One of my guilty pleasures is watching Keeping Up with the Kardashians. I haven’t seen every single episode, but when I catch it on TV, I usually watch it. And, for some reason, I’m often painting my nails when it’s on. Shocking, I know. đ
So when I heard about the upcoming Nicole by OPI Kardashian Kolors Collection, curiosity got the best of me.
Thankfully I am not a cat or I would’ve been killed, apparently. (I never thought the saying was fair. Why must the cat die just because it was curious? Poor thing!)
Since I don’t have a picture of the nail-polish display, I had some fun and put together that graphic really quickly. It shows 3 of the colours that I’m most excited to wear.
See the rest of this post for the official press release including the promo pictures for all 14 nail lacquers in this collection! At the end, I’ll also weigh in and tell you my first impressions.

My thoughts:
Based on the bottle pictures above, it looks like there’s a good variety of colours that will appeal to many different people. You’ve got the reds, pinks, and white that are more traditional, there’s a glitterbomb and other sparkly polishes, and you also have deeper hues.
Rainbow in the S-Kylie, Kendall on the Katwalk, and Khloe Had a Little Lam-Lam look like they’ll be my favourites. And closer to Christmas, I’m sure that I’ll want to pull out Disco Dolls and Sealed with a Kris to get festive.
Stay tuned next month for when I post swatches and reviews on some polishes from the Kardashian Kolors Collection. Also in November, I plan to do a comparison post featuring OPI Rainbow Connection, Nicole by OPI Rainbow in the S-Kylie, and Milani Gems.
Edit: Woo hoo! I was featured on the official Nicole by OPI Facebook page!
Edit: PR sent me some great photos from when Suzi Weiss-Fischmann joined the Kardashian/Jenner family to celebrate the opening of the family’s new lifestyle boutique, Kardashian Khaos on January 3rd, 2012.
What do you think about the Kardashian Kolors Collection from Nicole by OPI? Are there any colours that spark your interest? Or will you reserve judgement for when you see them in person or swatched? Do you have a favourite Kardashian sister?
I was thinking the same thing when I saw Rainbow in the S-kylie! Is this one a limited edition release or like the Justin Bieber line? It would be great to to have more Rainbow Connection options in case it sells out fast. And I don’t doubt it will. Very excited about that comparison post!
The colors give you a good variety although someone in PR sure had a field day with those names. đ

Hey Carmela!
I’m inclined to think that this will be a limited-edition release because it’s Nicole by OPI’s holiday collection. It’ll probably be around for a while, but after the colours sell out, I doubt they’ll re-stock. I’ll ask to find out for sure, though.
Definitely good that there’s at least 2 other polishes that seem to be dupes or very similar in the bottle. It seems like OPI Rainbow Connection is already selling like hotcakes. Some people said that at smaller beauty stores, they’ve seen The Muppets display out already! And, of course there was no more Rainbow Connection left. I wonder if the people in the store just bought it. They’d have first dibs on everything. Sweet job! đ
Okay, so I asked PR and they said this collection will be available for at least 8 months! Great news for those who want to hunt down these colours! đ
There looks to be a lot of dupes of recent colors in this collection. I don’t think I’ll be going after these unless the swatches prove me wrong. The white, pink and reds aren’t too special in my opinion. Rainbow in the S-Kylie definitely is dupey for Rainbow connection (but looks like with smaller glitter). The gold looks like China Glaze Blonde Bombshell. Kendall on the Katwalk looks like CG skyscraper. Listen to your Momager looks a tad darker than China Glaze Blue Year’s Eve but very similar. And the grey and dark vampy colors… well there’s tons of those too. So far the ones I’m excited for are Follow Me on Glitter….me love my glitters!
but of course.. I’ll have to wait for swatches. Bottle pictures never do justice đ
Oh no. Aftering looking at my polish stash, I held up a bottle of China Glaze Tinsel Town and the color looks very similar to Follow Me On Glitter.
Haha, hopefully in person they aren’t as dupe-y.
Hey Vivian!
I’m looking at Rainbow in the S-Kylie now side-by-side with Rainbow Connection, and the glitter sizes seem to be identical. Even the colours seem exactly the same. But I’ll need to compare them on my nails or a swatch wheel to show everyone.
As you know, I’m not the biggest fan of pink, but I’m curious to try this soft pink out. When I look at the bottle in the light, it has blue/purple microshimmer. Sometimes that takes a boring pink and makes it something special. From the promo picture, it just looks flat.
It must be the packaging that makes me think the glitters are different sizes. At least this is good news for people who can’t find Rainbow Connection in the stores, and like me who really want a back up lol.
and I can’t wait to see that pink swatch! Yea, these bottle pictures make the colors look soooo boring and flat. I think Follow Me on Glitter might even have holo glitter (can’t really tell..). If it does, then it’ll be quite different than Tinsel Town.
I’ll be sure to share my swatches next month when I do the comparison. đ It’ll make a lot of people happy if this is a dead-on dupe.
I’m really hoping that I’ve finally found a soft pink that’ll work with my skin tone. *Crosses fingers, toes, and eyes*
hahaha yes.. a pink that we can actually wear!! if not, I’ll be making one of my friend’s little sisters very happy lol
Haha! đ
Hah! My friend love the Kardashians and made me watch an episode… all I remember is them talking about breast milk and the taste. I would say I think they’re gross but I probably can’t talk since I love Jersey Shore (which is probably just as bad). I agree with preivious posters, lot’s of dupe-y colours. I’m interested in S-kylie but then I remember that the wholesale store still has a couple bottles of rainbow connection left for $5 that I KEEP LOOKING AT— but never buy because my boyfriend tells me it’s hideous every time. Temptations!

I used matte top coat to make it look…
Hey lulu!
Haha, I remember that episode! Too much information, right? đ And, yes, they’re very crude, but that’s kind of why I’m intrigued by their family. They seem to be really close yet distant at the same time.
Oh nice! Rainbow Connection for $5? What a major score!
Hehe, don’t let your boyfriend talk you out of something that you really like…unless, of course, you decide that you no longer like it. Saving money is cool, too!
I bought a bottle of nail polish at CVS that was from the brand “Confetti” (I had never heard of it before, it was $1.99) and the color was called Tazmanian Devil, and I think it’s a pretty close dupe to Milani Gems/Rainbow Connection/Rainbow in the S-kylie/Deborah Lippman’s Happy Birthday.
I also heard Ulta Pinata yada is similar.
emily Jurow recently posted: Glitter Freaking Tastic- Part Two
Hey Emily!
Oh, that’s pretty awesome. Have you worn Tazmanian Devil? Do you have any photos or have you blogged about it? If so, please leave a link because I’m sure soooo many people (myself included) would be interested in seeing it. đ
Ulta Pinata Yada? Oooohh…never knew about that one, either. Looks like there are so many options for those who can’t get Rainbow Connection. This is great news! đ Thanks for letting us all know.
im very surprised that imdigging these colors with the exception of a few.. idk how many i’ll buy since i do HATE their bottles. LOL
Hey Maria!
Haha, yeah, the bottle shape isn’t my favourite, either…but the colour is what’s most important. đ
Rainbow in the S-Kylie is gorgeous and so it my empire..my rules..
I want to have a collection with OPI!!! hahah

Hey Alexis!
Rainbow in the S-Kylie will make so many people happy, especially if they’ve had trouble getting hold of OPI Rainbow Connection. đ
Hehe, yes, having a collection with OPI would be one of those incredible dreams! What colours would you include if you could put together your own nail collection?
