In exactly 3.865 seconds, this nail-polish addict tore open the OPI-branded cardboard box that arrived in the mail!
The package included not only the entire 18 nail polishes in theย OPI Starlight Collection for Holiday 2015, but also some exciting and quite unexpected goodies! (Hint: Swarovski jewelry and something to appeal to my sweet tooth.)
Although I pulled a Tazmanian Devil when ripping open the box out of sheer enthusiasm, I made sure to photograph the contents, so that we can share the fun experience together!
You may have already seen or purchased some of these shades, but for those who are still on the fence or who are trying to whittle down the choices, I’m hoping that you’ll find my photos (and nailphile comments) to be helpful and/or entertaining.
Today’s post features individual bottle shots, so you can see each colour better, as well as swatches to give you a good idea of the saturation and finish. Additionally, I show you the beautiful collector’s box that they came in.
Get comfy, grab your bag of popcorn, and enjoy the show!
Let’s open up this oyster, and admire the pearl!
Side note: I feel bad for oysters who are bred solely to create pearls. They are purposely irritated, however, it’s inspiring how they make the best of the situation and turn the grain of sand into a treasure to behold. We can extract a deep life philosophy here of oysters teaching humans how to deal with problems.
It makes me think about when I sometimes get an annoying grain of sand in my shoe. Imagine if I left it there instead of dumping it out. Maybe after many years, it would turn into a pearl. Haha, I’m just being silly! (Don’t worry, the nail-polish fumes haven’t gone to my head. Well…at least I don’t think so.)
(Note: No oysters were harmed in the creation of this blog post. The only thing that may suffer is a nailphile’s wallet. Hehe!)
This is what I saw when I opened up the OPI-branded cardboard box!
The crinkle-cut pieces of paper were white and silver – fun and futuristic.
Look, it’s Mama Box and Baby Box!
I love these collectible boxes. Not only do they help me keep colours from the same collection together, but they also are wonderful keepsakes. (I think these boxes are only given out by PR, so they can’t be purchased.)
The attention to the little details always gets me! There’s a little elastic loop pulled over the knob to keep the cover closed. ๐
Inside the larger box, there was a postcard-sized insert. On one side, it features the dual looks as featured in the promotional images you may have seen online and in stores.
(The other side of the card shows all the nail-polish shades, but I didn’t photograph them, as I will be showing you the real bottles in this post.)
Opening the lid, say hello to the newest additions to my polish family! ๐
A family portrait.
Can you feel the love? ๐
Here are all the kids lying down after running around for hours.
Now it’s time to get a closer look at each shade!

Which shades from the OPI Starlight Collection stand out to you the most?
Talk about a sweetie! This is an OPI Starlight Collection lollipop! (I didn’t enjoy it yet, so I’m not sure what flavour it is. Hehe, don’t worry – it’s not made of nail polish.) ๐
What a huge surprise!
It’s the Swarovski Stardust Bracelet!
The only other item I have by Swarovski is a sentimental necklace with a purple heart pendant, which an ex-boyfriend bought me for Christmas years ago.
Now my little Swarovski collection is slowly growing!
You can wrap the bracelet around your wrist twice, but since I have very skinny wrists, it’s a bit too big. Instead, I tried wearing it as a short necklace, and it works! ๐
Wow, it sparkles like crazy, and hehe, am I the only one who first thought it looked like a snake? SssssssSSSSsssssss!
ย Also included was this fun holiday set that contains three full-size nail polishes (one of which is from the OPI Starlight Collection), as well as Swarovski crystals that you can use to create decadent nail art! (There’s a little tube of nail glue, so it’s a great all-in-one kit that’s a fun stocking stuffer.)

Which shades in the OPI Starlight Collection appeal to you the most? Do you have a favourite from the OPI Constellation Chic set? Do any of the nail polishes spark your holiday spirit?
Such gorgeous colors. I already bought Give Me Space and By the Light of the Moon. I’m loving these colors Affair in Red Square is one of my all time favorite OPI colors. I’m already on my 2nd bottle. Thanks for sharing and I can’t wait to see your reviews of the colors.
Hey Melissa!
I have never worn OPI Affair in Red Square, but it looks like a great classic red, especially for the Christmas season. I’m going to try to wear it this year. Fingers crossed! (Hopefully I’ll be able to review it, too.)
Cosmo with a Twist! I like all the names as I am an astronomy buff1
Hey Barbara!
Hehe, so that one’s right up your alley! I love how OPI always comes up with fun names. That’s half the fun when it comes to collecting and wearing nail polishes. Love the creativity!
