Give your nails the cosmopolitan treatment with the OPI Washington DC Collection for Fall/Winter 2016!
It officially launches in September, but many people have been able to get their hands on the colours earlier, so keep your eyes peeled like a banana for it.
In this post, I’ll show you the 12 shades, which will be permanent and one of the three limited-edition shades. All are great autumnal shades that make me excited about my favourite season!
I’ve also included the press release, so you can learn more about the inspiration behind this collection.
All of the colours in the OPI Washington DC Collection have good formulas and need 2-3 coats to achieve full opacity.
Hope that you’re all having a great weekend! 🙂 Either today or tomorrow, I’ll be announcing the three lucky winners to my 6-year blogiversary giveaway, so stay tuned!

OPI TEAMS WITH ACTRESS KERRY WASHINGTON ON FALL/WINTER COLLECTION
With its magnificent mix of the historical and the cosmopolitan – Washington, D.C. is one of the world’s most compelling cities. It’s also the inspiration for OPI’s fall/winter lacquer collection.
OPI Washington DC is the result of the number one salon brand’s collaboration with Emmy® and Golden Globe® nominated actress Kerry Washington, recently named the company’s first-ever Creative Ambassador. Washington worked closely with OPI co-founder and brand ambassador Suzi Weiss-Fischmann to develop and name the 12 permanent and 3 limited-edition shades, which are all available in both Nail Lacquer and GelColor formulas. “Kerry is a role model, style icon, nail lacquer lover and absolute natural in this new role,” said Weiss-Fischmann. “She exemplifies the spirit of Washington, D.C. women, and her bold approach to life is evident everywhere from her acting to her activism to her red carpet style.”
“It has been so inspiring to work with Suzi — the first lady of nails — on creating and naming this collection. It’s a real art and science to develop color that will appeal to women of all types and skin tones and that mirrors and complements the runway trends for the season” said Washington. “Nail color is a simple but impactful form of individual expression. Wearing bold shades like these is empowering and uplifting, not to mention a perfect way to show some election year spirit!” she added.
The Washington DC palette delivers a dramatic, sophisticated spin on classic fall hues. From the authoritative red of Madam President to the treasury-worthy deep olive of Suzi – The First Lady of Nails, OPI boldly casts its ballot for color pure and powerful. Fashion-forward lush green Stay Off the Lawn!! adds a jolt of power to fall looks, while (air) traffic-stopping yellow Never a Dulles Moment curries favor with movers and shakers. As a bonus, three limited-edition colors bear Kerry Washington’s stylish imprimatur.
The OPI Washington, D.C. collection includes the following shades in both nail lacquer and GelColor formulas:

Which are your favourite shades from the OPI Washington DC Collection? Are you swooning over the greens in the collection like I am?
These are all great polishes. Thanks for sharing the beautiful fall colors with us.
Hey Melissa!
It’s my pleasure! More swatches of new collections are coming to the blog soon. 🙂
Ooh I love Suzi the First Lady of Nails, Stay off the Lawn!, and CIA – Color is Awesome, and Liv in the Gray. Those will be the first to come home and live with me. I couldn’t help it, I did a double take with the name Yank my Doodle, I’m twelve what can I say? Seriously OPI? Giggles*
Hey Cindi!
Those are some of my favourites, too! 🙂 Love most of these colours.
Yank My Doodle is such a funny name. Hehe, I’m also 12. 😉
The greens and the blue are so gorgeous, love seeing a fall collection with some good greens! I will definitely be scooping those up, glad to hear the formulas are good across the board.
Hey Ashley!
Yes, the greens made this collection a winner for me, as OPI doesn’t usually create a lot of greens.
Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
Great swatches, Mary! I agree with you about the greens, I’ve already bought Suzi-The First Lady of Nails (love that name) and am so excited to wear it come fall. I do find most of the other colors underwhelming, though. Sad because I live near DC and visit the city a lot, and I was really excited for this collection.
Hey Jessica!
Thank you so much for stopping by and taking the time to leave me a sweet comment. 🙂
I’m wearing Suzi – The First Lady of Nails right now. It’s the kind of earthy green that makes my heart sing!
Aww, sorry to hear that you found the collection to be lack-luster. Hopefully their next collection will wow you.
This is the first collection in a while where I don’t want to buy any of the shades! I much prefer the spring/summer offerings from OPI as well as last year’s Venice Collection! x
Hey Jenny!
Oh wow – at least you’ll save money, which is a good thing!
Hehe, as for myself, the greens made me go gaga. (I’m wearing Suzi – The First Lady of Nails right now, and I love it to pieces!)
Ugh, this collection was made for me, my poor wallet! How would you say “Liv in the Grey” compares to OPI Nein Nein Nein Ok Fine? Hopefully they are close to enough where I can convince myself not to buy it
Hey Michaela!
Ohhh, tricky question! I sadly neglect a lot of grey nail polishes and don’t reach for them often.
Hmm, I think that they are quite similar, off the top of my head. So that’s great news for you! 😉
