While you may be feeling the brighter shades during the warm season, I still want to show you OPI Incognito in Sausalito.
It’s from the upcoming OPI San Francisco Collection for Fall/Winter, which will officially hit stores on August 7.
You got a peek at it recently when I layered it underneath OPI Minnie Style, a whimsical magenta-and-white-hexagon-glitter polish.
If you’re looking for a vampy shade that’s really dark, but that just has a sliver of navy blue, this might be something you’ll gravitate toward.

OPI Incognito in Sausalito Review
Colour
Incognito in Sausalito by OPI is exactly what they claim – a near-black blue. I really have to be in a specific mood to wear near-black polishes. Most of the time, I want my manicure to be midnight black or a noticeable colour. However, there are some rare occasions when I like just a hint of colour in a blackened base.
In the bottle, the blue looks a lot lighter, but when I applied it to my nails, it definitely was more black than blue.
It’s the type of blackened shade that tends to look black in most lighting conditions, except under bright sunlight.
Finish
The creme finish is wonderful, rich, and smooth. It’s no-nonsense, and it complements the shade very well.
Application & Formula
Application was wonderful because the formula is pretty much perfect! It glided on easily, and wow, it was so opaque! With just a single coat, it looked like full coverage right off the bat! But, I added a second coat just out of habit.
Incognito in Sausalito by OPI was a joy to paint with, and this is an example of how when OPI gets it right, they really knock it out of the park. I’ll definitely be turning to this polish the next time I want to sport something that’s almost black.

Final Verdict: 8/10
Maybe it’s surprising that I’m giving a near-black shade such a high score. Normally near-black polishes frustrate me because, as many of my readers know, I live for bold, bright, obnoxious colour that hits you over the head with a plush toy! 😉
But, I had to give it up to OPI on this one because Incognito in Sausalito has such an impressive formula, and that always accounts for something!
Do you wear near-black shades? Do you own OPI Lincoln Park After Dark? (Remember when it was the “It” shade?)
Nice! (and an OPI so I’m not breaking any promises by wanting this one 😉 )
Hey Joyce!
Hahahahaha! You’re cute! 🙂
sweeeeet
Hey Icequeen81!
Hehe, I know these kind of colours are right in your wheelhouse. 🙂
Yes , you know me well 😀
I bet that fall and winter nail-polish collections are some of your favourites! That’s when they release a lot of rich shades. 🙂
yes waiting for it zoya ha a great coming
The PixieDust ones? I need Chita – the green textured polish! Of course! 😉
A vampy blue seems like a really cool concept. I know I don’t own anything like this so I’m sure it will end up coming home with me haha 🙂

Hey Paint Those Piggies!
I also don’t own too many really dark blues. But, if you love the concept, I suggest you try tracking down China Glaze Calypso Blue. It’s inky and beautiful. You can find the review of it on Swatch And Learn, if you’re curious. It’s so glossy, and it applies flawlessly.
OOooooooh Very nice. 🙂

Hey Lizzy!
I think I’ll be feeling this one a lot more in the colder months or when I get in that ‘vampy mood’. 🙂
Totally off topic, but I must say your blog is one of my absolute favorites and I love your swatches! 😀
Hey Sarah!
I love it when people go off topic. Actually, it’s a great way to see their personalities shine through. That’s why I find it interesting!
Thank you so much for not only taking the time to visit my blog, but for giving me ample encouragement, love, and support! It really motivates me as a blogger, but it also motivates me as a person because kind words like yours push me to improve and to grow. Means a lot!
Very nice! I dig it. 🙂
Hey Robbie!
Once again, this is a polish that you would knock out of the park if you wore it! 🙂
Hey Mary!
This shade is my fave among those you’ve swatched till now. IMO OPI has done a great job with S.Francisco Collection and I can’t wait to see all these stunning hues alive on my nails!
I hope to see you reviewing the rest of the collection too…
The pics of your glass-looking dark nails in this post are amazing!
Thanks!
Hey Floria!
Glad you love it that much! 🙂 I’m slowly, but surely going to work my way through the rest of the collection. My goal is to finish reviewing all of them before they’re released. Time’s ticking!
Yes, OPI’s San Francisco Collection is amazing – great variety and different finishes. There’s literally something for everyone.
If you love this one, I think you’d also realllly love China Glaze Calypso Blue. It’s really dark and super glossy.
Now this is way more to my liking! I haven’t been interested in any new OPI lately, but this may be the only one I get from the San Francisco collection. I looooove blacked out shades and I don’t have a blackened blue yet so this is a must 😀

Hey Frosso!
In a way, not being attracted to OPI may be a good thing…for your wallet! 😉 But, your nails are just begging you for some new OPI. Hehehe!
