Hate that sticky, tacky, drying goo that is some lip glosses? Yeah, me too. That’s why I normally stay away from wearing them. But that doesn’t mean I stay away from looking at and testing them whenever I can in hopes of finding one that has the right texture.
Cue Marcelle Vita-Lip Plumping Gloss in Desire. I tested this product on my hand inside the drugstore, thinking it’ll just be sticky like all other lip glosses. But it actually feels soft and, well, un-superglue-like. So off to the register I went. A decision that was mostly good, but a little bad…

The Review
Texture of Marcelle Vita-Lip gloss? Love. It’s soft and gentle. It passes the non-sticky test, even on the lips. It feels almost like a balm, which is a huge surprise! But beware: it’s not as moisturizing as, say, Chapstick. It does hydrate your lips, but if they are chapped, it doesn’t have enough moisturizers to smooth them out.
I’ve tried (and complained about) lip glosses that smell…from fake strawberry fragrances to pasty scents – UGH! And I’m happy to say that the Marcelle lipgloss has absolutely no smell to it. A bonus, especially since you’ll be smelling it the whole time it’s on your lips. Your nose is right there!
Originally I wanted Angelica because I was looking for a soft pink. But I went with Desire instead; I figured I need a color that’s a bit darker for the hue to show on my lips. I’m glad I did. Desire is still too light for my taste, but it does add a tinge of pink. The finish isn’t glaring – your lips won’t look lacquered or patented. It just has a nice soft shine.
Now onto what the big fuss is all about for the Marcelle Vita-Lip lipgloss. Does it plump? Yes…but only very little. My lips aren’t thin to begin with, so I don’t notice that big of a dif, but I do see my bottom lip slightly fuller. And you can hardly feel the plumping ingredients. I only feel very almost-not-there tingles on my lips. But remember: as with all plumping glosses, the plumping effect fades when the product is gone from your lips…
Which, in this lipgloss, is actually quite quickly. The Marcelle VitaLip gloss has no staying power! Even when I don’t drink, eat or lick my lips, the gloss lasts around 1.5 hours at most. Not good.

Final Verdict: 7.5/10
That flaw is a big one in my eyes. I don’t like applying and reapplying my lip glosses so frequently. I usually forget! But if you don’t mind that too much and you want a nice wash of sheer color, then I definitely recommend this.
(I suggest wearing Chapstick with an SPF underneath all your glosses, not just the Marcelle. Glosses attract the sun‘s rays, which can harm the skin on your lips. I’m definitely an advocate of sun protection!)
Even though Desire is a bit too light for me, I still kind of want to try the other colors. If you’ve tested them, lemme know what you think please!
