eos Holiday Lip Balm Collection Review & Pictures (Strawberry Sorbet, Sweet Mint & Passion Fruit)

Guess what? Evolution of Smooth has come out with something new for winter – the eos Holiday Lip Balm Collection!

eos Holiday Lip Balm Collection Review & Pictures eos Strawberry Sorbet Review, eos Sweet Mint review, eos Passion Fruit review

It includes 3 full-size, organic eos lip balms in the following flavours: Strawberry Sorbet, Sweet Mint, and Passion Fruit.

The purple one (Passion Fruit) is a new and limited-edition flavour.

This is a cute little set that would be perfect for splitting with your friends or for a little stocking stuffer. Yup, Christmas will be here before you know it!

When I see all 3 lip balms neatly lined up in this package, it reminds me of either a set of golf balls or Easter eggs! Either way, it looks simply adorable!

Now, you’ll remember that not long ago, I reviewed the eos Honeysuckle Honeydew Lip Balm on here. I went into great detail about the packaging, the moisturizing effects of the lip balm, etc. Please refer to that if you want an in-depth review about those factors.

In this review, I’m focusing solely on describing the individual flavours since the other elements (i.e. packaging, moisturizing effectiveness) are the same as the Honeysuckle Honeydew one.

eos Strawberry Sorbet Lip Balm Review

I’m pretty wary about trying strawberry lip products. In the past, all the ones I’ve ever tried had the same kind of plasticy, artificial kind of strawberry scent and flavour that I don’t like and that sometimes even gives me a mild headache. But eos added that description of “Sorbet” to the name, so I was curious.

I was taken completely by surprise with this one – I really liked it! It actually reminds me of a really good strawberry ice cream instead of sorbet, though.

This flavour and scent reminds me of when I was a kid. (For some reason, my parents often bought strawberry ice cream when I was very young, but got different flavours as I got older.) For the nostalgic reason alone, I like it, but for the fact that it is strawberry lip balm that doesn’t make me nauseous, it’s a true winner!

eos Sweet Mint Lip Balm Review

This was the first one in the pack that I tried because I’m a big fan of minty lip products. Usually they make your pout tingle while making you feel like it’s freshening up your breath. I normally like to wear minty balms in the morning and throughout the day because it wakes me up.

eos Sweet Mint is a soft, powdery kind of mint. It smells like those little mint candies that come in pastel shades and that are usually square-shaped (like little pillows). The mint is noticeable, but it isn’t overpowering. You’ll definitely notice your lips tingling a bit after you put this on. It’s a very energetic fresh fragrance.

eos Passion Fruit Lip Balm Review

I didn’t know what to expect from the eos Passion Fruit Lip Balm because I have tried a bunch of different beauty products and food items claiming to have passion fruit in them, but they were all really different. And I don’t think I’ve ever eaten passion fruit by itself.

Passion Fruit is a limited-edition flavour. I wanted to like it because that would make it more special, but it turns out that this was my least favourite of the bunch!

Since I’ve never had a passion fruit solo, I’m just going to describe what this smells like. It has exotic leanings, for sure…and it’s strange – almost perfumey! There’s a sharp sweetness, and I get a little bit of floral. While I can’t pinpoint what kind of floral it is exactly, it’s definitely there.

I’m not a fan of florals, and it gave me this weird taste in my mouth when I wore it. Again, it’s hard to describe, but it’s similar to the taste I got when I wore this one Revlon lipstick in the 90s. There’s a perfumey flavour, so I’m not a fan of this one at all, sadly. If you actually do like floral fragrances, then you may actually fall in love with it.

Pros

  • 100% natural & 95% USDA Certified organic
  • No petrolatum, paraben, or gluten
  • Not tested on animals
  • Provides everyday light moisturization
  • Contains Shea butter & jojoba oil to nourish & soothe
  • Contains a limited-edition flavour (Passion Fruit) – well, it’s a “pro” if you like it
Cons

  • Contains a limited-edition flavour (Passion Fruit) – a “con” if you’re not into something that’s floral & perfumey

Final Verdict: 9/10

These are all everyday lip balms that offer light moisturization. I like how they’ve come out with a nice variety pack with several different flavours and even put out a limited-edition one. Even if I didn’t like Passion Fruit, someone else might. This is a fun little pack to get so you can try out more flavours at once.

I gave this set a high score despite me not really caring for one of them because my love for the Strawberry Sorbet one blew me away and compensated for Passion Fruit.

My picks (in order of my most favourite to my least favourite) from this pack are: Strawberry Sorbet (this one’s seriously delicious smelling and tasting!), Sweet Mint (cooling, soothing, and refreshing), and then Passion Fruit (too floral and perfumey).

Now, you may wonder how eos Honeysuckle Honeydew stacks up compared to these. I’d place it in between Strawberry Sorbet and Sweet Mint.

Have you tried any of these flavours? Did the cute packaging also remind you of golf balls or Easter eggs? Have you ever eaten passion fruit? If so, can you please describe how it tastes to you?

Great review and description of the scent/flavours! I wish their holiday set was more Christmassy though. Maybe some cranberry mint or sugar cookie instead of their regular fruit-based flavours. Seems too summery!

      Hey Sarah!

