Flannery O’Connor suggested in 1953 that a good man is hard to find. Well, so is a strong green holographic nail polish. But I found one that I love – Nubar Reclaim from the limited-edition Going Green Collection!
What I love most about Nubar Reclaim is that instead of having the more common scattered holo effect, it has the linear holo effect. What does this mean? You actually can see the rainbow forming in lines on your nails. Rainbow Brite, eat your heart out!
This is most definitely a color that gets noticed. At the Christmas get-together I hosted a few days ago, one of my male friends complimented me on this hue, and I think it’s the first time he ever commented on my choice of nail polish.
If you’re looking for a fun color to wear this holiday season, I suggest this. It’ll make you keep staring at your nails!

Nubar Reclaim Review
Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a green-polish fanatic. Heck, even the receptionist at my workplace got me a lovely green-glitter OPI nail polish as a Christmas surprise. So it should come as no shock that this is going to be a glowing Nubar Reclaim review.
Application was easy peasy. Nubar has the best formula around in my opinion. And they don’t charge you an arm, leg, or firstborn for it, either. It glides on the nail smoothly and thinly without being watery or goopy. And this stuff self-levels, which is great especially if you’re new at dabbling into the wonderful (addictive) world of nail polish. You’d really have to try to mess it up.
The first coat goes on super pigmented – with a thick coat, you could probably get away with one, but since I always wear at least 2 coats, I did that.
And let me tell you – Nubar Reclaim dries fast! But of course I used my usual Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat to protect my hard work.
Now, I have to say that my Nubar Reclaim swatches don’t do the color justice. It’s way more sparkly and holographic than it appears in my photographs. And especially if you get a chance to see it shine in sunlight, you’ll be starstruck – all the colors dazzle so brightly. You can see how linear the holo is with turquoise, blue, green, yellow, and orange.

Final Verdict: 9/10
Nubar Reclaim is fun to wear and has oodles of personality. If you’re a fan of green or holographic polishes, this is a must-have!
What’s your favorite holographic polish? Can you recommend any other great green holos for me to try?
I just finished putting on Reclaim and I totally agree with all you’ve said! Amazing application, amazing colour, amazing holo!
I had to check the “results” and mine actually said results. I guess someone discovered the typo! Lol!

Hey Kee!
Nubar usually has spot-on formulas that are so easy to work with. Wish that more beauty-supply stores carried their polishes!
Hehe, and it’s good that they’ve corrected the typo. “For best resluts” instead of “For best results” always makes me laugh.
Oooh, and thanks for sharing your blog link about the free Hello Kitty plates. I’m going to try to grab one if they still have any left! Did you already get one the first time they gave it away for free?
Hey Mary…just wanted to follow-up about the Hello Kitty plate! I got mine last week and I love it! I finally got to use it for my current mani. Were you able to order one?
Hi again Kee!
Lucky you that you already got it!
Just wondering…Did the image pick up okay? I know that some plates aren’t etched deeply enough, which makes it difficult to transfer onto the stamper. And what color combination did you use for your Hello Kitty manicure?
Yes, I was able to order one, and they’ve already shipped it out. Now I’m waiting for it anxiously like a kid on Christmas Eve! Hehe 😀
I’m glad you were able to get one! I’m so excited for you!
The image picked up great! I used my #1 Stamp Champ- Rimmel London Pure Silver. =) I also tried another image in the plate just for fun and it picked up fine as well!
I sponged my mani on this time. I used Wet n Wild White Creme, Nicole by OPI Play Fair and China Glaze Grape Pop for the gradient. =) I only did the tips.
I hope you get the plate soon!!

Glad to know that the plate worked well for you. Can’t wait to get mine and try it out! 🙂
Nubar is completely underrated i think. I’m so glad i discovered them because you’re right, their ormlas are o easy to wok with!
Yes, I ordered one HK plate from January and I’m presuming that it’s on its way. They had problems with their system, I think that’s why it’s taking so long. Hence them giving away more as an apology. I hope you get one!!

Wow typos galore. Sorry about that! I still apparently can’t type on my iPad. =(

Heh, that’s okay. 🙂
I’m hopeless when it comes to using virtual keyboards. Whenever my friends ask me to type something on their phones with virtual keyboards, it takes me far too long, and I get really frustrated because the letter I touched isn’t the letter that’s comes out. Heh, virtual keyboards make me feel like an out-of-touch 80-year-old.
I totally agree with you. I can’t type for beans on an iPhone and the only reason why I sort of can on the iPad is because it’s bigger lol!
I agree with you, Kee. The only reason why they’re underrated, I think, is because they aren’t stocked at stores like popular brands such as OPI or Zoya. And even the Nubar website has shipping restrictions. I really wish they branched out more – people would go crazy over their polishes (especially all their fabulous duochromes)!
You’re so right. My friend found the supply store that sells a ton of Nubar and I’ve been there once and came out with a haul! They have a buy 6 get a 7th free deal going on. I see you got yours for a good price though!
I hope they would start branching out and make it easier for the masses to purchase their polishes.

I ordered this online last night!!! and I’m Malaysian, so it’s not impsossible to get hold of one if you’re not living in the U.S., but it is indeed tough. Phew. I’m so thankful this Malaysian nail supplier had one LAST bottle. *Thankful* It’ll be arriving before christmas, it will be my Christmas colour this year. Yay! and I read up that Nubar is a vegan company, it does not test on animals, which makes it a double winner
Hey Liz!
Yes, thank goodness it’s not impossible to get outside the US. I’m in Canada, and if I couldn’t somehow get my hands on it here, it would be devastating. This is probably the BEST green holo! And Nubar is awesome like that with their vegan, cruelty-free philosophy. 🙂
