Although OPI Orange You Fantastic! is from the Coca-Cola Collection that came out a while ago, and I sported this manicure over a month ago, it totally has an autumnal vibe. So, I thought it was appropriate to show you this glittertastic nail polish in September!
With pieces of red, orange, and yellow glitter, it’s like the beautiful leaves that change colour, and you can bring them with you everywhere you go! How fun is that? 🙂
Normally I’d slick on a shiny top coat, but this time, I felt the need to mattify it with the OPI Matte Top Coat. (I really liked the finished result because it looks almost like frosted glitter.)

OPI Orange You Fantastic! Review
Colour
Orange You Fantastic! by OPI is like fall in nail-polish form because it’s full of yellow, orange, and red, which are the traditional shades of the season.
Each colour blends with the others, so the overall look is very cohesive and stunning!
I have nothing like this polish in my extensive stash, so that alone is very impressive. It certainly stands apart as being very unique.
The base polish isn’t clear like you might expect. Instead, it’s tinted yellow, which I think is interesting, although it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.
Finish
This glitterbomb is not for those who don’t appreciate flashy nails! Haha, this one sparkles like crazy, and every little piece of glitter reflects the light and tries to steal the spotlight!
Since there’s so much glitter, the surface has noticeable texture, but I didn’t feel like it was very sharp or overly scratchy.
If you use a thick top coat, you could smooth it out a little, but this is the type of nail polish that eats top coat like it’s been starved for weeks. So while it may smooth it initially, the next day, you may notice that the grittiness of the glitter comes through still.
I used the OPI Matte Top Coat, which isn’t a thick top coat, so I wasn’t expecting a smooth, glass-like surface.
With a polish that’s heavy on the glitter like Orange You Fantastic! by OPI, you may need to spend extra time removing it because the hexagonal glitters are chunky and large. Plus the more layers you use, the more challenging it will be to remove.
Here, I used just 2 coats because I didn’t want to saw my fingers off during the removal process! 😉
You could also use a peelable base coat, such as the OPI Glitter Off Base Coat, which will make things easier.
Application & Formula
When I first noticed that the base yellow polish was sheer, my initial expectations were that it would need a lot of layers to build up the coverage and that it might make my nails look ‘sick’…and not in the cool “That’s so sick, man!” way, but the “Are you feeling ill?” way.
Although at 2 coats, the yellow is still sheer, I felt like it had a cool jelly-like look to it, and it filled in the spaces between the glitter nicely. (i.e. I didn’t think that there were empty spaces between the glitter.)
This yellow could make your nails look sickly, but I think what breathes life into your manicure (instead of coughing up a lung) is the glitter. It twinkles a lot, and the yellow base takes a step back to allow the glitter to really shine. I felt that the base complemented the glitter well!
Since this is a chunky glitter, you can’t just slap it on and call it a day. First, you can paint it on like a regular polish, but then, to achieve the best results, I think you should manipulate the glitter by pushing it around with the tip of your brush. It’s not something tedious. You can do it pretty quickly, and it’s actually faster than painting your nails normally because you can be messier than usual.
Another bonus of Orange You Fantastic! by OPI? Since there’s so much glitter, this polish dries verrrrry quickly! So be sure to work fast to avoid any lumps and bumps.

Final Verdict: 8.5/10
I really loved wearing this nail polish because it’s so different than any other one I own. The glitter reminds me of fall, and since it’s my favourite season, you know I’m a fan! 🙂 Plus the translucent yellow base gives it that unexpected twist.
It’s a really cool polish, and it’s not something you see every day, so it gets a high score from me! (With so many lacquers on the market, it’s hard to make something so original.)
What is a lacquer you own that reminds you of autumn? Do you wear chunky glitter? Are you a fan of the translucent yellow base, or does it turn you off?
I love this color. I’m not a big orange person, but this is just gorgeous! Can’t wait to see this one “in the bottle”. Thanks as always for sharing with us.
Hey Melissa!
Over the years, I’ve began appreciate orange more. Especially because we’re approaching autumn, oranges are catching my eye more and more!
Oh I would like to have this, but to my big disappointment… we don’t have it in my country… Seems like I will have to check online or on ebay in order to get it… 🙁 It looks gorgeous though.
Hey Jenny!
It’s frustrating when companies make colours that are only available in certain countries, isn’t it? Aww, well, I hope that you’re able to track it down and for a reasonable price. If not, maybe you can look into some indie nail-polish brand? They’re the only ones that might have something glittertastic like this.
