Don’t look now, but my nails are mooning you! 😉
I’ve gone ‘plum crazy’ over this plum: OPI I’m in the Moon for Love from the Starlight Collection!
It reminds me slightly of the first non-drugstore nail polish that I’ve ever purchased: OPI Louvre Me Louvre Me Not. Although it’s not a dupe, they’re like sisters.
This shade is nostalgic for me because long before my love of green nail polishes, I was in love with berries, plums, and purples.
OPI I’m in the Moon for Love is one of those easy-to-wear colours because it’s not dark and not bright – just right and with a touch of subtle shimmer.

OPI I’m in the Moon for Love Review
Colour
I’m in the Moon for Love by OPI is a berry-toned plum is a colour that I consider to be a safe choice because while it’s very pretty, it isn’t too edgy or loud.
It’s the kind of polish that I can easily sport on those days when I’m not sure what to wear, and it makes me smile because it reminds me of the purples and plums that I first gravitated toward when I began collecting nail polishes more seriously since 2008.
Finish
From a normal viewing distance, I’m in the Moon for Love by OPI looks like a very shiny creme nail polish, but there’s very subtle micro-shimmer running throughout that adds ‘life’ to the finish. You’ll see the shimmer more when inspecting your nails closely or when the light hits it.
Application & Formula
It goes on very smoothly, as though it were a full-on creme. And you only need two coats to get full coverage. Great pigmentation!

Final Verdict: 9/10
I’m in the Moon for Love by OPI is a plum that many will find easy to wear for nearly any occasion. It’s like your favourite sweater that you want to pull out again and again. 🙂
When did you begin collecting nail polish? What are some of your sentimental shades? Would you ever want to live on another planet?
Such a pretty color. My boss at work would love this color. I do her nails for her sometimes and this looks like something she would pick for a manicure. I might have to get a bottle for her next “nail appointment”. LOL 🙂
Thanks as always for sharing and it looks great on you too!
Hey Melissa!
It sounds like you have a great, close relationship with your boss at work. That’s awesome how you paint her nails and have that kind of bond!
It’s refreshing to see all the creme polishes – or in this case, “close-to-creme” – that you’ve swatches of late. Not that I don’t like a good glitter, just that I’ve seen quite a lot of them in 2015 (we’ll call it the Year of the Glitters).
From this OPI line I bought three so far: I’m in the Moon for Love, Ro-man-ce on the Moon, and Cosmo with a Twist. And I love them all!
Your pics and review are spot-on!
Hey Cath!
Glad you think so! I feel the same way. Although I love the glitzy and loud polishes, it’s a breath of fresh air to switch it up. Plus creme polishes are so versatile and low maintenance.
Thank you for your words of encouragement regarding my photos and review! 🙂 It means a lot to me and really helps to motivate me to continue doing what I enjoy and what others enjoy, too.
I got this little subtle beauty in a Sally sale. As you say, it’s nothing spectacular but very pretty. I had several nail polish collection phases – my latest and most serious one started two years ago when I bought a sparkly holo polish at the airport. I have got a ‘sentimental’ polish that I bought when I was still at school (I think): a very sparkly red polish by Helena Rubinstein that cost a fortune and dried matte to my absolute horror! Now I know better… I’d only move to another planet if nail polish grew on trees there and was edible – yum!!!
Hey Firegirl!
Haha, if nail polish grew on trees, the polish companies would REALLY have to step up their game to compete with Mother Nature! 😉 As far as I’m concerned, Mother Nature is the epitome of true beauty.
I’m like you and sometimes link a polish to a moment in my life, which makes it sentimental. There are quite a few nail polishes that I have worn for the first time that I remember exactly what occasion I wore it during. It’s almost like how the brain links a the scent of a perfume with a specific memory. For me, I remember what I was wearing on my nails during critical life events.
Hehe, edible nail polish. Now that’s an interesting idea! We have scented nail polish, so who knows? One day, they may make it edible, so it’s completely safe for children’s fingers. That would be neat!
This is such a gorgeous color! Definitely right up my ally.

Hey Sasha!
It’s such an easy-to-sport shade. Hope you love it, if you decide to try it out!
I passed up on this one but it looks really pretty… *starts searching for purse, scarf and coat and needs to go out for a small errant*

Hey Joyce!
I think the nail polish was waiting on the store shelf for you with sweet eyes and arms outstretched. 🙂 Hope you enjoy this polish!
