the high shipping, I’ll have to order several other bottles, but I’m trying to save. Oh, what a first-world problem, right? :P)

I have Marry A Millionaire and I love it. I actually like Some Like it Haute because it has holographic glitter too. It also has a nice charcoal base. My only problem is that to make it opaqcue enough, it gets really thick and peels off easily. What is your favorite CG Glitter?

Some Like It Haute is really pretty. I saw it at Sally Beauty Supply, but I foolishly put it back. :S I doubt it’s still there, so I may have to order that one online when I order Marry A Millionaire.

Hmm…My favourite China Glaze glitter? Gosh, there are so many that they did so well! But…I’d have to say Blue Sparrow – it’s such a cheerful blue, and I don’t have anything that’s quite like it.

These are out already! I found these to be a little disapointing…I got aquadelic, gaga for green, techno, sweet hook, and Kinetic candy. When I got home, I realized that aquadelic is a tad bit brighter than For audrey, and gaga for green was almost a dupe for opi Greenwich village. I should have also known that techno was similar to OPI serving up sparkle, but I’m a zombie for glitter. I can’t help but buy anything that’s sparkly haha.

Wow, you’ve found yours so early! I never have any luck finding new, complete China Glaze collections prior to the release date. (I need to shop where you’re shopping. :P)

I’m not sure about this collection, but the colors are great though! I just don’t think I want or need them all. I always feel like the odd person out whenever cremes are released. I think I’m just usually drawn to more complex shades. I’m also really excited for the Hunger Games, Prismatic, and the Magnetix collection, so I might be saving my money for those. But I really do like these bright shades. I hardly own any cremes and the ones I do are light pastels. The ones I’m most interested from this collection are Sweet Hook, Dance Baby, Kinetic Candy, and Techno.

Okay…I’ve broken the news to the family and informed them that they will have to move over a bit to make some room for Aquadelic, Gaga for Green, Make Some Noise, Fuschia Fanatic, Wicked Style, and possibly a few others if the purples turn out to be irresistible (don’t they always?).

It’s starting to look like I might have to buy another polish box. That means another trip to the Container Store…the Container Store is right across from the Sephora store….the Sephora store is right down the road from Icing….Icing is just down the way from Sally’s….

Good gracious! What’s a polish addict to do????

Oh, I’m sure that they’ll be so happy that the family is growing bigger! 😉 And I’m sure that you’re quite happy, too!

Haha, I wonder if they’ve planned it like that. It definitely is a very dangerous route when all those stores are so close together, isn’t it? That’s when you say, “Oh, since it’s right here, I may as well pop in…y’know, just to browse.” And then you walk out with a handful of polishes or things to hold your polishes! 😉

I picked up Gaga For Green, Sunshine Pop, Make Some Noise, Gothic Lolita, Dance Baby and Sweet Hook. I thought I was going to like them more but I feel underwhelmed. They were all streaky. However, I like Gaga For Green and Sunshine Pop the best.

PS. I love the new layout!

      Hey lacquerloon!

Great choices, and wow, you went all out! Aww…sorry that you felt underwhelmed. I’m sad to hear that they were streaky.

Were the polishes really thick? Is that why they were streaky, or was the formula thin, but still streaky?

(Thank you! 🙂 Glad you’re loving the new layout. Still lots more to tweak when I have time, though.)

I like Kinetic Candy, Electric Beat and Techno from the pics. However, I would want to see a swatch of Techno before buying it, for fear that I already own something very similar. On the same note, I like a lot of the pastel cremes, but those are the cremes I’m most drawn to anyway. I’d have to see them in person to see how they compare and decide which are different enough to add to my collection.

I’m so looking forward to this collection because no matter what time of year it is… I like my polish bright! Unless I’m in the mood for un-bright polishes… but that’s just mostly for contrast. 😉 I am definitely going to need aquadelic, sunshine pop, and gaga for green… and maybe that periwinkle electric beat cuz I don’t think I really have any periwinkles. Also, I like that glitter, but it looks kinda similar to OPI Servin Up Sparkle.. so I’ll have to see. Guess I need 5 eyes… I wonder if having an uneven number will thow off my depth perception..?

Oh, really? You don’t have China Glaze Secret Peri-Wink-le? That’s the periwinkle polish I’ve heard the most about, and I only bought it last year! Haven’t tried it yet, but it’s gorgeous in the bottle. If you haven’t tried it, maybe you could try that one.

Hahaha, 5 eyes? Can you imagine how funny glasses would look on you? And they’d be VERY expensive to boot! 😛

Crazy stuff, lol. I read the latest blog post u had with the green polish from Sally Hansen and thought to myself, hmm, it must have been fate that u were supposed to find that polish, lol. Now that is one color i couldn t pull off, dark greens look awful on me. a little of topic and/or color, but i bought black nail polish at a dollar store one day and let me tell you, this polish stained my nails…so i learned my lesson, wear a base coat and/or top coat to avoid this. i realized this after i took the polish off, it made my nails look like they were bruised, lol. So in conclusion, ALWAYS wear either a base coat or top coat BEFORE applying this. Funny, any other black polish i bought in the past never did that.

Haha, yes, I may have wanted Sally Hansen Project Runway soooo badly that I WILLED it into that clearance bin for me to find! 😛 Now, if only I could will MONEY into my wallet, then I’d be set (and famous for being a genie).

Wow, the staining from that black polish you mentioned sounds horrible! And, actually, I’ve never even heard of ANY black polish staining anyone’s nails, so I’m surprised! They must’ve put a lot of harsh dyes in the formula. But, yes, it’s a good idea to wear a base coat, and when you wear that black polish, maybe even double-up on the base coat just to make sure you don’t wind up with nails that look bruised!