Thank you! 🙂 Sometimes it’s not easy describing scents, especially ones like Passion Fruit that I’m not as familiar with.

Ooooh…Sugar Cookies sounds yummmmy! I’m really into gourmand and sweet scents, so I’d be over the moon if eos ever came out with that. Good idea!

Awesome review! I’m thinking I might pick up one of those mint ones next time to keep my lips from cracking this winter.

btw this is something that I’ve been wondering for a while, but what time is it where you live when you post these? I always look forward to reading your posts whenever I’m pulling an all-nighter on Tuesdays (it’s 5 am right now), they give me a break from all my work!

      Hey lulu!

Glad you found it helpful. 🙂 The Sweet Mint one is like a breath of fresh air – very refreshing! It’s great for lip-cracking prevention (hehe, that sounds weird when it’s typed out). If your lips are already chapped, sore, and cracked, you’ll need something heavier-duty. But I’m all about prevention. Why deal with a problem if you can prevent it, right?

I typically schedule my blog posts to go live at 7 am (Eastern). But, occasionally, when I have something like a giveaway or a “Blog News” post, those can be scheduled at any time.

Wow, you pulled a crazy all-nighter! 5 am! Hehe, I’m picturing you with toothpicks propping up your eyelids.

If you do get them and try them, please come back and let me know what you think. I’m curious to see if your favourite flavour will be the same as mine or different.

I love EOS balms. I got this set when I saw it at walgreens and so glad I did! I think my favorite is the mint, then the strawberry. I also don’t like the passion fruit as much as the others but I don’t mind it. I have a lemon sorbet one as well which I love!! 😀

Beautiful! I love these lip balm! They’ve only recently came out in Quebec (about 2-3 months ago). Unfortunately, I don’t find them to be as moisturizing as the Chapstick brand. My favorite lip balm is still my Cherry Chapstick. 🙂 But I have two Eos lip balm and I love using it! The package is just so adorable that it makes me simply happy whenever I take it out. 😛

      Hey Jennifer!

I’m glad that you found something that works for you! 🙂

Everyone’s lips are different, for sure. What works for some people doesn’t for others. I knew a woman who swore by Chapstick, but the last time I tried it (a few years ago), it did nothing and just sat as a layer on top of my lips.

And some people love softlips – those thin little white tubes. Those did nothing for my lips even though I was really hoping they’d work.

I’ve found that eos, Jack Black, Shaklee, and Aveeno are the only brands with lip products that actually work for me. (Well, Vaseline works, too, but I don’t like the greasy feeling.)

      Hey Carmela!

So glad you got (and love) the Honeysuckle Honeydew! 😀 I know what you mean about it being ridiculously good. After I got it, I found myself opening it even just to smell it. Before that, I didn’t even know that I liked the smell of honeydew that much!

This set was sent to me by PR, but closer to the holiday season, I understand that it will be available also in Canada.

Which other flavour did you want to try? I’ve seen Honeysuckle Honeydew and Summer Fruit sold at my local Rexall. They had about 4-5 of each. And, to this day, my local Shoppers still doesn’t carry any eos lip balms.

It was lucky that I found any at all, then. I’m curious about Summer Fruit but that strawberry one sounds amazing! I’m a big strawberry fan so I’m looking forward to getting my hands on it. 😀 I wonder if there’s a definitive date for release?

Me too! It just smells sooo good. My friend tells me that you haven’t had a good melon till you’ve had one from Japan. She swears by them and says that’s probably where EOS got their inspiration for it. 🙂

Oh yeah, if you’re a big strawberry fan, you’ll probably love Strawberry Sorbet even more than I did (and I REALLY loved it!). 😀

Not sure if there’s a set date for the release of this set. I can ask PR if they know the Canadian dates. As usual, it’s already available in the States.

If that mint one was sold by itself and came in a sparkly silver package, I would be ordering one – and backups. And extra backups. Alas, I’m not a fan of fruity scents, so I’ll stick with my beloved Dr Pepper Lip Smackers for now (which, seriously? it is SO GREAT).

      Hey collier!

I haven’t seen the Sweet Mint one sold separately in Canada, but only because the places I’ve seen any eos lip balms, they’ve only had Summer Fruit and Honeysuckle Honeydew. I thought I heard about someone finding Sweet Mint solo, though…They do sell Sweet Mint solo on their website, but of course, there’s shipping fees to take into account if you order it.

Oh, Dr. Pepper Lip Smackers! Hehe, that takes me back to my childhood. 🙂 I got my first few Lip Smackers when I was in grade school. In the set, I got the Dr. Pepper. It was really good! 🙂

Wow, sounds like you have a nice little eos collection already! 🙂 I like lemon lip products if they smell/taste like lemon tarts and aren’t really harsh like lemon cleaning products. Is Lemon Drop soft?

Heard a lot of great things of them, just too bad you can’t get them here that easily, otherwise i would try them out. The only lipbalm that ever swayed me over to buy was Rosebud lip salve 🙂

These eos balms are great to wear as a lip primer under lipsticks. And the Honeysuckle Honeydew smells soooo great. I know you’re going to just love it! The Sweet Mint is also nice, and it’s not loud like a lot of peppermint balms on the market.

Oh, I didn’t even know that there was a cherry one!
