OPI Embarca-Dare Ya! is a glowy magenta nail polish from the San Francisco Collection that will be hitting stores really soon – August 7th, to be exact!
(Guess what? As of today, I’ve finished reviewing every single shade in that collection! If you want to see my in-depth review and more swatches of all the colours, click on the above link.)
OPI Embarca-Dare Ya! is one helluva sexy lacquer. It’s like a sexy bustier in the form of nail polish. Rawrrrrr!

OPI Embarca-Dare Ya! Review
Colour
Embarca-Dare Ya! by OPI is a glowy magenta that’s feminine and seductive. It’s a great shade to wear any season, and you’ll find that it complements a lot of what you already have in your wardrobe.
It’s darker on the edges, and the middle catches the light in a very mysterious way.
Finish
This has a shimmery finish that sparkles a lot, especially if you look at it in bright sunlight!
Application & Formula
I loved the formula of this one. It was pigmented and went on smoothly. I only needed 2 coats to completely cover the nail.

Final Verdict: 8/10
This is a colour that I consider to be more traditional, and OPI is known for putting out reds, pinks, and magentas like this. It’s the kind of colour that you’re bound to wear at some point.
Now that I’ve showed you all the OPI San Francisco Collection shades, which are your top picks? Do you wear magenta nail polish often?
I should get a color like this. I’m sorely lacking in the arena of medium pinks in general.
It actually reminds me of a somewhat lighter Orly Moonlit Madness, is that true in person too?
Hey Fedoraharp!
I don’t have Orly Moonlit Madness, so I can’t say with certainty. After looking at online swatches, it looks like Orly also has that wonderful glowy goodness!
I think I like this one most out of the entire collection.
Overall this collection let me down a bit, I expected some more spectacular shades.
Hey Soraya!
Aww, sorry to hear that the OPI San Francisco Collection let you down! Hope OPI strikes a chord with you in future collections.
I really loved this collection because I felt like there was tons of variety in terms of colours and even finishes.
Wow, this shade is feisty! I really like it and how it seems to glow. Great swatches.
Signed,
Anxiously awaiting August 7th

Hey Erin!
That’s a great description – FEISTY! It’s definitely that. It’s like a salsa dancer!
Thank you – glad you enjoyed my swatches!
Congrats for swatching the entire collection, I really appreciate it! My picks are: I knead sour-dough, Haven’t the foggiest and Muir Muir on the wall. I liked the collection, maybe not as much as others (like Germany or Holland, which are great collections…) but it’s a good one.
Like you, i can’t wait for the fall, I love the colors, the clothes, the food…
Hugs and kisses!
Hey Sabrina!
Thank you! I tried really hard to finish reviewing the whole collection before the official release because I wanted to help readers make good purchasing decisions.
Great picks! 🙂 I think that this collection had a lot of variety – the colours and finishes were really diverse.
Fall’s also great because the cool air isn’t humid. Haha, my hair gets really frizzy in the humid summers, so I appreciate the relief when autumn rolls around! 😉
I am a huge magenta fan – this will be one I certainly will pick up when the collection releases.
Hey Beachgal!
Oh, then you are definitely going to LOVE this! It’s a magenta that’s very electric! Enjoy!
Congrats on finishing the swatches and reviews on the entire San Francisco collection! \o/ It was quite a labour, but you did great. 🙂 You’ve made me fall for several of the polishes. ♥

Hey Laure!
Thank you! It was a lot of work, but it was a lot of fun, too! 😉 And I feel very honoured to have the unique opportunity to wear all these shades!
Hope that you enjoy your polishes as well. Please let me know what you think of them after you’ve worn them. I’m curious to know if you are as excited about them in person as I am!
Pretty 🙂 is just like vamp beet juice 😀
Hey Icequeen81!
Mmm…beets! I just ate some pickled ones yesterday. 🙂
HI Mary!
Great job with your reviews, the collection was huge (with 3 more shade than the usual amount).
In general I like this collection, maybe not the most original, as Germany or Swiss were, anyway contains a lot af charming shades.
My top picks are:
-Muir muir on the wall;
-Peace and Love and OPI;
-Incognito in sausalito;
-In the cable car pool lane;
-Keeping Suzi at bay
I have only to be a little more patient!
Thanks again for your detailed preview!
Kisses
Floria
Hey Floria!
Yeah, this collection was big and so diverse. I really feel like there was a colour and finish for everyone! I love collections that have a lot of variety – keeps it interesting. Plus I like to wear all different shades instead of sticking to one colour group.
You’re very welcome! I’m glad you enjoyed my reviews on the OPI San Francisco Collection. It was my pleasure! 🙂
