Nicole by OPI Still Into Pink Swatches & Review

Nicole by OPI Still Into Pink Swatches & ReviewNicole by OPI Still Into Pink is a hot pink that reminds me of Barbie or Elle Woods from Legally Blonde.

It’s one of those bright pinks that makes you happy just looking at it.

While pink nail polish certainly isn’t my first choice, this one is really fun to wear, and it’s putting me in the mood for spring and summer!

It’s such a cutesy colour, and one of my co-workers liked it a lot. (Hehe, she seems to always compliment me only when I wear pink. She must be a piiiink fieeeend the way I’m a greeeen fieeeend!) 😉

Nicole by OPI Still Into Pink Review

Colour

Unfortunately, the weather was overcast when I wore this manicure, so I didn’t get to fully appreciate it in all its glory. (I’ll have to wear it again. Then, who knows? Maybe the clouds will part and then a beam of sunlight will shine upon it as someone hiding in the bushes sings, “Ahhhhh!” and strums a harp. Or maybe that won’t happen. After writing that, I kind of hope it will, though…)

Even though the weather was gloomy, my mood was upbeat when I wore this because it’s such a happy pink. It’s bright, but it’s not neon. (Neon pinks are my favourite types of pinks to wear.)

Finish

Nicole by OPI Still Into Pink is creamy and has very slight shimmer. The shimmer keeps it from looking too plain.

If the sunlight came out, I’d be able to report exactly what colour the shimmer is, but…from the overcast days, this looked like the shimmer was a light pink or maybe even a silver. Whatever it is, it’s very subtle and doesn’t steal the spotlight from the base pink.

Application & Formula

I suspect that although Nicole by OPI Still Into Pink isn’t a full-on neon, there must be a little bit of neon in it. I say this because it dries very matte, which is typical of neons.

With this polish, you definitely need to use a shiny top coat to fully enjoy the colour. Without the top coat, I don’t think it looks very attractive because it’s not just matte, but it looks a little uneven. With a top coat, everything seems to even out.

It only required 2 medium coats to achieve full opacity, but I tried 3 just because I wanted to see if it’d make a difference. (I didn’t notice enough of a significant enhancement to recommend a 3rd.)

The formula is on the thicker side, but it’s pretty easy to control, and it goes where you want it to.

At first, you may notice that it looks slightly streaky, but by the second coat, it really looks much better. And then, with a top coat, it’s even better.

Pros

  • Fun Barbie bright pink
Cons

  • Dries matte (Requires a shiny top coat to look good)

Final Verdict: 8/10

I really enjoyed wearing Nicole by OPI Still Into Pink because it’s such a punchy pink. There’s enough contrast between it and my skin tone, and the formula was easy enough to work with.

What pink polish have you been turning to for a mood booster? Do you have a favourite finish for a pink polish?

      Hey Icequeen81!

Definitely really bright and punchy. If this polish could speak, it would for sure have a very girly, high-pitched voice.

      Hey POW Nails!

I think the shimmer keeps it from looking flat or ordinary. 🙂 And I bet that on a sunny day, this colour would pop even more!

      Hey Lizzy!

Those Legally Blonde movies are so much fun, aren’t they? 🙂

Aww, thank you so much! I had a bit of a struggle taking photos of this manicure because the dreary natural light was soooo dim. I think I took around 80 photos in natural daylight, and only 10 of them were decent. The rest were so fuzzy and unusable!

Sooo now I have to buy another pink polish lol. I love this shade and I don’t care if I have something similar 🙂

      Hey Amber B.!

Haha, who would’ve thought that I’d be promoting a pink polish on here that isn’t a neon! 😉 But, lately, as I’ve been wearing more pinks, I’m learning to appreciate them more.

Pretty! It makes me want spring. I actually don’t own a pink polish, and I feel like I need to fix that for this spring/summer 🙂

      Hey Tiffany!

Wow, you don’t own a pink polish? *Gasp* This is a pretty pink to have, but if you want to buy just ONE pink nail polish, I would HIGHLY recommend getting China Glaze Shocking Pink (neon pink) or China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy (neon coral pink). Both of those are insanely beautiful and fun with a shiny top coat.

      Hey another Cristina!

You know what? I wasn’t a pink-polish fan before, but I’m slowly warming up to them. 🙂 What’s happening to me? Hahaha!
